Well, THAT was tiring. Challenger had way too much energy, and was hard to handle at the Vet's. So when we got home, I harnessed him up and took him for a 4 mile trot. He's still raring to go. Tomorrow I'll drive Buddy over to the Vet Clinic. I decided to get up-to-date papers on him as a back-up, in case Challenger gets a bruise or something. Buddy is my game little Morgan.

Hi everyone. I'm getting organised to go away by spending today with my mother and later going to watch the football with my brothers. Tomorrow, after church, we'll go visit MIL. I think I'll probably have time to pack tomorrow night. At least the clothes are clean if not ironed.
Have a lovely weekend all!

Morning all,
I was shattered to hear your news MizT and hope there is a good option available to you and Al. I guess we'll know when you do. Big hugs!!!

Julie, feel free to use my comment. It's kinda nice to think I may have said something useful!

Heidi, what everyone else said - rest that back so this epidural lasts!! Do what you're told girl!

Vicki, when I think preparing to go away, I think wash clothes, buy travel size stuff and things like that. I guess there are some benefits to only having one parent left and she lives a long way away..

Okay, I've had requests from some of the people I've been talking to. Locals I mean. I tell them the judges preferred Alie's original song and they have asked me to put it up so they can hear it. The problem is we forgot to record the beginning (parents get nervous too) and although hubby remembered quicker than I did, the recording jumps all over the place and can make you sick. If you listen, I recommend you don't watch it very much.

Julie, I will miss you too. Be safe wherever you gonna be for a whole 10 days!

Suzy, saw the videos, I like her voice! Very good job. Now, I also ask, how did she do in the competition? Good experience no matter the outcome. Glad you put up both videos, such different songs, and she did them equally well.

Night Tami. Not sure I am ready to turn in just yet, I fell asleep in front of the TV earlier.

Suanne, the cool part of your day sounds just fine, but rainy? Not my cup of tea. I am glad you enjoyed it though.

Suzy, still no definate word about the clinical trials for AL. We did get a phone call from one of the docs running one of the studies. It may be he does not qualify for this one, because of a medication he received during his first chemo. they are checking with his chemo doc to see. I once had papers on what medications he had, but no idea where now.

Did I mention before I got antibiotics for that boil on my back? Well, I again have thrush, yeast in=fection of the mouth. I spike with my doc's nurse today, she got me the swish and swallow medication, but that takes so long, espically if one cannnot do the 4 times a day every day. So I asked about the pill you can take for a vaginal yeast, would that work. she said I could try it. Throat and mouth feel better tonight, not shre which did it, but I am again hungry. Was just like a kid, sore throat, I do not want to eat. I think I saw a tad of ice cream in freezer, that sounds good. BAD TRICIA hehehe.

Hugs to each of you, till tomorrow.

MizT, I really hope Al can get into one of the clinical trials. With my science background I can understand why they have to control the 'variables', but wish they could make exceptions and just not include the results! You never know they may find a new combination they hadn't considered!

I'm glad you got the yeast pill, that was all I did and it seemed to work. I never did get to the doc with mine so I probably should check...

What you said about Alie is what one of the organisers said. She sang her own song, then the performance song and sounded just as good with both - what would her style be??? The judges seemed to prefer her own song, but that probably had as much to do with the fact she wrote it herself and that is an additional talent.

She was one of 4 who made it through to the Grand Final, which is in 3 weeks. When she was finished on Thursday I looked at Don and said 'If she gets through, how is she going to top that?'. They are the 2 songs she most enjoys performing. And she will sit there and tell you all of the notes she missed..

Lucky me, I get to be serenaded for the next 2 weeks as she tries out the new songs..

Tomorrow she has just been invited to busk at a school fete. They get to keep any money they make, it's just to help create an atmosphere.

I am SO impressed by Alie's talent, Suzy! Doing well at the Grand Final will do great things for her self confidence. I remember that not too long ago, she was being bullied. Now she has left those loser bullies far behind and is a poised young lady.

Morning all. Coffee is ready, help yourself.

I actually slept in today, almost to 8:30. What a treat.

Viv, that temperature sounds wonderful it is still in the 90's here (32-35 c) I can't wait for it to start cooling off.

Suzy, Alie has really grown up in the last few years. Her voice has gotten better and you can see how poised she is on stage.

Tricia, keeping you and Al in my thoughts. I also hope they find a way to put him in the clinical trial.

Hello to everyone else I did not mention by name. I think of all of you, even if I don't mention you.

Morning all. Woke up aching in various ans sundry spots. I took some Tylenol but so far it hasn't helped a great deal. We are taking the grandies to a fair this afternoon - hope they have a lot of benches where I can sit. I guess hubby will be escorting them on rides. Too bad because I'm a big kid at heart and I love midway rides (but not roller coasters). Maybe this is someone's way of telling me to grow up!!!! I believe this is pretty well the last fair of the year.

Only a high of 17C expected today - beautiful sweater weather.

Greetings friends. A busy morning this morning, but not that much accomplished. Started off finding dogs had been in my trash. Luckily the teen across street was outside, he and his friend came to help me pick it all up. Two trash cans breached, must have been some food got in there by accident, people other than I have been in my kitchen

Al has perked up this morning, after sleeping in. His favorite college team is playing football, pointy ball kind. If they play well, he will be a happy camper for a few hours.

Teresa, I am sorry you have the achies today. Hope you feel better as the day progresses. Enjoy the fair with the grandies, sounds fun. Hope you find a lot of benches.

Thenks for the coffee Tami, I needed another cup. I am sleepy, big time for some unknown reason. OH yea, I did get up very early, upset tummy woke me, but not soon enough. That anti yeast pill can upset some tummies, seems mine might be one of them.

Tami, your 90's are a bit too warm for me. We are having high 80's for highs, and I am loving it! Need a sweater or jacket first thing mornings, but it soon warms up.

V. Viv, what kind of pie with your peas and chips? Here my first thought for pie is a sweet, then second is a pizza pie (called such by northerners)so I am interested in what is "pie" down under.

Suzy, I am hoping he can get into trials also. there is one he is particuarlly interested in, where the tumor itself is injected with chemo. I hope they have another 3 they can get in on that one.

OK, I should get him back on moist air mask, and then I think I shall hold down my recliner a while. Hugs to each of you, with extras for those needing them.

Slow day for me. I'm having to take it easy after overdoing it yesterday. I had been planning on driving Buddy to the Vet Clinic, a 5 mile trip, but when I woke up, I realized that it would be too much for me. It would be easy peasy for Buddy.

Good afternoon everyone. Just put up another pot of coffee if anyone can use an afternoon pick me up.

Theresa, sorry you have achies today. Hope something helps so you can enjoy the fair with the grandies. I also love the rides but my favorites are the roller coasters. I don't like anything that goes in circles. I also love the games. My favorite is the water gun races. We take most of our school to the fair every year on kids day. I was once in a race of me versus about 19 kids. The attendant laughed and told the kids a teacher was playing. Of course, they all booed. I had the last laugh. I beat them all and won the big stuffed animal.

Theresa, like you I am not fond of the roller coasters. when I was younger I would ride them with the best of them, Now none of the rides are fun, they jerk and jar old bones. I like some of the carnival games. Do they still have pitching nickles? Probably quarters now, but when I was growing up my dad taught me how to toss the coins to make them land, not bounce. I thought it funny when Al told me about his father teaching him the same technique. The prizes were the carnival glass dishes where your coin landed. When Mom downsized, we tossed a lot of that. It was before it became so popular, now pieces are worth money.

A lovely day today, cool, dry, with a lovely breeze. I should be outside.

More hugs, till later.

Fingers crossed here for Al to quickly get on to some sort of trials, the sooner the better. ((HUGS)) to you both MizT.
Suzy those video clips of Alie were very good, to hear her in real life would no doubt have been better. Good luck (not that it is needed) to her for the final.

Spent the day assembling a new cage for the finches. It's 3x the size of their previous one. The hardest part was catching them to move them to their new cage. They're fast and sneaky.
