Hi everyone. Thanks for all the Christmas messages.

I posted this picture a couple of weeks ago - although it's not my biological family - it is my family of sorts.

This is a photo of the Melbourne Sudoku gathering held in Melbourne on Friday 15th December.

Hi Col, no resolutions for me, I just try to do the best I can each day. I'm traveling around the globe to wish all of my sudoku family the very best new year that is possible to have. For those of us who will be trying to become all (or maybe I should say less than we were)that we can be health wise...I lift my water filled glass to each and promise to add my support in any way I can. Peace be with you.

Hi Col. You have all you need to fill your life in the coming year, and good on you! 2007 is around the corner. A whole new year coming up, and so much will happen during this coming year. I do hope that you and yours enjoy peace, happiness, good times, (chocolate for those of you who indulge), and should there be some sorrow that befalls you, I do hope you weather it well and stay strong and positive. HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Hi Col....geez you are getting out and about a lot!!! Have a great New Year's Eve and a great new year. Any new year resolutions apart from the weight loss one with Rose? Mine and Mark's is to distance ourselves from Mark's family. That doesn't sound very nice does it but it is a toxic family. Always dramas, never any happiness and totally depressing. Mark also works with his sister and her husband so family matters are taken to work as well. Our decision is for him to leave that work and although it will be hard for him to find work with his disabilities and money-wise we will be quite badly off, it has to be done to save our relationship. You can't live with the constant negativity that has been surrounding us so we are making positive changes.

Nicole is doing okay. Her partner, Matt, isn't helping a lot which Nicole is finding hard to deal with. He does so much but when he thinks he has had enough then that's it. A bit hard for Nicole when she is just learning about babies herself and she needs all the help she can get. It will be okay though. When she gets stronger physically (after the caesarean)and mentally she will be more in control and will be able to make the right decision for both her and Kiarah. As you can see a lot has been happening here over the past few weeks but we are all moving forward and looking forward to next year....

Col - I'm in here with you I have about 20Kg to lose but that still leaves 10 wobbling around in the back ground. Don't think my skin will shrink with me if I go too far.
I'm looking forward to wearing something new and smaller in our summer.
Mind you my shape wasn't helped by my recent visit to Australia.......
Call into my place for support or compare notes anytime.
We can do this together with all the love and support on this site.

AP - a simple answer to your question .... 'NO'

GM - thanks for the support I'll be over to visit soon.

NOW....... THis week I have been SOOOOOOO good. You see my biggest downfall is that I am a chocoholic.... and I mean TOTAL chocoholic. Not only have I not had ANY chocolate this week - my husband has had a gigantic Toblerone sitting here, next to the computer (and it's open) all week - and I have not touched it - not even once.

RESULT: Did a weigh in this morning - (going to weigh in each Friday) - 2 KG gone ! I'm so happy and if I needed any more encouragement than what I'm already getting off you wonderful people - then those numbers on the scales this morning were it! And, yes, I DO realise that the early weeks are the biggest loser weeks - but that's OK - cos it's early on that you need the encouragement.

Yesterday I went shopping (lol - not that unusual for me)

I bought a new skirt - when i got home, I put it on and LOVED it. It is a soft flowing, non clinging hankerchief hem skirt. You know what? - I'm going back today to buy one 2 sizes smaller - so I can wear it by the middle of the year - this is going to be my goal outfit. I will hang it in a prominent place (perhaps near the biscuits and chips in the pantry? lol). so it will also help keep me on track.

Hi Col...below is an extract from an e-mail Nicole sent to me..
I feel like I have a different baby today, she has been awake but not needing to scream, if she does cry she is easy to settle/soothe, she is now asleep in the snuggle bed after about 1/2 hour or so of fidgeting (but not screaming), have hardly had to walk her around to settle her at all this morning, I don;t want to get too excited at this stage but it seems the colic relief may be working and if this is a normal day than things don;t seem so bad...

Col, I'm dragging my achy body over here to let you know that I care that you want to lose all of those 40 kilos....since I didn't do the math either, I just want you to know that I know you will really work at it, and I'll be out there cheering you on, or shoud I be baraking you on? Teach me the lingo to use please. Swimming, Karate, walking what ever works....go for it!. I'm going to keep pushing my tired old bod hard enough to lose, but not so hard that I wind up worse for the effort. I lift up my water glass in good health!

Col - well done the first kilo and first step is the hardest and you've done it. Keep it up.
I, too, am a chocoholic but I also love a glass of wine or 2. Dear Steve forgot I had gone A F M (alcohol free month) and sat down to dinner last night having opened a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon, not a drop did I touch. AND I refused a glass of champagne yesterday at golf club. This must bode well for the future.
Like Rosemary I will be weighing on monday, but already my podometer belt is feeling a little looser.

Only 8298 steps today, no wine, no wheat, no dairy (except a little milk in tea) maybe too much fruit but I got hungry. 2 litres of water.
I'm out of the kitchen and off to bed no food is allowed in the bedroom anymore. Just water bottles.
How did you do today?

Hi Col...well she used the t-shirt with her smell on it to lie on. Don't think that worked too well but she thought maybe she should have had more smell on it. She has actualy used all of them (instead of the heating one as it's already hot here in QLD). CP also said that the swaddling may be a litle too hot for up here as well. The big winner, we think, is the colic relief drops she bought from the natural remedies section at the chemist. I did ask her what she had eaten the night before and if it was a bland meal. I didn't get an answer to that! I have to admit that Nicole's eating habits are spicy are garlicy so I hope she has heard and learnt enough now to tone it down.
