well, it jumped right into fall from summer after the rains yesterday - I'm near Chicago and we are biting our nails as our 2 baseball teams the CUBS and those south siders - white sox, battle to stay in first place. Cub fans have been here before - many many times, enjoy your time on the board, Mary

Hi Storm.. to Sudokuland.
You must be feeling pretty chuffed with the Hawks win on Friday nite....romped it in....I live in a 'Cats' household but naturally support the Hawks as they are our local.

Hope you enjoy the site and if you are free I recommend the crew that are getting together on the 5th...should be a great time.

Hi Storm, just read your comment about social and natural capital. I am working on my dip ed and for me it was social and cultural capital. I just wish the authors had agreed on exactly what that was! It would have made my paper easier to write!!

Hi Suzy,
There are 4 types of capital...I think
Social, natural, economic, human/individual capital. i am currently studying sociology of rural and regional communities with a heavy slant on enviromental issues hence the reference to natural capital and how if we successful harness our social capital we can effectively manage our local landscapes....interesting stuff and even more so when you put globalisation into the equation. Howver, sometimes the reading is a tad dry and I find I have a little nana nap between chapters. As long as I get there in the end

Hi Storm,
We only really covered social and cultural capital, though the others were touched on in a couple of readings. You don't mention cultural... I think it's one of those things where different researchers call it different names because they like to feel important. I had to sit at a desk or table to do my readings or I couldn't make it through them!! Especially the ones I disagreed with...

Hi again, family info this time...
I have 2 daughters, 15 and 12yo, one in year 9 the other in year 6. A full time hubby too, though he is going to TAFE 3 nights a week so maybe he's classified as part time? We have 2 dogs, a budgie, 6 quails and at the moment we have 2 visiting horses. The girls are off visiting my mother at the moment - took them a whole day to get there! They come home on Wednesday, then on Friday we head off to Port Macquarie so d1 can play baseball for the weekend. We'll probably come home on Tuesday. On Saturday d2 will compete in her first singing competition... So much for restful school holidays!!!

Hi Storm.
How are the studies going? I have no idea where you live in this fine state of ours but if you are happening to be down Melbourne way the weekend after Easter would you feel up to coming and meeting some of the regulars? [We really are a friendly bunch ....]

There is to be another Sudoku meet.
This time it is to welcome Keith and Lynne on their trip to the great land down under.
Check out the details on the link below to a new forum page
