Colour better now some of the fluid around her heart has drained away. In the cardiac ward to watch the heart. BP was good but heart rate was a bit fast. Letting her have as much morphine as she wanted which does concern me because of the implications. She does expect to get home on Friday, but for how long I do not know. Things are moving faster than they expected.

JUNE, hugs and more hugs to you and family. I am sorry to hear " going faster than expected" but you know, that could be kinder to your friend, although harder for you and the family. I am glad she is more comfortable from the treatment, I hear the drawing of fluid can be most painful during the procedure, but it does bring relief.

Two cups of coffee during the day will keep you up mights? That is the reason I do de caf coffee, the fully leaded stuff keeps me awake too, says she having her second mug of de caf.

Tami, congratss to the boys on such good scores. You have a right to be proud. Hope they enjoy the new game.

Suzy, so sorry Ali has got to the "hate you" stage. It is a part of growing up, exerting their independence, but boy can they be obnoxious with it. I remember hating my mom, and my oldest hating me, but the middle daughter just moved out and lived with her father. Like that was punishment for me?

Tami, how many m ore days?

off to read my mail, then do some more ffuts here. Hugs to each of you and just want to pamper June in hugs today.

I slept for two hours, then woke as hubby removed my reading glasses. As my brain got active I have now taken a sleeping pill and will go back as it starts to work.
Laura is having as normal a life as possible. Going to school and other activities each day Knows her Mother is very sick, but then it has been like that for most of the last three years. She has also seen her mother in hospital many times before. She hopes to be home again on Friday.
Thanks for all the hugs.
Love reading all the 'normal' chatter!

I'm thinking of doing something a wee bit crazy. Tho' real estate purchases are always a good investment.
There is a modular home on half an acre adjoining my property. It's up for sale right now. I'm thinking of buying it and letting Robert live there rent free. It would make it much easier for him to help me here, and if I wanted to go away for a weekend to visit my aunt, he'd be here to take care of critters for me. I just sent an email to the realtor asking him to contact me about it.

If you can swing it financially Heidi, it sounds like a good idea.

I phoned my doctor today because my right arm and shoulder have a deep ache in them. If I roll over on my right side it wakes me up. The earliest appointment I could get was July 5th, so I guess I've got a while to wait.

Theresa, that is a long time to wait for an Dr. appointment. With our Drs no morning appointments are allocated until that morning, you have to ring up from 8 in the morning to get an appointment, sometimes you will have to go and wait in the waiting room, but if it is important they will see you.

We have a real shortage of doctors here, Brenda. I consider myself lucky just to have a family doctor. In the past my doctor's office told me that if it's urgent, go to a walk-in clinic or to emergency at the hospital. I had bronchitis one time and the earliest appointment I could get was in two weeks, so I ended up going to a clinic in Ottawa.

Theresa, join me in the waiting game, although you have more of a wait than I have had. Eight more days for my appointment (originally it was 3 weeks), and such a wait because he is on vacation, and does not have another doctor covering for him. Instructions are, if it is urgent, go to the urgent care (doc in a box as we call them) or go to the ER. I have really thought about one of those options lately, but I still have pain pills, so will wait it out.
I do hope you have something to take till them, Theresa. Sending get better wishes to you.

I went out to water my plants today, and with the wind blowing today, in the shade it was tolerable. Very low humidity, nice breeze, I actually sat out on porch for a while. Came inside and found temp was 93F 33.8C degrees, but no elevated heat index, It was nice to be outside for a bit. I do hate being cooped up. I get cabin fever in the summertime.

I took the cake out of the freezer, and brushed off dead ants. If there were any hiding, I did not taste them in my desert at lunch time hehehe.

My sister and her hubby have taken their grandson on a vacation. They took grandaughter a few years back, when she was 13, now it is her brother's time. GD went to Grand Canyon, and they wanted to take GS, but he is not much of an outdoor person, would probably be bored. Considering his interests, they decided on the Smithsonian in DC, he loves museums. They will visit other DC sites if he is interested. Sis and BI?L had been to the Smithsonian before and said someday they would return for, oh, about a month. They took their travel trailer/caravan, have reservations at a RV park near by. I do hope the weather stays a bit cooler up there for them. Awaiting reports from them how it is going, but not sure they carried the lap top with them.

Hugs to all, it is time to call hubby in for a feeding. He is out in dome working on computers. It gives him something to do, makes him feel useful again.

Theresa, the walk in clinic sounds like what we call urgent care. Have used the one near us, and walk in till time you are finished, one hour, and most of the time was in treatment room waiting for tests to be run. More expensive, but now I have zero deductible, would not cost me anything to go.

Greetings everyone.
Heidi, if you can swing it, buying the modular sounds like a win/win situation. It could also be a good investment.
June, thoughts going out to you and your friend.
Theresa, hope the pain goes away soon. It does seem like a long time to wait.

They're asking less than $40,000. It's a 3 bedroom, 2 bath and has just been remodeled with new wood floors.

Heidi, I agree, it is time for doc to know about this, I am glad you are going to call. I hope he can fix you right up. The idea of having robert as your next door neighbor sounds good to me. He can walk over to work, and as you said, if you want to leave for a few days, he can feed animals for you. Have you talked to him about this idea yet?

What can I do with grilled chicken to make it different and a bit more exciting? That is what I have for dinner, yet again. I bought and cooked the package thinking Al would be sharing. He ate part of one piece, said, nope, hard to swallow. that left 5 servings for me, instead of 3. Time to look at chicken recipes I think.

See ya again soon, Hugs to each of you with extras for June, Heidi and her ear, Suzy and her sniffles and Theresa and her sore arm. I hope I did not forget anyone else sick and needing them but there are extras so help yourself.

Morning all,
Heidi, I would charge him some rent, not a lot, just for his self respect. You can put it towards repairs he needs on cars etc in the future.

June, when my father died our house was full of people and it was very stressful for everyone, mum was consoling them! They all thought he was lovely and never knew or would have believed that he beat my mother. She sent us to school on the day before the funeral because it got us out of the house and was a bit normal.

MizT, I'm glad you got to sit outside today. There is one place outside I can escape from the freezing wind we have here right now, but I get assaulted by the dogs who are happy to see me so jump all over me- they are big dogs! Good save with the cake... I didn't know that freezing would help and will remember it for future invasions.

Theresa, bummed about your wait for the doc. OUr doc was like that, but then his office got in a couple of newbies. For the big stuff we wait for our doc, for simple stuff we see one of the other doctors. Which reminds me, I need to make an appointment to get new prescriptions! There must be 6 or 7 docs there now.

He would have to pay all his utilities, as well as maintenance, repairs and improvements on the property. It's very nice inside, but it IS only a modular home, just a baby step above a double wide trailer.

Good morning all
It seems that those days are gone, no matter where we live, when we had a family doctor we were comfortable with and who knew the whole family and their medical history, and could get an appointment on the day it was required.
Heidi - that's a great idea about getting the place for Robert. For you, it would be like having a caretaker.
Congrats to the Beastie Boys - they are so clever!
June - it's nice that you like to come here to read the general conversation. It's reassuring because sometimes I think we are all rabbitting on, while such heartbreak is happening. Huge hugs to all of you!!

Heidi, I'm assuming the $40,000 includes the land? Bargain! I know who is going to chuck a fit...

MizT, stir fry, apricot chicken, Gail's curry... that's as far as my non-cooking imagination can take me!

I got a call from a school yesterday, when I answered he said 'this isn't Suanne is it?', yes it is, I have a cold. Well I hope it's better by next week, can you work Tuesday, Wednesday - if I have to drag myself out of bed and attach a drain to my nose!!!!!

Suzy, enjoy teaching next week. Glad you are getting more days. Hopefully you will get a good reputation and that will lead to a permanent job.
Tricia, I know what the heat is like. It is already in the 90's everyday here. I am soooo glad I will be indoors this summer.

MizT, a walk-in clinic is basically for people who don't have or don't want a family doctor. I'm not sure if urgent care is the same. Grilled chicken - how about a chicken Caesar salad or chicken fried rice?

Tami, I too would like to be a fly on the wall ...

Heidi, there's no way we could get anything comparable for that price here.

More work Suzy -- way to go.

I find being on the computer hard on my arm/shoulder, as well as crafts like knitting. Sometimes the wrist hurts, so it could be carpal tunnel syndrome. I just didn't think the pain would be so high up in the arm. I also get spasms, sometimes at very inconvenient times (like while I'm taking a sip of a drink).

Tami, your kids are going to be very successful, get high paying jobs, and keep you and your husband in the style to which you would like to become accustomed.

TTT: enjoy the last couple of days of school! The boys beat me at bowling when I was there in Florida a few years ago. My scores HAVE improved!
Saw my agent Melody today, listing shoud be done by tonite.
Had more to say, can't remember.
Saw something on Yahoo! earlier. Young boy holding sign pointed at his brother at a Texas Rangers baseball game.
Sign says "Hey Rangers, hit my brother, win my piggy bank." Thought that was funny!!
