Morning all,
June, big hugs! Can I come up and kick their butts for their lack of consideration?

Cyn, big hugs for you! I'm happy that you got to 'say goodbye', but really wish you didn't have to.

Tami, my Saturdays are usually free of kid things. They're usually all on during the week! Almost every night at the moment..

Speaking of which, no more time... Alie and Grace are backing Taylah in one of her things to do with her singing lessons... off to the Golf Club..

Good Night friends! Time to call it a day, well, almost.

Today we had a little sprinkle of rain, and it did not cool down the temps at all. Just increased the humidity. I hate when it happens that way. Cooler now, Humidity down, no "feels like" temp at all.

Gail, you were all alone with hubby and on the computer??

Suzy, Moms are the last to know. Hope Allie and Forever Archie had a good night.

Did we even hear from June today? I do hope she got some peace and quite today.

Hugs to each of you, with extras, till tomorrow.

My sons court case is still dragging on.
He is about to start the traffic offenders program and returns to court on Oct. 17th for the sentencing.
He starts this program next Thursday Aug.11th on day of his 18th birthday.
The Avon is going really well.
I got my invite to the Banquet which is the 24th August and this year it is here at Rydges Motel which is lovely.
Husband still working and still a pain at times.

I am finally on the public waiting list for a total left knee replacement.
Very very painful the last six months.
Then about 4 months ago I slipped over on the kitchen floor and my lower back was paining me.
It got worse and one night I went to emergency but they couldnt help me but fill me with drugs and still I could feel the pain.
My right leg and foot would go numb as well.
To cut a long story short I changed doctors and had a CT scan.
It appears I have 3 bulging discs in the lower back and the one paining me the worst has severe osteo arthritis in it and it is pressing on the nerve that goes down my leg.
Dr gave me cortisone, endone and something else but like before it does nothing for the pain.
So now starting this week physio but think I will go to the neurosurgeon in Newcastle and get his opinion.
It is bad enough I cannot walk properly with the left leg but this is now ridiculous.

OK - latest on Mum is that she is still going - I wouldn't say strong but the nursing staff and my sister seem to think she still may have a few days left. Had a bad night last night because I still felt there was more to say. Today Col and I spent hours with her and she seemed to be so close to going. Then my brother and SIL, and my sister and BIL arrived. She woke up and was happy to see us all. After a while our spouses left my sis, bro and I with her. We had at least an hour with her, talking and laughing about our childhood, with her as involved as she could possibly be in her condition. It was like her last party and was wonderfully satisfying to us all. If she goes tonight or tomorrow or next week I will feel happy that we had this afternoon.
Just back from dinner for the 6 of us at a nice Turkish restaurant.

Good Morning Friends. Good to see Viv here once again, but so sad her health problems are part of why she has been gone so long. Hope your surgery comes around sooner than later. Big hugs to Viv today.

Cyn, you deserve big hugs too. those tender bitter sweet moments at end of life, glad this was a good one for you and your siblings.

Gail, just had to post before shutting down the computer? Know the feeling, I think we all do it, check in with SA to see if we missed anything.

Time to start the day, get Al's feedings ready is first priority, then we will see what else unfolds. Really need to go grocery shopping, today or tomorrow, we will see.

Hugs to each of you, with extras.

Great to see Viv here, but not so great to hear about her ordeal of pain. Glad you found a better Doc, Viv, but you NEED to discuss pain management with him/her. There are options. ((((( Gentle HUGS )))))

Daughter and her family are gone to Toronto for 2 nights and 3 days. I am dog sitting and cat sitting. I will be spending the nights there because their dog is older and sometimes needs to go out during the night. Their place is air conditioned, so I won't mind in the least.

Gekko All,
Glad to see Vi was able to find her way back, but boy it had to be a painful trip...Vi, so sorry that you've had so much trouble recently and do hope you can work with the doctors to get some pain relief soon! Know that we care.♥

June, glad you will soon have some of the peace and quiet you have been looking for, but please know that too much quiet can often work against you... We are as near as your puter if you need a shoulder...but I know that there is joy to be found in quiet moments too...I do wish you the joy in finding them.♥

CynB...I'm so glad that your family has had those moving moments to hold onto as you all walk this final road with your mum, and that she was able to be 'there' with you. It's really a good feeling not to say' I wish I had said... even if its not understood by the recipient, always share your loving feeling while you can. My shoulder is big enough for you too, plus all of the others that are at the ready if you feel the need. ♥

Loving hugs to all that need or want them, 'just because', are always ready ladies. May your joys be greater than your challenges...or may you have date nights where you say 'the heck with turning the puter on..or off'....just saying Gail...LOL.

Harnessed up Buddy to go for his first drive in 3 years. He enjoyed it tremendously..... until he threw a shoe. We walked back home... 3 miles... so he wouldn't injure the hoof. It did get a little sore but no permanent damage. At least he didn't throw the shoe on his previously injured hoof.

Cyn, so glad you had a nice "remember when" visit with your mom and siblings. My mom had dementia to the point where she didn't know her family for 6 months before her passing, so I never had the chance to have that with her. She always looked at us with this tormented look on her face. My mom also had TIAs as part of her vascular dementia.

I think I might have mentioned this before, and if so feel free to skip this part. I was the baby of the family and often my mom did not tell me things because she was always trying to protect me, even when I was an adult. On Nov. 10/99 I got a call from the nursing home saying mom had been brought to the infirmary and that I should contact my siblings. My 2 sisters and I spent the rest of the day there, and all night, constantly talking to mom and telling her it was okay to let go. Around 2:00 p.m. on Nov. 11 my hubby stopped in and I went home with him to get a few things done - I was planning on being gone only 15 minutes or so. I got back to the nursing home just before 2:15 and mom had passed away at 2:10. I think she had waited until I left because she was still trying to protect me.

Good afternoon all. It has been a busy day. Hubby played softball (they lost) and then we went to see his parents. Driving home it started to storm and there was no place to pull over. Drove in the worst rain I could remember. Could not see more than 15-20 feet in front of car. Luckily it did not last too long.

Morning all,
Viv, sorry to hear about your pain! I hope the neurosurgeon is able to do something for you.

Does your son have a clean traffic record other than this one booboo? If he does and is really good between now and the court case he might get off as a first offender.

Gail, definitely TMI, and wondering about coming back to the computer before going to sleep!

Tami, my mother used to say that, I say it now too, but I add 'when I was your age'.. lol

June, hope a quiet day gives you a chance to catch up with yourself. You are being so strong for everyone else it seems like it's time you were the one you thought of for a little while...

I need to get to the post office to pick up some parcels before they return them to sender! Catch you all later!
