I had suspected Suzi would be at the service, but how wonderful to also find Gail and Kate. As well as Sharon's friends , workmates and scouts we had so much support from the bowling and baseball friends. There was food left over, so the catering, with help from friends and family was adequate. I have sent some of the service and eulogy to a couple of you whose Email address I have. I just have to get the rest of it over to my computer. There were over 400 people there. I should sleep well tonight.

Cyn, ((HUGS)) pleased you found your mother lucid and managed to say your goodbyes whilst she recognised you (even though she did insult you), hope your brother makes it in time too.
June, I always believe once you have said your final farewells to a loved one you then start to heal. You never get over the loss, but life starts to take on a more normal routine. ((HUGS)) Remember we are always here to listen.

I'm happy now. My massage chair is back from being repaired. I've had a full back massage and a stretch massage too. My back feels good at the moment.
Now I really have top get my butt into gear and get the house sorted and get packed to go away tomorrow.

I am tired. When we got home my son had a friend here to look after the boys. However they opened a bottle of drink and talked loudly all afternoon. The kiddies were playing with water bombs which was OK but the adults loud chatter was getting on my nerves. Son decided Laura could sleep in the room with the boys. That has not helped them to go to sleep!! Parents have gone out, hopefully the Little's have gone to sleep. I just wanted some quiet time.

Good Morning friends. It is a cooler more pleasant day today. We had a big widespread rain system come through late afternoon, evening, and temps dropped into the 70's (daytime, unbelievable) for those who had rain, while those who did not were roasting at 100 with a feel like of 110+. The morning starts much cooler today, I should take my coffee and go outside.

June, I do hope you are sleeping soundly. It was good the grandchildren could play and release some pent up energy and just be children a while, but so sorry all the noise interrupted your rest.

Gail and Kate, sorry I did not include you in my first thanks to Suzy for being there with June, but I did not know! So here is your official Thank You and more thanks for giving June that hug from all of us!

Cyn, precious moments with your Mom, so happy for you that she was "there" and could talk to you. I do hope your brother gets there in time. Hugs to you and your family.

Julie, do not worry about not reading and posting here. I am surprised you even made it for a fast "checking in" kind of post, with the wedding so close. Best Wishes to the bride and groom, and I hope the wedding goes off splendidly.

Brenda, glad you got the massage chair repaired. My recliner has massage and heat, but it is not working properly, only half the chair works. I forget if it is top or bottom half, it has been so long broken. I cannot find a repairman for it! Could you send yours over please? Enjoy your "new" chair, glad it helped your back.

I still do not have an appointment with a GI doc. Someone from their office did return my call yesterday, but it was while Al and I had gone to town. I could not put off going another day, Had waited till late afternoon. I needed Milk for his formula. For him, that is like the cupboards being completely bare, nothing in the house to eat!

Speaking of formula, I should go and make his hot chocolate ( formula heated in a cup for drinking) and do the other 2 feedings, since he is awake now. Hugs to each of you, with special ones for June, and Cyn and anyone else who needs them. Till later today.

Morning all. Coffee is ready, help yourself.

For those of you who don't go to easy, Debby posted a little earlier that she is a grandma. I copied her post.

"I AM A GRANDMA! Our granddaughter was born yesterday at 2:28 in the afternoon. She weighes 7 pounds 6 ounces and is 20 inches long. She is just beautiful. She and mom are both doing ok."

What Theresa said!!!!

How are the cravings now, Theresa? Are you beating them into submission? Have you found a substitute for the habit of using your hands for smoking? That's a hard thing to break. Almost as hard to fight as the craving for nicotine itself. I remember feeling agitated when my hands were unoccupied. That feeling is dramatically increased by the lack of cigarettes. Smoking is very calming and soothing and that's a hard feeling to want to lose.

I'm back. Had a nice day with my friend and got the boys new t-shirts. Mitchell's favorite store had a sale, buy 1 get 2 free. So Mitchell, Dylan and Hubby each got a new shirt.

Morning all,
I had a happy ending to my sad, but also lovely, day. It was lovely to hear all of the amazing things Sharon has achieved and to see the love and support. June, if you typed up the stuff that was read at the funeral, I would love to have a copy of it. It was also nice to see my SA friends in person again. Can never get enough of that!

My happy ending nearly didn't happen. Hubby sent me a text asking if I wanted to go out last night, then he said, on second thoughts I'm feeling lazy. I had been hearing about a show that was going to be held at the local entertainment centre that sounded fun, and only $10 a ticket! I texted him about that, told him I thought Alie would enjoy it too, and he got tickets for it. So glad we went! I was worried I'd fall asleep, but not a chance. They were so talented and funny! Two guys who used all sorts of things to make music, with the help of a loop machine, and were able to make beautiful music with real instruments too! One guy played the saxophone and the flute beautifully, then played two tiny little recorders with his nose! The contrast was hilarious. Even Alie, who had also had a big day, loved it! She doesn't like surprises so when we told her she had half an hour to get ready for the show she wasn't really impressed. But, afterwards she agreed that it would be a good idea to surprise her like that more often.

Wonderful, Suzy, sounds like you had a great night!
Thank you so much for getting me to the airport on time :)))

Hubby didn't end up going 'on' last night, so he is going to set up soon, then I am heading down the the 'Save our Kinder building' rally and free sausage sizzle. I made hubby drive by the site last night when we got back to town from the airport, I was so nervous that the council had gone ahead and demolished it, but no, she is still standing and we have a reprieve of a few days. Some very wonderful people have set up a camp and are maintaining overnight vigils to let us know when demo crews turn up so we can stand in front of the bulldozers!!!

I am posting a few links if you are interested as to the history of this building and why we want it saved, also of the brave lengths townsfolk are willing to go to to save it.

Unfortunately, this one is fb so some wont be able to read them, and the first is very long.

Hi everyone!
Gail, very busy day - glad you could be there for the funeral.
We're heading off shortly - visiting Mum for her birthday. Not that she will know or care ... but we can take her out for lunch and at least give my brother a few minutes of quiet time. We'll get her some nice flowers - she always loves flowers. :)
Hope you all have a good day.

Heidi, today is a difficult day. Yesterday was great. I just find I am tired very often and on bad days I am kind of weepy. When I'm tired I nap - at least when I'm sleeping I'm not wishing I had a ciggie. And Suzy is right - on the patch I am having some very weird dreams. In one dream I was being romanticly pursued by Charlie Sheen. I don't particularly like Charlie Sheen. Why couldn't it have been George Clooney?

Gail... the first thought that flashed through my head was the beginning of The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy, where the local council is trying to demolish Arthur Dent's house to make room for a bypass, and Arthur lays in front of a bulldozer to stop them. (The TV series was better than the movie.)
