I have a new fridge, a final replacement of my 'dead' fridge of some months ago. I shall treasure it, fill it with golden wine and secret pleasures... and treat it as all good fridges should be treated! An ode is called for to celebrate new life...

I have a few that species and shape, but none pure white with just the hint of yellow on the lip. I bought 2 in Aug 06 and several more in April 07 and then joined the local club. The great thing is that, not only am I not killing them, but that several have or are about to re-bloom and some have had their first batch of flowers.

Yippee.

Oh white and dusky pleasure
Of which I cannot measure
You shine eternal here
No more heated bottles near
soothing with your cold
The wine I've just been sold
swirling with your breath
not like the one of death
I celebrate your style
Stay and cool me for a while

Good Thursday Maen, all!
It's a chilly 44 degrees F at 7:41am PST

Wow! 937 posts yesterday--prob will not have time to pick up where I left off, but it sounds like a good time was had by all!

Rayray and Jane: the Poets Laureate of Sudokuland!

(although I was worried a little about "sheep on the barbie" until Ray's reassurance about his sheep's latent carnivorous ferociousness [is that a word? it is now!])

THE NEW FRIDGE

New and white and oh so clean
Is André's gorgeous chilling machine
Twill ice her wine, her meat, her cheese
No more will she have to beg "please"

The old fridge died, it went its way
To wherever old appliances lay
It did its job, it did it well
Until one day André said "what the hell?"

"My wine is warm, not even cool!"
And it was summer so that was cruel.
So out with the old, in with the new
Has André got wine?, inquires you

Yes! And to start the Christmas season
You're invited (and she's not teasin')
to share her wealth of food and wine
From her new fridgie that runs just fine!

The child (US Citizen) known as BABY GABRIEL, will NOT be "deported" to Mexico (at this time). His foster parents, the Brandt family, who have cared for him since he was 4 mo. old (2+ years), will be allowed to adopt him. As part of the agreement, Baby Gabriel must learn Spanish to stay in the US.

The State of Oregon, located (in Mexico) his paternal grand-mother; flew her up here for a mediation session on who should raise the child. Both of his parents, had their paretnal rights terminated & the maternal grandparents (US Citizens) were also not found as a safe home.

As part of the agreement, Baby Gabriel MUST learn Spanish to stay in THIS country. His father is a Mexican Citizen - thus Gabriel is also a Mexican Citizen (per the Mexican Consulate) even though his mother is a US Citizen and Gabriel was born in the US and has never been to Mexico.

At least he will continue to be raised by a family that loves & wants him including brothers & sister.

For those of you not familiar with this case. BABY GABRIEL is a "crack baby". His mother refused to get help for her aditiction and left the State and her son in the custody of the State. His father was an illegal alien, drug dealer, rapist, pedophile - a "scombbag", who was deported after release from prison (said he would live with his mother in Mexico). While Baby Gabriel's maternal grandmother was not found as a suitable home, she supported the adoption by the Brandt family.

EVE, thanks for the update on Baby Grabiel. Learning Spanish is a small price to pay to keep the only home he has ever known.

Delicate orchid. I've noticed the last couple of days that the picture comes in bigger than the puzzle. Today, it half covers "Play this pic as a Jigsaw" and "Previous Day's Sudoku." Anybody else notice that happening?

So much for being here for the end of yesterday's party - I have been running since I got to work at 9pm last night, it has only settled down in the last hour. And somehow there were another 9 pages posted after I signed off before going to work - I'll read them later!

I will tell you this- it is one thing to declare a kid will learn to speak Spanish, it is another thing to get them to do it, especially when they are surrounded by English. Usar espanol no es facil quando usted es en Oregon. Here a few years back a young Guatamalan woman was sent to Spanish classes (instead of English) because she only spoke the Mayan language Kanjobal. I suppose all of us in Estados Unidos might be better off to learn some Spanish, but mandating Spanish lessons in a country where the Green Language of money is English does not seem to be in the best interest of the plaintiff.

Here is an amazing video of the CEO of my company conducting a demonstration of our TelePresence technology during the opening of our new billion dollar campus in Bangalore, India, last month. In the video John Chambers is in Bangalore interviewing Marthin De Beer in California live, on stage, in front of a large audience!

Ok, Glenn, I checked out the video and watched a couple of the others that were listed. One suggested that in a short time, the images would be in three dimensions. How long before they will be able to reach across the table and have the sensation of actually shaking hands or spitballing the clown in the corner with his head on the table?
