time to go and do some stuff...
before I go...went and saw David Helfgott at the concert hall last night...WOW!!!
Unbelievable...hard to believe that anyone could actually play a piano like that. Now I want to go and watch 'SHINE' again..such and extraordinarily gifted man.
I have never been in an audience that was so enthralled and captivated by the performer on stage..you could have heard a pin drop. No coughing, fidgeting or restless shuffling in their seats. Didn't know a single piece that he played and it didn't matter a jot.

Suzy, when I had my gall bladder out, my three little incisions were covered with tape. Everyone I had talked to about the surgery said they had one stitch per incision. I could see the black sutures under the tape and it looked like I had three button holes. A week later the surgeon pulled the tape off and the stitches came out stuck to the tape. It was painless.

Hi, June. Are you still here? Good to hear about Laura and the Gang. Are we going to see the video?

Hi Ruby, I took some photos at the dress rehearsal (one on my page). The scouts do make a video of the performance but I am not sure about putting it on line. All Laura does is stand there and wave while 'Adam' sings his song. She is not three yet and is just a 'prop' in the show. She has done three shows so far with 6 more to go.

Gday Jean, welcome back to SA5.
I do not want to be the one to be blamed for causing another obsessive addiction, so you wont hear about flipwords in the forums section under flash games (click on view all flash games) from me!

I'm with June, don't wait another minute. The more minutes you wait, the bigger it gets, and the harder to remove. I was chicken and went for a plastic surgeon - so far have no regrets. Actually several people told me I'd be crazy to go any other way.

Ruby, I don't have any external stitches, just tape. I will have to remove it myself in a week or so. Won't see the surgeon for a month... Guess he wants to wait to see how it settles down.

Evening Gail, didn't see you lurking... though you aren't anymore, you're off doing chores. I pushed that hot thingy over some clothes a bit today, but that's all.
I'm actually doing chores now. Mum has discovered that the Berrima Court House has already done what she suggested for her local one (though with a much bigger budget - hers is nil) and she has asked me to google for more info. So I'm in here posting while waiting for pages to load...

Well hubby has decided that tonight is the night the girls will learn how to play Texas 42. I haven't played it since we played with his parents (his mother died in 1991) so I guess I will be learning again too. Hopefully it's like riding a bike...

Suzy, thumb is soo much better, thank you for asking, better than it has been in about a year even, I would say. That first day hurting was well worth the results already, and I am told it can take up to a week fore it has done all it will do. Icing it was the trick for the first day, really made it more comfortable.
Gail, sorry it was gross. You might not want to read the rest of this as it is same subject.
SUZY, the internal stitches were supposed to dissolve, but I was told that in about 7% of the patients my doc sees, it does not completely dissolve. I was in the lucky 7%. So the bits of undissolved suture materail came to the surface, nothing major, this was a couple weeks after the surgery, they had done thier job and were in process of dissolving . But my body rejected the pieces and they worked thier way to the surface. Forced them out, and doc called it spitting _____, the blank being the name of the suture material which I did not ever understand.

Jonjo, glad to see you are back, and welcome again. You will get the hang of all this, you are comming along nicely. Each of us was a newbie at one time, and some of us even remember it! It is nice to see the progress some of our members made in talking to strangers and making friends on here.
I see you have a bouncy Tiger avatar, does that match your personality?

OOOPS, I forgot to put on the coffee this morning!
Today I am making either peach jam or peach butter, not sure yet, which I shall do with this first patch of prepared fruit. Probably the peach butter, and let it cook overnight tonight in the crock pot, easy way of doing it.

GAIL, I told you not to look!
I did get the
yesterday before the thunder showers returned! Kind of a rush job, down the middle, but better than nothing. maybe I can get back with the trim work tomorrow.
It is just so derned humid, even inside with the AC on. Last night I got comfy, dried out the air, untill hubby came inside and said, you have it so cold in here you could hang meat. Well, at least it was not HUMID. But he turned off the AC and although temp is not high inside yet today it is again so humid I feel sticky even doing nothing. Welcome to July in Alabama!
Outside is like walking into a wet sponge. Hubby working out in the shop yesterday, and twice came in saying "help me get this (pull over scrub top) shirt off! It was soo wet, it clung, and was almost impossible to get up and over the head!
YEP, we are back to the 3 shirts a day for him and I was not prepared. He ran out of scrub tops yesterday! I washed and hung on hangers and put in the bathroom on the shower curtain rod, with a fan blowing on them, to get them dry overnight!
Must away and run that hot thing over a few of them. I hate 100% cotton shirts cause they wrinkle so, but they are cooler and more absorbent.

Morning all!
MizT, glad to hear your thumb is much better. Every time I hurt something I think 'you don't realise how much you use 'blank' until it hurts to use it'. Thumbs are especially useful so that would be even more true.
My doc actually works mostly in Sydney and only comes down to our little town a couple of days a week. As you can imagine, it can take a while to get in to see him. I was lucky and got in on a cancellation. If I reject my internal stitches, I'm not sure what I'll do.... hope I'm not one of the lucky 7%

One of the problems with this site is that although it feels like the people we meet are just around the corner, they are actually a long way away. So when my mouth waters for homemade peach butter, lemon butter, plum jam.... I'm totally out of luck - not gonna get to try them!!!!

Playing Texas 42 was like riding a bike. I remembered most of the rules! And listening to hubby teach the girls (he started playing as soon as he was old enough to reach the table) I learned more about strategy. We were also able to tell stories about their Grandparents and their Aunt and Uncle which was wonderful. We were high fiving, cheering, oh no-ing, groaning, laughing... We really have to play more often!
