CG, Porter Wagoner was the host. He was known for his lavish decorated Country Western suits. He also helped start Dolly Parton's career. She was on his show and worked with him for several years. I know this from reading the history. We had a black and white TV until about 1972, and then we only got CBS. If the show wasn't on CBS, I didn't see it.
I believe you are right. I thought the older guy looked familiar. Bill Monroe was involved with the Foggy Mountain Boys. It also could have been Flatt or Scruggs.

I'm really touched that you would pick up on my 'lurker' (such an unpleasant word) status from Anne's page. I am, of course, familiar with your customary page-warmer gifts, and it is very nice to have my own beavertail! I very much enjoy following all your comments...was sad the snowmobile race never happened...and one of these days, I will jump in; perhaps it is not necessary to have read every archive comment before doing so. Thanks again for the gift, and I will leave you an Elgin Watch. I haven't figured out my smilies yet. So far, they only seem to erase my comment.

Hello Greg
Thanks for popping by once again. Firstly thank you for your kind words in regard to my page during easter, much appreciated.
CCR are one of my favorite bands also. We have friends that play in a band called Creedence Clearwater Recycle. They have quite a following here in the country areas and they also played at our engagement party, many many moons ago lol
I'll try and get a clip of them up on youtube. Oh and btw, thanks for abba, now I can't get them out of my head.
cheers

Greg, you are so wonderful to one and all. I so enjoy visiting you to just be able to bask in the light of your warmth, and evidently others feel as I, as witnessed by the large number of us who return to a comforting place. Thank you, for your continued friendship, helpfulness, compliments, silliness and clever repartee. You are my kind of guy! Hope your holidays were as great as mine.

Hi there Mr Canada! Thanks for the warm welcome from a chilly place. I don't know who set up the page for me..but it was a nice surprise. Come by again...I usually have brownies available..but there are first come first serve!
I still need to learn how to decorate my place...what are beavertale pastries? Perhaps similar to our bearclaws?

CG, thank you very much for leaving a note for me. Saw it after I came home from the burial. Was very much appreciated. Amazing, there was a lot of grey and white hairs among cousins, all but one of the uncles and all aunts have passed away. My poor dad, the youngest sibling, is left. But seeing my cousins, was great even though this time we talked about sons and daughters and grandkids!

Hello, Greg! Thank you for your message. It is wonderful to know that my Sudoku friends still want to keep in touch - it isn't that I have lost interest, it is just that I have so much to do! My daughter went back to England on Thursday, but some other friends arrived on the incoming flight that she was going out on... That is the sort of life I seem to be leading at the moment - no time to turn around, let alone to think... will be in touch when and if things calm down!

Also want to thank you for your great youtubes, photo of polar bear and cub, and especially for the thought that goes with it. Superb. Lovely to have you as a friend.

Great song Greg.

What a surprise that you pushed me over to another page (again) In My Dreams was released in the mid 80's I believe. I love REO, Kevin Cronin had that great clear voice.

C Greg - I can put labels on any wine you want (we will be bottling a shirz in about 10 days) me too. I live in the south east corner of the state, probably anywhere between 300 - 400 miles away, depending on where in the north part it is.

Greg, I hate to disillusion you but I don't think I have a drop of Irish blood in my past, I am of Scottish descent. However, I do love Irish music and the Clancy Bros in particular.
My other love is Eggs Benedict (apart for my wife and kids) and I would be happy to share mine with you (the Eggs Benedict, that is, not the wife and kids).
