Hi, Carol. I am over on the East coast just outside Ft. Lauderdale. I don't mind the wind so much, it keeps it a little cooler. I just wish we could get some more rain. I am tired of all the water restrictions. Hope you have a great holiday.

Hi Carol,
Can't believe how I have failed to visit you before this. One, have a wonderful time with your daughter and her family! You and I have the opposite problem you're in Florida and your child is in California, I'm in California and my son lives in North Carolina. What's with our kids?
Two, I leave some (you really needed the double shot of Leonidas chocolates really, it's not my fumbling fingers) and a bottle of California !
and three, Happy Easter!

Hi Carol - I am getting excited! I have my summer clothes packed. I just need to pack last minute stuff. It makes it easier to pack when it is cold! I see I can "check" only one suitcase. That made my decision very easy as to whether I should bring my violin. I need the space in my "carry-on" bag. See you soon!!!!!!

Carol, today I had notes or e-mails from Debby, you, Ed, & Chalkboard!! Ed said he won't know for sure until Mon. if he can come or not. Rob has determined that he CANNOT come. He has important tennis matters to attend to!! Debby said her flight doesn't get in until late Sun. night so she will call me Mon. I think you two have already exchanged phone numbers, right? Would you please send me a private message with your phone number so I can call you about the number for the reservations as soon as I hear from Ed. I think Debby would like to bring her Mom & Dad, so maybe we will have 7 in our group? I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone!! Talk to you soon.

Carol, thanks for the warning. It is supposed to rain tomorrow afternoon. In the morning I am going to a city sponsored garage sale at the community center. I was on spring break and cleaned my garage all week. My son has a baseball game tomorrow so I hope the rain holds off until the evening. At least your plants are doing well.

Carol, I just remembered my older son sails off your shores. You have sailing nationals there. The first time he went to Punta Gorda was just a month before he raced in the Olympics in Savannah, Georgia (the internationals was in your bay then). He had gotten sunburnt on his neck and hands. So what does my goofball son do, takes off his shirt so he'd match all over. Ouch! He was in pain for a week. Luckily he was better for the Olympics. He raced in Solings a three-man boat.

Hey Carol, post some pics of Punta Gorda (fat point!) I'd like to see how the harbor looks! I've sailed Solings in the women's national. I the lucky one got the jibs and shaping the mast. The smallest of the crew and they gave me the mast! Ooooh almost broke my back pulling that one! After 20 years of racing, I'm about broken! I don't mind a casual sail but no more races for me, thank you! Our last boat was a Martin 242 a Canadian race boat. Popular around here. My son just bought a brand new one and his in-laws bought our old one!

Carol if you have a digital camera it's easy to download and from there to post pics! Or if not for less than $100 you can buy a really great one. The neat thing is that you don't run out of film! I used to have to carry around a heavy camera and a lot of film cannisters! Now my camera fits in my pocket and I don't need any film! It also helps to have one of your offsprings to figure everything out for you and teach you how to operate everything!

Hey Carol.. did laugh when I saw your message on my page regarding my backyard.
sorry about the autumn colours you were expecting.
here in Australia, well at least in Perth, we dont get the bright colourful leaves.
and our native trees are not Deciduous.
however we do have imported ones,
and the leaves are just now starting to fall!
more brown than coloured.

Hi Carol - I have a friend who plays the mountain dulcimer who had given me information on a place in NC, so I had to check and see if it was the same place, but it wasn't. No, I am not familiar with Elderhostel, but it sounds like fun. I purchased my mountain dulcimer in NC last summer. I have a "beginners" without the 6 1/2 fret. Now I have one with the 6 1/2 fret! It was made by a fellow who lives in Kentucky. The craftmanship is very good! The town where I bought my dulcimer is Blowing Rock. It is off of the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Have a great day, Carol

Hello Carol - It is good to hear from you. If you hop on the Blue Ridge Parkway from Blowin Rock and take it North, you will come to our town in Virginia just after you cross the State Line. Our road to our property is off of the parkway.

Hi Carol. for the birthday wishes. Spring seems to have finally arrived today and I've been busily filling my large balcony with plants. It's too bad the Rochester / Toronto ferry didn't continue operations - that must have been a more pleasant way to travel here than the long, highway route. Have a safe trip north.

Hi Carol. If you go into the Forum (click on the link in the top tool bar under Sudoku Puzzles) and go to the Questions About This Site section, there is a link called MEMBERS SPECIAL FEATURES -HELP AND INFORMATION. You can find information in there about creating an avatar, creating your own smiles, loading pictures, etc. I have scanned a lot of my old pictures in so that I could post a few. If you have a scanner, you might want to try the same thing. Good luck!

Carol, how far north are you going? This June, about the 26th I'll be headed that way to see my son and his family. I told my DIL that I"d take my grandson on a vacation with me to visit my BIL and his wife in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. Maybe I can see you, Kathy and Jane along the way?

Hi Carol! Thought I'd drop by for a quick visit this morning. To answer your question of a few days ago, yes, I am watching the French Open on & off, but not actually sitting in front of the TV. Mostly I am listening to the commentary on Tennis Channel all morning & then ESPN2 in the afternoon. No, you won't see me at Roland Garros next year, although if someone gave me tickets I'd love to go someday. Rob & I have just finished painting our Master bedroom & are starting on the breakfast room area. I'm trying to break out of my dull neutral colors mode, & we are trying two walls of red!!! It's kind of scary looking now, but maybe we'll adjust?? When did you say you are headed north?

Oh Carol!!! I miss you too! Didn't we have fun that day? I will think of all of you on the 10th and wish so bad that I could be there to join in on the fun and meet Jano.

We have some HOT weather on its way. It is suppose to be 90 here by the end of the week. We don't have air in our house and I always dread the hot/humid weather. My fans will be running!

I have been busy today cleaning bathrooms, replacing shower curtain liners etc. Ugh! I ordered a new rod for the kids bathroom. Ours was replaced a few years ago. Our house is getting to be "that age."

It was great to hear from you! Are you "Summerized" yet?

Hi Carol! Saw your note on Debby's page & wanted to be sure we're all on the same schedule for lunch in Venice. I hope Karen told you 6/11, not 6/10. Jano flies in to Tampa on Tuesday evening, the 10th, & we'll meet up with you the next day. Hope the 3 hour time change won't be a problem for her. Looking forward to seeing you again.

Hey Carol!!! I thought that avatar looked familiar. We don't have a lot of J22 racers here, it's mostly the J24's. Well, at least when I was racing with my Martin 242 (24ft 2 in). We were put in PHRF groupings with J24's. I wish I could meet you but unfortunately this time I'll have my 18 month old grandson with me and we won't be able to make super long trips by car!

Hi Carol! Karen, Jano, & I had a good time together, but unfortunately it involved LOTS of time on the road! On Tuesday night both Karen & I drove from our homes to the airport, then on Wed. I drove to Karen's house in Spring Hill (about 1 1/4 hour) to meet up with them there. Karen then took us on a pretty drive up to a restaurant in Dunnellon which is almost up to Ocala! We ate a late lunch there, went back to Karen's, & then I had another long drive to get back home. On Thurs. Karen drove Jano to my house. Then after a short visit here with Rob, I drove my car from here down to Sarasota via the Long Boat Key area along the Gulf. We didn't get to the Ringling Museum until around 2:30 PM, & it was only open until 5:30. Very nice place, though, & we enjoyed seeing the circus museum, the Ringling home, & the art museum. Had dinner (no time for lunch!) at Carrabba's, then drove back to my house. And then Karen & Jano still had another 1.25 hr. drive back to Karen's! I didn't see them on Fri. as Rob & I had other plans, but I think they went to Tarpon Springs. Jano was probably pretty sick of car trips by the time she went back to LA! She is very sweet & easy to get along with, laughs & smiles a lot, & was very generous with gifts she brought to Karen & me from Beirut. I took only a few pictures. Will try to post those soon. Happy Father's Day to Houghton!

I only just spotted your question in the Help forums, and I apologies for my delay in replying.
Before I answer, I need to know where you wish to display the photo or picture. Let me know and then I will have a better idea of the size I can recommend.

Carol, while you're on the auto train tomorrow Rob & I will be flying up to Grand Rapids, Michigan. From there we'll drive to Whitehall, MI to visit Rob's brother & the sailboat he built all by himself! We'll stay for the 4th of July, then come home Sat. Hope you have a good journey & a good stay up north. Looks like we're going to end up with either Venus or Serena as U.S. Open champ. And probably Federer or Nadal? Do you have a preference?

Carol, for the message. I do hope that the whole WORLD knows about the horrendous situation in Zim - sadly, the African leaders choose to "play" silent diplomacy, with the hope that all the problems will disappear!! My husband is Zimbabwean and 2 of my four children were born in Harare - we all just love Zim and our hearts are broken to see what MUGABE is doing to HIS OWN people. That beautiful, prosperous country has been destroyed!! Take care and please keep on praying!
Love

Hi Carol! Are you back in FL now? I've been thinking of you this week as we all waited out Fay. Tampa Bay got lucky once again as the storm passed way to the east of us. Here in Valrico we had only a little wind & barely any rain. Was glad to read that you had a good summer with your family. Are you going to post some pictures? I've added some of our week at Fripp to my Flickr page. I was SO thrilled to get to see some baby turtles!! Please send me a few lines someday. Would love to hear from you.

Hello Carol! It is soooo good to hear from you! I hope you had a nice trip to California! Rick and I spend 2 1/2 weeks in Virginia in October and had a very nice time. I haven't been playing much music lately. I have been brushing up my Christmas Carols on the piano, but that is about it. I have a few more gifts to buy and my Christmas shopping will be finished. My mom and dad are doing well! My mom called me! and talked about an hour on Friday. She is doing much better and of course that makes my dad sound better too! We don't have any trips to Florida planned, but you never know..... We have talked about going back to Virginia in January. Their winters are more mild than they are here. Our ground has been covered for 2 weeks already! We had a very nice enjoyable and relaxing Thanksgiving with so much in our lives to be thankful for! The economy here in Michigan is very bad and there is so much sadness all around us. Our family is all "holding its own!" so we feel very blessed! We have food, shelter and clothing to keep us warm and you just can't ask for anything more than that!

Have a great day!
