My internet connection keeps dropping out so I hope I remember to save my post.

MizT, the pavilion service sounds like it will be lovely. I remember when hubby's father was buried there were volunteers there, ex-servicemen, who did a 21 gun salute (7 guns fired 3 times). They apparently did this every time a veteran was buried. I remember being a little sad because they were not young and it seemed like the tradition would only continue for a few more years at most.

I recommend you ask for a few copies of the slide show to be burned to CD and taken to the service. I'm sure there will be close friends and family there who will decide they would love a copy and you can avoid having to mail them out. After the stories you've been telling us I'm even tempted to ask for a copy!!!

My mommy gene got squished. I was always one of those people who slept solidly from the time I dropped off until morning. Hubby had to wake me up for earthquakes - those he thought big enough to get out of bed for, which meant they had to be pretty big. When Dana was born, all of a sudden I was like you, a pin dropping would wake me up. Hubby had and is always like that. No matter how much I nagged and said 'wait to see if she's actually awake or just turning over', he would go to her (and Alie in her turn). It got so I just stayed asleep and he woke me if they needed feeding. Mommy gene turned off.

It is a mistake to look too far ahead. Only one link of the chain of destiny can be handled at a time. ~ Winston Churchill

That's what happens when you think a topp is not for a few posts and so just go ahead and post..Tami and Heidi changed my destiny from a boring post a couple from the bottom to an inappropriate topp.

Suzy, there is no inappropriate topp. The fact that you are posting is enough. I enjoy the everyday stuff and don't always need an inspirational quote or funny story.

Richard and I have been and had our flu jab this morning. Strangely both of us have aches in the opposite arm to where the jab was given!

I had an interesting experience today. I have a funny hip, don't know why but every now and then I get a sharp pain and it feels like it won't hold my weight. Experimentation over the years has shown that the quickest way to fix it is to walk it off, which is kind of counter-intuitive, but works - well, did work.

Today, I got the sharp pain (scared the cr@p out of Don because I also looked like I was going to fall down), and walking it off, didn't actually walk it off, it just resulted in a series of pains and semi-collapsing legs that lasted for a couple of hours. Seriously weird! It's fine now by the way.

June, that sounds like a fun night. Tomorrow Alie has Pride rehearsal and 2 school assignments to finish. It will be a stressful day.

MizT - I found that my Mummy gene returned in full force once I had grandies. Even now, if any stay the night, I hear every move they make. Never completely goes away.

My 'mummy gene' kicked in last week.
At the hospital, when mum got herself a tad upset, I rushed up and held her hand and put my arm around her and gave her a hug!

Suzy.... That sounds like a pinched nerve in the lumbar area. It can cause those pains without the back hurting. Walking it off would loosen the muscles and stop the spasms.

I did a fast there and back to the N.A.I.L.E. this morning. I just needed to hit the booths to get some christmas presents. The main booth I needed to go to, the Mid-States Wool Growers, sells out of all the best wool shirts and sweaters the first day, so I HAVE to hit it before the good stuff is gone. I got some presents for a bunch of people. I plan on going back next week for the beef cattle and sheep judging..

AGGGGGH, I know better. Once again I changed pages and lost all my comments. perhaps I can recreate them.

CynB, glad to know someone else still has a Mommy gene. I did get back to sleep and slept the longest at one stretch in days. I feel like a new woman today, a new OLD woman. hehehe

Brenda, sorry your arm is sore, no matter which one it is. Had my flue shot weeks ago and my arm is tender there still. It did not hurt going in, they had done something new and nurse asked if it worked, yes, no pain in the taking, just later.

Suzy, that sounds like an interesting scary something with the hip. I am sure Don was unnerved about it, with your almost falling. Is this something you should talk to your doc about?

June, sounds like this is a birthday weekend. Hope Laura has fun at the 5 year old party.

Suzy, I have seen the 21 gun salute, but only for lifers, in for 20 to 30 years and once for the father of a Chief of Police. Now THAT was a funeral procession. 12 motorcycle police in escort, and at entrance to cemetery, they all raced forward, parked nose out side by side, 6x6, and stood at attention as the hearse and the family car with their chief inside. Fire trucks, ladder trucks were there with ladders extended over the rode, a sort of arch. I was in second family car with my daughter and SIL, SIL was a NON policeman son of the deceased.

Tami is right, no such thing as inappropriate TOPP. It is just a bit extra if someone posts an inspirational message, it is not a requirement.

Good idea about copies of the slide show. I will ask if BIL can burn a few extra. Joy , Rodger, and I will each want one I am sure.

OOOPS, got interupted by one of the Burson boys, not sure which now. We are keeping his pain under control, but he is sleeping more. If he is not having the mucus problem of yesterday, I am happy.

Hugs to each and every one of you, with extras, more later.

Heidi, of course you have a mommy gene for animals, I recognize it in how you care for them and how many you do care for.

OH, you might be interested, the farmer at the head of our street has three (what? yearlings? Steers?) in a small pasture, feeding them all the hay and sweet feed they want, I named them Meat, Meat, and Meat once again. he fattens up 3 a year for his and the doctor/owner of farm. They are Black Angus. I think of you every time I go by.

Hello Everyone,
Just back from doing something I dislike doing...shopping for shoes...I looked high and low and believe I saw some of the ugliest shoes that could be made...ugggg. I ended up getting a decent looking pair of dress shoes on sale and a nice pair of dress boots in black. Have nice brown high rise dress boots, black shoe boots and now these...should hold me for a while.

Suzy, I do wish you'd stop being so hard on yourself..I don't think your post are boring. In fact, we've learned a lot about things such as music, math and comparisons given from the experience of living in two different countries..pretty interesting, common-placed facts that we wouldn't other wise be privy to w/o your post! Not fussing so hope you don't cry, but with all that you have going for you, I can't let you get away with dissing my friend Suzy! So knock it off kid!!
Loving all the stories being told...pleasent reading.
MizT, I agree its good to have your BIL burn extra copies of your pictures..many will be happy with that choice... Hope you will be able to send us programs like June did. You seem to have sorted out things and it sounds as if the services will reflect Al in all his humaneness...that's wonderful! I'm glad he will be celebrated in that fashion. Sully wanted us to have a party and remember him with great music and stories and it worked out so well...I do expect that you will find the same satisfaction in doing it with Al's knowledge and approval...I know I did!
Now I'm off to do the jigsaws and the easy pages...have an enjoyable time doing something just for yourselves....Peace!

Rough are the long haired Collies, like Lassie
Smooths are a short haired variety. Same breed. You can get both coat lengths in the same litter (as long as at least one parent is a Smooth). Smooth fanciers say that Smooths have all of the pleasure of the great Collie personality without all the work of brushing the hair.

Did I tell you about Al and jokes? Late one night when we ere dating, he was telling me some of his favorite jokes. I challenged him to a contest, I could stump him with subjects for his jokes. three hours later he is still going strong, has not missed a category. I could not think of anything else to be subject. He did cheat at first, though. If I said Cowboys, he would start his joke, these three cowboys walked into a bar. If I said the Catholic church, he would start the same joke with These 3 priests walked into a bar. If I said chimpanzees he would say these 3 chimpanzees walked into the bar, that is until we had a meeting of the rules committee hehehe. But he could tell more jokes to more people, clean them up for folks that might be offended, or let it rip for a more colorful crowd. I laughed so much that night and still get a grin thinking of it.

John Walsh is an amazing man. His child was kidnapped and murdered, and he has devoted his life since trying to save other people and their children. He is responsible for a lot of psychopaths being locked up.

Up for intermission. Gave Al his medication. I charted wrong time because I have not changed my clocks. Cousin and BIL were reminding me earlier. I told them I will get around to it sometime this week. We do not go anywhere, have appointments, why rush with it? I hate the change back to standard time. It gets so dark, so very early. I would normally be thinking of putting up my Christmas tree, I usually put it up right after Thanksgiving, but there is so much medical equipment in our living room, there is no place for it, not even the table top one. that is very sad for me, something else this da mn cancer is taking from me

When is thanksgiving? I have not even thought about that, shopped for that, nothing. Earlier my sweet neighbor said she would be sending over T dinner. I should check with her and see. It is that or buy it, cannot squeeze that into our schedule, assuming he is still here. did I say I HATE CANCER??

Did the create a bear Party. They had invited too many children so it took forever. Very expensive as minimum charge was $15 per child. They had invited Laura's whole class so there were more than 20 children, including some family members.

Congratulations Momma Heidi. Looking forward to seeing some photos of the additions to your family.
I have a cold again. Feel OK just a bit blocked up and a very runny nose. i think I will have to up the multi vitamins and build my reserves back up. So many jobs to do and I have little energy.
My Nana who I absolutely adored would have been 124 today. She died 44 years ago. All that makes ME feel old!
