Hi all, thought it was a bit nasty that Col had to come back to such a mess - so have swept it all under the big rug in the middle of the room. Do you think she will notice? I mean, not one part of the rug now touches the ground!! rofl rofl!! I think she might need more than one VLS Rose! We might have to put them in a row from the door!!

psssssssssst COL ....over here look what I found!2 of those dancer guys and do they have NICE !!! they have been hangin around waiting for you to get back I told them they better take a nap cause they have a looooong night ahead!

Col - a very happy birthday to your special grandmother. She sounds wonderful. Thanks also for your birthday greetings. I won't say how many I have to go before I reach her age, but if I do get there, I hope my grandchildren are as proud of me as you are of her. Did that make sense?

Your grandmother's mother was a widow at 21? What a hard life she must have had. Did her husband die in WW1 or was he a victim of the Spanish 'flu just after the war? There were so many young men missing from that generation.

Thanks for sharing the story of your grandmother's family, Col. They were a hardy lot back then, weren't they? I was curious because my grandmother was widowed by the Spanish 'flu in 1919 and left with 3 small children. She ran a dairy in Maribyrnong to support her family, although she re-married some years later.
