#5000
Hollie fell asleep yesterday evening right after my last post about her, and is still sleeping soundly. It's a lot better than being scared or confused. I'll wake her up in a couple of hours, if she isn't already awake, to feed her. Unlike the other dogs, she gets only canned dog food (a pound a day) to eat, because she won't eat the dry dog food which is out 24/7.

It's raining here - just lightly. There's also a risk of a T-storm, but we won't talk about that. The long range forecast says we won't see the sun again until Monday. Hope it's sunny for the wedding.

I have the youngest grandie after school. Off to get some ffuts done.

We'll miss you Broni.

Good afternoon everyone.
Broni, we will miss you. Hope you can pop your head in occasionally to let us know you are OK.
Theresa, hope the wedding goes well. I think I heard that it is good luck for it to rain on your wedding day. Don't remember were I heard it, but if it does rain, think of it as good luck

Someone is going to blame me for breaking the site and it is not my fault.

There is a fire about a block and a half from our house. The smoke is thick in the air. I haven't gone to look because I don't want to be "one of those". My nose actually hurts from the smoke. There is a small apartment building in that area - hope everyone is OK. So far four fire trucks, fire and rescue vehicle, ambulances and police. There are just too many trees in the way for me to see it.

Tami, you did break it this time. That's what you get for not making brownies!!!!

My bad, Theresa. If I had made brownies, you would have told me I poisoned them or something. Hope every thing is ok in your neighborhood.

I wouldn't do that, Tami. I would eat your brownies whether they were poisoned or not.

Some of my cats are going a little bit nutsy - climbing high up on things, meowing a lot, sneezing. I think the smoke is getting to them. Another fire truck just went by - must be a big fire.

Theresa, I hope that there are no injuries. Please let us know what you find out later. Stay inside and keep the windows closed. You don't need to breathe in any more smoke than necessary.

Morning all,
Broni, I will miss you! I hope you get a few minutes to drop in from home.. Our connection isn't as slow as it used to be, but it's expensive. And the really annoying thing about that is that the racecourse 2km down the road has ADSL2!!! They can't go 2km past the gamblers?? People another km south of us have ADSL2 too! We're this little pocket nobody wants... whine over..

Brenda, it wouldn't help to have a sound proof area for Alie because she is always singing! This morning she was singing coat of many colours in the bathroom. Other days it's maria, or whatever song is stuck in her head.

Congratulations on your new car! Did you get to help pick it? A weekend seems a long time when waiting for something like that. I'm not sure you'd want it to have the new car smell though, apparently that is caused by carcinogens.

lol Heidi, you made me snigger with your 'miscounting'!

I'm glad Hollie is getting a nice sleep. Your average dog owner would have had her put to sleep by now. You are the most patient person with dogs that I have ever heard of. Just thought of a possible exception - I have friends who believe dogs know when it's their time to go and so don't believe in helping them go to sleep - they used to hold up their little dogs butt so it could go to the toilet when it couldn't stand anymore.

Theresa, I think by now I might have walked down for a peek, not to hang around, but to see what was happening and then leave. I'm not one of 'those' people either, but I am too curious for my own good.

Nothing exciting planned for my day. I am going to start on the lounge room today - all of Alie's stuff is going to be dumped on her bedroom floor - I've had enough of it!!

Just hear5d on the local news, Japan has had another earthquake, I think a 6.9 and it has triggered a tsunami warning for Japan only. I do hope there are no injuries. Going now to see if any news online about it.

Remember just a few years ago when we did not know what a tsunami was, and surely could not spell it? Since then, just too many of them.

Home from the mamogram and the MRI. Doc should know something by next week, and I already have appointment to find out. Back is really acting up now.

Yes, Heidi is most patient with all her animals. they are each one lucky to have her for "mom".

I'm not going to let Hollie suffer. She still seems to be enjoying most of life, except the storms. And she is able to get around by herself now.

All this exciting activities inside the house begins today...well, once I have done the morning chores, and I also need to do a bit of prunning out the front, near the house, in order for the 'Workers' to be able to tackle the 'House Facelift'

I probably won't hear anything until tomorrow, if then. The smoke has dissipated. It's coolish and rainy outside, so it wasn't too bad having the windows closed.

I dropped my supper on the floor. It was only leftovers, but ... guess I'll have a bowl of soup.

You need dogs, Theresa. Sure, you would still have lost your supper, but you wouldn't have had to clean it up off the floor.

Heidi, good point. Not a thing falls on my floor that Harley doesn't clean up for me. Our first dog, Beau, realized real quickly to sit under the high chair and wait to be fed.

I'm back. Got my puter back today but I'm mad at the stupid store. They didn't back-up any of my email program. Good thing - they didn't charge for the repair. They said it was covered on warranty. It wasn't supposed to be. I won't complain about that.

One more day of school for Amber then we are done. It felt like a very long year. I have most of next year ordered. Hopefully Canada Post will get back to work soon so we can get the science books. The rest gets delivered to a post box in the States, no mail strike there.

My mom is feeling much better now. I was visiting with her yesterday and she looks a lot better, too. She hasn't been to her doctor yet, so no results of her CT scan.

Weather isn't the greatest. It has been a bit warmer and hasn't rained so we haven't had to light the woodstove for a few days.

Got to run, supper is ready.

I want to get a dog once we retire, and perhaps move down to the family farm (which is no longer a farm). I think it would have to be a smaller dog because with my arthritis I wouldn't be able to walk a large dog the way they should be walked. The dog would be more for company and to let us know if someone is on the property.

Well, I am off to bed. It's still fairly early, but I'm a bit achey because of the rain and humidity. Hubby is working and won't be home until after 11:00.

Just popping in to say Hello! Where does the time go each day? Reading page 122 because I'm getting more and more behind here.

MizT, congrats to the new parents and grandparents! Great way to start my reading! I hope your birthday dinner with Al and Joy was wonderful. In case I missed your birthday, Happy Birthday, Sweetie! Hope you enjoy this cyber cake and bouquet !

Suzy, hope things are going better in your neck of the woods. Theresa is right; parents need to have a united front.

June, thinking of you and your friend and hoping the trip to the snow can take place!

OMG, Suzy, the Teddy Bear's Picnic; haven't heard that in years, but could put the words to the music, although I'm also confused by the marriage. Just two compulsive souls, I guess.

Hoping all who have been dealing with achies are feeling better, all who have not been sleeping well are getting more sleep, all who have been dealing with those who don't understand situations will soon be understood!

Sending lots of prayers, positive thoughts, and {{{{{HUGS}}}}} for everyone!

I hope to get back on a more normal schedule after the weekend. We'll see. Good Night from here!

I've got the same task to do as you Rolanda. The hall/stairs/landing carpet has now been fitted so I have no excuse not to start sorting out all the junk/valuable collectables and getting the house back into neat order. Or maybe I should say as neat as we will ever be. My one excuse for not doing it is 'I'm Lazy'!!

Morning all. Coffee is ready, help yourself.
Broni, when you are done with your gninaelc, you can come and help me with mine. Decluttering was one of the things on my summer to do list, and I have not started. Why do today what you can put off until tomorrow.
