Your secret is safe with me Gail, though I think I would have been tempted to borrow a 4x4 to tease her with.

Gail, I will keep the secret. A great surprise for your daughter and a wonderful treat for you and hubby.
Learning how to work the lymphatic system today so I can give 'friend' easy massages to help drain the excess fluid from her arms and legs. Not easy with my arthritic thumbs but I just have to forget about those. I do not have to go till about lunch time tomorrow as her Partner is taking her to tomorrows appointments.
I hope for an early night and plenty of sleep. I have already turned on the blanket so the bed will be warm!

Tr4y to use the ball of your palm June. I can't use my thumbs either when I rub hubby's back, but I find I can last a bit longer using my palms.
I wish there was something we could do for you all, I cannot even imagine what you must be feeling every single day xoxoxoxoxoxo

Evening all.
We had a wonderful lovely relaxing weekend away up in the Hills, the Weather was perfect. :)
This evening we were supposed to be out to restaurant for dinner to farewell the boys, unfortunately boy's friend's mum hurt her back, and the kids took her to hospital. So the dinner was cancelled. :(

Morning all. I went to D's at the usual time this morning to help with the girls. D said she is going to try to do it all herself, so I came home. I did not get a call from her and I saw the grandies at the bus stop, so all must have been OK. So perhaps from now on I will only be looking after them before or after school if D has an appointment.

June, I say this just as your life is getting more and more complex. Hugs from me - I wish I was rich and could fly over to help you. I think about you many times a day.

June - big hugs from me to you. I wish I could fly down there to help some way too.
Theresa - it looks like the light is at the end of the tunnel! Good news!
Gail - I'd go for a sporty little model over a 4WD any time. Good on you - enjoy!
Night all! Sleep well - particularly you, June!

I've gotta leave to pick up Robert, since he no longer has transportation. He wants to put in as many hours as possible so he can get another car. He only had liability insurance on the truck, so it's a dead loss.

Heidi, do you know any details about the wreck> Did his epilepsy play any part perhaps? It is good of you to pick him up for work. How is the thumb? How is the ear?

June, Hugs to you as you learn a new skill. Is a medication named Voltaren gel available there? Chemical name diclofenac sodium topical gel 1%. It is an anti-inflammatory, pain relieving gel that even I can use, cause so little is absorbed systemically, but it really helps my thumbs. Thought it might help your thumbs after doing the massage. It is prescription here, the orthopedic surgeon who did my thumb gave it to me with lots of refills.

Boy did I sleep last night! about 10 hours, but was up for about 30 minute intermission about 5 am. A good night's sleep really helps what ails you.

Was late getting started this morning, why I am so late checking in today. Again, hubby sat and played word games on puter waiting on me to come make his cocoa.

Theresa, so glad daughter was able to manage the grandies this morning. Have you figured out what to do with yourself with all the extra time? How is your weather? any chance of sending cool wet weather this way?

My flowers are having a hard time, even with water once a day. I think a few are now needing water twice a day, they looked so droopy this morning. Perked up once i watered them. I could not find my water absorbing granules this spring, am sure I had some left somewhere, those would really help now.

Nothing new or exciting going on, but I have had enough excitement with Al sick, I am happy with dull and boring same ole same hehehe.

Hugs to each of you and extras for June and family and anyone else needing them.

Tricia, I can get the Voltarin jel (and some tablets) from the pharmacy and I have used it and some other jels as well. A lot of the massage can be done without using my thumbs. I have slept for 5 hours and will go back and get some more. Will be home this morning to get some jobs done. My son and family will be flying up from Melbourne on Thursday night so have to get all the beds etc ready for them.

The truck was a FORD. I warned Robert against getting one (I consider them evil), but he said that's what he wanted. On Thursday, as he was approaching a major intersection, he had a total systems failure in the truck.... no brakes, no steering, no down shifting.... nothing. He went right thru' the busy intersection (he had a red light) at 50 MPH / 80 KPH, and into a steel light pole. And no, he was not wearing a seat belt. Everybody at the scene was shocked that he was alive. People are still shocked that he came out of it with only bruises. The epilepsy played no part.

My finger (the one next to the pinky, not the thumb) is feeling OK since it is immobilized in a metal splint. The ear is driving me a bit crazy since it's still draining out large amounts of fluid which runs down my neck. Four days of draining is a bit much, and a bit messy.

Heidi, I know you cannot put anything into the ear to catch the flow, but what about a gauze pad loosely over the ear to help catch the drainage?? It would be maddening I know. Are you on antibiotics for the ear infection? Perhaps they are not doing a good job? If it were me, I would call the doc office to ask if it should be still draining so very much. In any event, it is better the drainage is outside instead of trapped in.

I'm looking at it as "better out than in". I knew there was a lot of fluid inside, so it's good that it's draining out. I keep mopping up the fluid with tissues, but they get soaked quickly. If it's still draining after a week, I'll call the Doctor. And no, I'm not on antibiotics.

Suzanne, sounds like you have a lot on your plate.

MizT, you don't want our weather right now - too hot and humid. Rain is in the mix for tomorrow (maybe) - I'll see what I can do.

Now that I don't have to help D as much, it's time to do things for me. I need to get some medical appointments out of the way. I also need to give this house a thorough cleaning. I need to get back to the one-box-per-month cleaned out, but I'm hoping for one box a week or every two weeks. However, once school is out I might need to take the girls to various activities, to the park, etc. There will always be something to take up my time.

Good Morning my friends.
June, I hope you were able to get back to sleep. Love and Hugs to all the family.
MizT, hope you cope with the heat better than your flowers. Is it possible to prepare Al's drink the night before?
Theresa, so happy D is getting confident enough to try things on her own.
Heidi, let us know what the doc says about your ear. Funny, I had a mental picture of Robert as a skinny weedy type, sure the extra padding helped protect him.
Must be off, my friend Teresa is coming over for breakfast. Haven't seen her in over a month so will have a lot of catching up to do.

Morning all,
Well the tech gurus couldn't tell me how to upload just music so I can't share the radio show with you. Unless we put their music on itunes, which would be another new challenge for me with I suspect implications other than technical stuff. The songs themselves are supposed to be on the radio station website, but they weren't there yesterday afternoon when I checked. powerfm.com.au If anyone finds them, please help me - they were on the Elle and Ricardo morning show.

Broni, Gail never puts up pics of her stuff, she's slack!

June, I hope you are able to do the massages without too much discomfort.. more hugs ♥ You don't want me anywhere near you right now, no matter how much help you need - I'd be coughing and spluttering all over you!

Tami, hope the last 4 days of school are fun - here the kids won't do anything and the teachers tend to plan fun activities..

Rolanda, I'm glad you had a nice weekend away. Thoughts and wishes to the injured Mum ♥

Theresa, good news about your daughter, getting her independence back seems like it would be an important part of her recovery, and your sanity!!

MizT, it may be time to have a gently chat to Al about how it is getting to be time for him to help out a little. You wore yourself to the bone while he was going through treatment and you don't recover from that in a day or two, or even a week or two..

Heidi, give Robert a kick in the butt from me! He couldn't help the mechanical problems with the truck, but driving without a seatbelt is just plain dumb! I'd be dead without them so am emphatic about this one!!! Like the others I imagined him as skinny or weedy, 118kg is big! Will have to readjust my psychie now.

Hello to everyone else I forgot to mention. You are all in my thoughts, even if I forget to say hi. Gotta go fling food at the beastie boys. Catch you all later.
