P and I are doing the 'house cleaning'.. not that it really needs it..
Am getting weary about having the place 'on show 24/7'!

Today would have been my Dad's 95th birthday ( he died when he was 78).

My Uncle (mum's brother) who turned 95, 4 days ago, apparently has Pancreas Cancer. As usual we here in the West were not told when they (the Eastern Staters Family) found out earlier in the Year.

How is your Mum after her latest jaunt, Rolanda?

Gail, I think she is doing ok (have not heard otherwise)..
She had a wonderful time. Saw her name on the Wall, in Darling Harbour (she arrived on the boat from Holland into Sydney).
So Happy she got to see the Boy (everyday for 4 days), and told me over and over how well he looked and how happy he is.
She has Specialist Appt on Wed Morning, so she will be staying overnight Tuesday Night..

We have MIL coming this afternoon, with one of her best girl friend (they have been friends since they were teens).
Auntie N is staying with MIL for a few days, and wants to check out the House, before it is sold.
They will stay and have early dinner with us.
So I am busy in the Kitchen cooking up a storm ~ well doing all the prep work..
Veal Schnitzel, Potato Dauphinois, Cauliflower/Broccoli Cheese, Steamed Carrots, and for Sweets.. Pear Crumble and Custard.

Once again, a huge thank you to Broni and Poss for hosting another wonderful gathering of Axe Murderers Anonymous. We had a wonderful meeting with Amelia and Bill and their friends Jeff and Judy. Good food, good company - just what the doctor ordered - for me anyway. Photos later when hubby downloads them.

Very quick update on Mum - didn't see her today but my brother spent most of the afternon with her. She was in and out of consciousness and he found it very hard - both to handle it and to understand what she was trying to say but he thinks she was trying to tell him it was time to go. He told her it was OK to go. If she gets through the night we're all trying to get there together tomorrow to reassure her it's OK to go.
Being very honest here - so not looking forward to the next few days/weeks. Thanks for being here for me when I need you all.

Dealing with two adults with hang overs, two overactive boys who cannot keep there hands away from one another and Laura as well is getting me more stressed out than I have been for months. I just need some peace to be able to grieve.

Thinking of you and your Mum Cyn. It is so hard to say that final goodbye, even when you know it is for the best.

June, big hugs to you too. You don't need the stress right now. I can't help with the adults but I have experience with boys who can't keep their hands off each other. Remember, I teach middle school in a not-so-nice area. Tell them I will give them detentions if they don't behave

Just back from the country, and boy I'm tired! But there's been a new development with Mum! My sister sent her flowers as a birthday present, and Mum rang her to thank her! Actually talked to her nicely for a while, too ... D. was so surprised she says she couldn't think clearly, but she was quite excited ... So, maybe one day we can take D. with us when we go to visit? Sounds simple, but ... well, we'll keep working on it. It would be so wonderful to have a bit of our family back together again. :)

Judy, glad you had a nice day and that your mum is doing well. She must have really liked the flowers.

Gail, you are as bad as me, out of bed at this time of night. I think I might just take a pill before I go back. Only had two so far in the last couple of months.

I would have given the hung over adults aspirin and told them to deal with it and entertain the rowdy boys too. I am not as nice as you are

Rolanda, the open house was just a week ago? And you are tired of keeping the house show ready already?? Then you do not want to hear about my friend, who had her home on the market for 2 years, and never knew when the agent would call and bring in lookers. she said that was the hardest thing she had ever done, that she could not even leave a casserole dish to soak in the sink. Thankfully, house sold last month. NOW she is cleaning her new home, those owners did not leave that house as spotless as friend did hers for the new owners. I do hope yours sells soon, it is a lovely home, and it shows well, should make it easy to sell. good for P. for helping clean this weekend.

Judy, glad you had a good trip, and it is encouraging that Mom did ring D. Perhaps it is a beginning.

Cyn, thinking of you. I know how hard it is to ell your loved one it is OK to go. I have done it twice, with FIL and Mom. It is the best gift you can give a failing friend.

Ahhh, come on Tami, you could do better than threatening detention for those naughty boys. I know you could.

Today is cloudy, perhaps it will be cooler than yesterday was. Well, till late afternoon anyway. there was a t storm come by about 20-30 miles west of us. We got the wind off it, 18 mph sustained with gusts of over 30 mph. I sat on my porch and watched the trees dance. Wind would be from the north, then the south, had the trees really going. Theresa, NO THUNDER, just wind, you might could have joined me to watch. Temp dropped about 20 degrees, the humidity was blown away, and it was nice. Well till dusk, anyway, then the skeeters came out.

Al and I play a word game on computer together, How many words you can make from 6 letters. If you get the 6 letter word, you carry over your points to next game. If not, back to zero/ Today we ran up the most points ever! I forget what word did us in, but I do remember it was one I asked "what the hey does that mean?" I need to access an online dictionary on that puter, so we can look up some of those words. anyway, Al was very pleased that we got a new high score for a game.

All I can remember at the moment, so I shall be off to find something to do. Hugs to eash of you, till later.

Heidi, glad you do not now have as bad a problem with the dogs and thunderstorms. I know it makes your life a bit easier. Scratch behind an ear or two for me, please. I like collies.

Typical Saturday for me. Just picked Dylan up from baseball practice and dropped Mitchell off at basketball practice.

Just got the tires from my 2 wheeled cart repaired. This cart is super light weight, and easy for Buddy to pull. I'm going to try to drive him tomorrow, for the first time in 3 years. His leg looks healed now.

Heidi, I hope you and Buddy have a good ride tomorrow.
