Hi Anew. Thanks for the invite. I really needed a rest from all the shopping I've done lately. Since I'll be spending the night I thought I would bring some bagels, bialys and cream cheese from New York for you and all of your guests for beakfast in the morning.

The views are great. I know why you had to make the move here.

Good luck.

25g citric acid
Method:

2.Take off the heat and add juice, If preferred, this may be strained.
3.Bottle whilst still hot into clean, sterilised (in oven ) bottles

anew? 27? Wow!!! You look so much younger!
Having said that....I am 57 (will turn 58 April) ANYONE under 40 is beginning to look mighty young to me.
My perspective has changed:
Infant = anyone under 20
Baby = anyone under 30
Child = anyone under 40
Teenager = anyone under 50
Young Adult = anyone under 100 - Oh That means ME!

Anew, Merry Christmas. You might recall our last Sudoku flight to Napa went a bit out of control. The first class cabin is being repaired now, and we'll be ready to cruise around the world for a New Year's bash at 35,000 feet. Extra security will be onboard to tame even the wildest party animals. Put on something VERY sparkly; tell us the airport nearest you, and we'll fly in to scoop you up!

.........FOOD PLAN - DIET - LIFE CHANGE.........

Here goes:
(anyone wishing for a full copy, without having to read it through the next several comments, or copying/pasting it for yourself, let me know, and I'll e-mail it to you.)

IF YOU ARE NOT SERIOUS ABOUT CHANGING YOUR LIFE, GETTING HEALTHIER, and OVERALL IMPROVING YOURSELF, then DON’T READ THIS…
The following is here as AN OPTION, for people who want/ need to change their food habits, and eating lifestyles. It’s always been recommended to walk, and to cut portions of foods, even eating what you want, just less of it, will help. Also for average people, snacking every 2 hours during the day, is better than waiting between meals. However, there are people that, even that, does not work for, especially if they are obese or close to it. HERE IS AN OPTION. It doesn’t matter if you’re BIG OR SMALL, SKINNY OR FAT~ This can, and does help, but BE READY, and SICK ENOUGH OF YOUR CURRENT SELF, BEFORE TAKING THIS ON!!!!
(My doctor’s thoughts, along with mine, are typed in parentheses, throughout the narrative portion of this program, because the initial plan, does not include some of the pertinent information)
PLEASE READ THE WHOLE ENTIRE THING, BEFORE MAKING ANY DETERMINATIONS of OPINION OR NEED for YOURSELF or OTHERS, THANKS!!!!!!

One of the principles of this program is based on the glycemic index. Foods that have a high glycemic index turn to blood sugar very quickly after we eat them. When we eat foods that have a high glycemic index, our blood sugar rises rapidly, which is followed by an overproduction of insulin.
When our insulin levels get high enough, then our blood sugar drops rapidly until we eat something again. This roller coaster cycle of insulin and blood sugar, causes sugar cravings, prevention of fat burning, decreased metabolism, and worse of all, insulin resistance.
If this continues long enough, we can develop enough resistance to insulin to cause diabetes. By eating foods that are lower on the glycemic index, our blood sugar and insulin levels stay more stable which helps to maintain a healthy weight, stop sugar cravings, and prevent diabetes. The second principle of this program is based on detoxifying our bodies from pollutants that have accumulated from our environment, such as: air pollution, pesticides, ect., and poor diets. The supplements that go along with this diet will assist with detoxification. (Take activated Charcoal with each meal, it absorbs the bad and helps neutralize. Take Acidophilus, with each meal as well, that puts back good bacteria, and replaces the bad, that is leaving your body. Take a food enzyme, each meal- to help digest all foods, which is recommended when eating tomato based products/ acidic food even if you don’t follow this plan. Also, for the first 2 weeks, you’ll want to start with a detox kit,(around $30-40) I recommend Clean Start, by Natures Sunshine, can be purch

can be purchased online at:
http://www.naturessunshine.com/index.asp
I’ve purchased mine from here before, they are a good company. Just type in Clean start and the other stuff, and it’ll direct you to the product, and guide you through buying. Also, Take my word~ IT’S cheaper than any health food store, that I’ve ever been to. If you don’t want to ship from USA, and you live in another country~ You can find a detox kit, at most any health food outlet/store/shop, ect. It doesn’t have to be Clean Start. Just ask the professional at the store, for a recommendation…and see if they have Clean start there.)
This nutritional program is designed to improve your overall health and nutrition rather than just a weight loss diet, however if you are consistent with it as outlined, weightloss is a beneficial side effect.
(I can attest to this, after taking the cleanse Detox kit, which is a drink. AM/PM and a few pills, for 1-2 weeks, and then following the phases, I lost the craving for all my favorites of treats, breads, ect, and I lost between 40-50lbs in about 3 months. I did feel like a major pill popper at first, because I was taking more than average of pills/supplements, but it is WORTH IT!!! I along with weight loss, attained a lot more energy, and felt good overall, also a good balance of well-being, clear thinking, and so on.)
THE PROGRAM IS DIVIDED into 3 PHASES
Phase ONE~ lists all the foods you are allowed to eat and points out foods that you should avoid. As you progress to the next phase, you can eat everything from the previous phase, plus the new things listed in the new phase. IN ALL PHASES, YOU ARE CUTTING OUT SUGAR/TREATS/DESSERTS/CHOCOLATE/CANDY, ect.
TIP~ Plan ahead and prepare snacks and meals from the approved list so that you can eat about every 2 hours. This will help to stabilize blood sugar levels and reduce cravings. It will prevent you from eating nothing for a long time, and then going on a binge because you are starving.
TIP~ Check labels carefully. There are many sugar additives that have different names that you want to avoid. Some examples are: modified food starch, maltodextrin, maltose, corn syrup, high fructose corn syrup, fructose, and honey.
TIP~ Focus on Vegtables, especially green leafy. You should have a large salad for at least one meal a day, in all phases.

BEGINNING- - - PHASE 1 - - -, 2 weeks.

Phase ONE involves eating very few carbohydrates, which are found in foods like potatoes, grains, fruits, and breads. Since these foods that are high in Carbohydrates are being excluded TEMPORARILY, you can eat more meats, and proteins than you normally would.
You may experience some sugar/carbohydrate withdrawl symptoms as your body adjusts to burning fat for energy. These symptoms may include- cravings, fatigue, weakness, or feeling shaky. This is NORMAL, and TEMPORARY(mine was only a few days, and you can usually still function, go to work, ect). If you give in to these cravings and have sugar, you may feel better temporarily but you will still have your “carbohydrate addiction”.
PHASE 1 Foods you CAN/CAN’T eat----- IN the FIRST 2 WEEKS:

Dairy products:
ALLOWED~ NONE
AVOID~ All dairy products, like milk, butter, cream, and cheese.

Legumes (Beans and peas):
ALLOWED~ Soy, peanuts.

ALLOWED~ NONE
AVOID~ All breads, tortillas, chips, grains (this includes corn), cereals, pasta’s, and anything else made from flour.

Fruits:
ALLOWED~ Avocados, tomatoes.

Avoid the SKINS of the Poultry Meats.
Avoid, PORK products, and processed meats such as Deli meats, sausage, bacon, and ham. These foods are high in additives, preservatives, and sugars.

This is a balanced nutritious diet that you should stay on strictly for the rest of the 2 month program, and stay as close to as possible, for the rest of your life.

Now that you’re adding in more grains, and legumes, you should cut back on your meat consumption. Also, choose protein sources that are low in saturated fat, like fresh fish (not shell fish), chicken, turkey, veal, tofu, or soy protein powders. Limit proteins that are high in saturated fat, like beef, eggs, goose. Avoid trans- fatty acids like margarine and other hydrogenated oils (Crisco, sprays, ect.)
Always try to balance protein, carbohydrates, and fats at each of your meals. Continue with a large green salad, at least once a day.

(Honestly, This is not for everyone. You have to be ready and willing to make this change in your life. If you’re tired of being overweight, out of energy and tired a lot. This is most likely the best option for you.
Some people could follow this, but not to a T, and do really well. Others will need to follow strictly and closely.
Some will not benefit, because they already have a balanced nutritious diet/food plan for themselves.
KEEP IN MIND, if you relapse, cheat, ect. KEEP GOING!!!!!!!! Don’t get down on yourself, that will only keep you in your BAD PLACE!

This WILL help people, determine, what food IS OKAY, and WHAT ISN’T!!!
When I lost my weight, I did not excersise, at first. I still lost a lot. But for everyone. WALKING IS BEST.
I’ve recently learned that one of the main reasons people top off and plateau in any weight loss/food changing/life style changing program, is because of lack of excersise. Basically, in order to keep losing weight, you need to build muscle. Most people think it will make them fatter. NOT TRUE. Muscle building/ lifting weights, even starting out small, will REALLY help, to get over the hump of weight loss. Such as “I’m stuck at 10 lbs, or 25 lbs”. ect.
I recommend, everyone, do what is best for you. I’m posting this, after having typed it all out, for people who are serious. I really don’t care if you’re cynical, negative, or not ready for this. It isn’t here for you. SO, you can state your opinion, but it really doesn’t change the fact, that much of the information provided here, is something that would benefit most unhealthy people.
IF YOU ARE HEALTHY! Great! Thanks for the support of Rosemary’s Idea, and group support.
Many people, even skinny people, are not healthy, and changing the way they eat can and will, affect their mood, mentality, abilities, and physical well-being.
IF you are not sure if this is something you need. THERE IS A WAY TO TELL:
Do a test~
Start/begin a FAST, the night before, and in the morning for one meal, eat only foods with carbohydrates in them, such as pancakes, muffins, sugary foods, flour items, ect. Wait 2/4 hours and see if your body is weak, shaky and craving more. IF YOU DO, you need this CHANGE.)

Well done Anew
I am not sure that I will follow exactly but will go for the low GI food, cut portions and start walking, then will build in some more exercise as the weight comes off.
I have done a similar program to the above before and then fallen off the band wagon after losing lots of weight and getting too carried away with the new me.. .so I do know it works.
you are correct in saying it is a change in lifestyle and attitude that is required. I know there are many on site who are going to take this challenge and we will succeed with each others support and support of those that are blessed with a great metabolism or happy with their life.
