Morning all!

Gail I haven't seen the story so if you would like to post it again, I'd love to hear it. You can put it on my personal page if you think it will bore everyone to death!

I gave up on trying to post last night. My latest theory is that I'm touching the touch pad (mouse thing on laptops, think it's called a touch pad) while I'm typing. Not sure how to check that though.

Suzy...My hubby does lots of cooking, but I like to do party stuff...and I will order some already prepared since my d and her intended are vegetarians...so many of the guest will be too...and I don't do their style of cooking. I'll cook for the rest of us....and there is always stuff that everyone eats..i.e fruit tray, fresh veggies and dip, so the foo isn't a problem....its just the cleaning and hubby's recuperation that concern me time wise...I can't toss him out of my way...Ohhhhh, it hurts to think about it...CYL8'er...have a great day/night all!

Hi Ruby, yes a good joke of Broni's. I have heard it a couple of times before.
It was a sunny day but it is now starting to cloud over and feel a bit chilly.

Gail, Suzy, we do not have anything with Vista on it! Now sure how long hubby can hold out. he builds our puters, so can always have a Vista free machine, but what will we do when a=most all the software requires Vista??

MizT, I'm wondering when Microsoft will realise that people aren't going to 'just get used to it'...

SA5'ers one and all.
Hope you are having a good day.
We thoroughly enjoyed 'Guys & Dolls' yesterday. A good day to be going to a matinee...bit too wintery and blustery to do anything much else. Top cast of Ozzie actors...quite a few I had never seen live before so that was good.

My Addiction to Sudoku and Pootering
A story for Suzy

When I was working full-time, I had half hour for lunch, enough time to have my cup-a-soup, scan the paper (including the obits!), and then to 'relax' with the sudoku. Got fully addicted to it. When I 'retired', I know longer got the paper on a daily basis. Man was I suffering withdrawals! I asked hubby to bring a paper home each day from work, because I knew no-one else did the puzzles but he never remembered. That is when he told me that I could probably do sudokus online. Oh no, that would mean using the dreaded pooter and I wasn't too sure about that, after all, I had held out for so long. He looked it up and voila, the first site to come up was sudoku.com.au! I tried other sites but the game play wasn't as good as this one and then, a month or so later, I accidently scrolled down, and what did I find...COMMENTS! Well, from that minute on, you couldn't prise me away from the pooter.
Pooter is my friend

Gail, your hubby is pretty smart with computers so he has probably aready tried to download new drivers for his printers. My feeble knowledge of computers tells me that if either Microsoft or the printer manufacturers would develop the drivers, hubby would be set! Totally sucks...

Thank you for your story of addiction... Mine started in a similar way, except I was the one who did the search. I have used computers for many years, but don't know them very well. It's a problem when you know you can say to your partner - can you do this for me? instead of having to work it out for yourself.

Hi all, I know of quite a lot of people who have resisted using a pooter because 'it wasn't my thing' once they tried them well there was no holding back. Then the problem comes that their original, basic machine is not good enough and they have to up grade I'm the only one in our house who doesn't use vista (machine is too old) everyone else love it once they upped their processor speed. Manufacturers are selling machines with vista on but with too little memory to cope with it.

Maen sudoluland! I checked the numbers, but have not read, No knocking Rolanda off a TOPPs today!

A cooler start for today, but going to very warm later. Hubby has plans to get me to help him put up a wall today, yeah, right! I can go out and be his cheering section, and chief gofer, maybe. We will see how this goes. Just a partition wall in his office to make storage closets.

Well, I have Stuff to do since the next couple of days are pretty much no chor days with doc appointments. I have to start feeding the machine, and fold and put a way the jeans and darks I brought in last night, and, well, you know! STUFF!

This is great, reading all this, made me smile and after a day with a sick hubby and a bored toddler I needed to smile! Specially loved the way MizTricia pipped Rolanda to the post of TOPP purely by chance Vista? Now I know i've heard that recently (am i out of touch or what?!) think i only know it from the Mac ad .... am still on xp and its fine, by the sounds of all your probs will be staying with it too!
