Dorthea,

You probably don't need any but I've brought you a bottle of Aussie bubbly(you can do a taste comparison), a plate of nibblies and an invitation to drop into my page anytime and meet my family.

Dorthea, I thought it was only supposed to be the bride who turns up late for the wedding...NOT the bride's dress! Hope the rest of the day went smoothly.

Hey Dorthea, was she late for her own birth?!!!
Back when we lived in South Australia, we had a friend who could NOT get to anything on time. We always had to make up a time much earlier than the rest of us and yet still... She was forever trying to pack too much in too little time.
The thing that bothered me the most was that she is a midwife! Amazingly, she always made it to a job on time. I don't get it?!?!

Hi Dorthea. I came to see your daughter belly dancing!
To help you in shrinking and reducing the size of your photos, check out the two following free software packages that you could download and make use of:

Cheers, and good luck.

OMG! Someone else with hair down to her hips! Soulsisters. Although I usually coil mine up in a bun to keep it out of the way when I work with my students.

hope with all the responses you received that you are now able to resize your photos. it just takes messing around and NOT saving each step. you just have to do it. it took me several days to finally get it and i haven't for a while, so i may have lost it all. lol. what i do remember is that you have to square up the pix first, the change to size until it meets the requirements. i could make the changes, save it as something else then check the size and pixels. it takes some time to get one down to the right size. good luck and have fun with it. it shouldn't be taxing. let me know if i can help...

Hello Dorthea - I posted a poem earlier this week that had a word in it that has a totally different meaning in Australia than in the US. Unfortunately, I didn't know this! Anyway, if I have offended anyone, I am very sorry. Susan/Ingham brought it to my attention. I will not use that word again! She was not offended, but surprised that it would go through Gath's filters. I thought it was a cute poem. It is posted on Easy on Oct. 25 if you want to check it out. I have brought it to Gath's attention. Have a great day!

Hi Dorthea...nice pictures of your family. i have motorcycled the Sierra foothills and the Sierra Nevada Mountains for many years and have been in and around Sly Park. I worked in San Jose and lived in Santa Cruz my whole working life. I miss the area and all our friends down there. We retired to Southern Oregon and love it up there. Have a great weekend.

I was visiting around and stopped by to say hi! I can not believe this is my first visit!! Shame on me!
As a very belated welcome gift, I have brought a pot of Maryland Cream of Crab Soup for you. The pic of your daughter belly dancing made me smile. She looks so carefree and happy! I love your hat in the camping pic, very chic! That's my kind of camping, sitting around the old campfire, while everyone else trudges off to tramp through the woods! Take care...

A MOA FOR DOROTHEA
I find incentive for to write -
silly verses on this site.
But Dorothea is a fan -
so I’ll keep on writing if I can.
For her loyalty now I leave -
a pre-cooked Moa of make-believe.
The bird is big – that’s how it grew –
But please enjoy; it’s one of few.

Dear Dorothea, Today I picked to visit you and gosh I am glad I did...I loved your pictures and wish I could live in San Francisco. It is snowing heavily here but it will all go away soon I hope. Bringing you love...all flowers are gone for now and giving you maple syrup with brandy. My computor table is always a mess too but it is lovely to get in touch with people like you.

Sorry Dorthea! I've just noticed, upon a moment of myopia restoration, that your name is 'Dorthea', not Dorothea. It's infectious as Orianne has done the same. Maybe it's an Internet 'virus'!
I mentioned in my verse I'd sent the Moa. I have been notified of a set-back. It got annoyed about being boxed up and gave a postman a hefty kick. Fortunately he was specifically insured against Moa kicks and is pleased his premium has not been wasted. However the Moa is still alone and sulking, waiting for a brave post-office employee to 'grasp the nettle' and effect delivery. It is a mystery to me how a pre-cooked animal can still be so active - must be a very tough bird. Better add a 'wink' or you might think I've gone loco.

Dorthea - This part of Oregon didn't get dumped on. We got some rain - not heavy. Some wind - the gusts were only up to 35-40 mph, and a couple of temporary power outages - long enought to get the candle out & lit. It is a lot warmer than it has been for the past couple/few weeks - in the 50's & 40's at night.
We live in a strange area - during el niño & la niña we got the same amount of rain - the difference was one was cold fronts the other warm fronts. Our average rain fall is only 20" a year, while where I use to live in So. Cal was 19" a year. It is nothing like the rest of the state.
Believe it or not, there are islands north of Seattle that get very low rain fall and you can see Rainer & the Olympic Pennisula from them.
