Just found out my daughter inherited a large amount of money. She has no idea how much it was. A young friend of hers was hit by a car, he had inherited money from his parents who died when he was very young. When she found out she said, don't tell me how much because I'll want to keep it, give it to MS, cancer research and research into heart arrhythmia.. She said maybe if she hadn't seen him hit by the car she could have taken it...

Just got home from Dylan's ball game to find my neighborhood is surrounded. No one is allowed to leave, we were allowed to go home. There is a helicopter flying with a search light. Do not know what happened.

Tami, that sounds scary but who/what ever they are looking for must not be a threat if they allowed you to go home.
Suzy, it shows that her upbringing is still with your daughter for her to feel as she does about the money. It is interesting for a young person to have made a will. He must have been over 18 at the time as I do not think he could have left a legal will if he was under age.

Tami, don't wait for them to tell you it's safe to come out again. They won't. I guess that's in case they stuff up and the bad guy is in fact still out there they didn't find him. When it happened to us it turned out to be a search for someone who robbed the 7-11 around the corner.

Found the hole!! Knew there would be one...

June, the story is his parents died when he was young and he was raised by his aunt. The money became his when he turned 18 and he made a will then. He was 21 when he was hit by the car.

We will be able to hear, or not hear, the helicopter. Also, having Harley around helps. Hubby will walk him later and see what is going on.

Hubby just walked Harley. No more police cars or helicopters outside and he saw cars driving through. Now to watch the news and see if there is anything on. If not will check the paper in the morning.

Hi everyone!

MizT, I'm keeping you and Al in my thoughts and prayers.

Rolanda, best wishes for your Mum. I'm glad she and Peter had a heart to heart. Everyone only wants what's best for her and it has taken a while for it to get through to her. I hope respite is a good interim before a home. Good luck with searching for a suitable residence for her.

Broni, I'll keep my fingers crossed for a new job for you.
Tami, that was a bit too close to home for comforts sake.
Heidi, sorry about the puppy but I hope the others are coming along well.
June, take it easy and put your feet up for a while, you deserve it.
Theresa and Suzi, continued good wishes on giving up the cigarettes. One of the guys at work is doing the same - he's using patches but still has about 2-3 per day. He doesn't want to give them away but his body is telling him to (he's only 36!).
I hope Brenda and Richard enjoy their holiday in Florida.
Viv, I hope the injection works and you start to feel better soon.
Hello to everyone I haven't mentioned by name. I read all but don't always comment.

I went to the doctor about my cough and I've been diagnosed with bronchitis - I haven't had that since I was about 7. I've taken my course on antibiotics and I'm not 100% sure that I'm really better. I'm tossing up whether to get the repeat filled and have another 5 days of tablets.
We had a meeting to attend last night and arrived home after 11pm. Of course, I couldn't get to sleep and when I started to doze off I woke myself up coughing. I think it was about 1pm when I finally fell asleep only to have the alarm go off about 5:30 so Kevin could go to his first hydrotherapy session on his shoulder.
I think I'll be going to bed early tonight.

My sleepy continued into today, even after sleeping well between times I needed to be up. I had TWO naps today.

Joy came down, she and her dad had some good cuddles, with her sitting on the arm of the chair. Once she leaned over and just laid across his chest, till he pushed her away. She inadvertently laid over his trach! The 2 of them looked at old photos and enjoyed that muchly.

I hope yu all understood that the he in the story of the lost in plain sight distilled water was BIL, and not Al. Only place he goes is to the bathroom these days.

I read, meant to comment, but am falling asleep at the puter. Hugs to each of you and will back track to the above posts to comment on more later. Hugs to each of you, with extras.

Well that was fun - not!

We just got a couple of inches of rain in 5 minutes - it felt like that at least! I've put pics of Alie taking clothes off the line (I told her not to bother but she insisted it was better than picking them up off the ground later, I think it is even a load destined for Vinnies)

Vicki, it takes a few weeks to get over the exhaustion from Bronchitis. I hope you are able to get some rest to catch up with yourself.

Tami, I found it very frustrating when the police just left. I know they didn't catch the guy when it happened to us... Glad you have Harley to help keep hubby safe on his walk.

I have been hunting out some old photos for the work reunion next week. Sharon spent hours both for my 70 birthday and for herself for a scrap book (that still has to be put together) so our photos are every where. I have found a few I wanted. But it is both fun and bitter sweet going through records of ones life.
I am pleased Sharon spent so many hours with all those photos. not sure what she thought about while she was doing that.

Morning friends, we had another visit from 3 year old neighbor Bella today, only problem is her Mom did not know where she was. I sent her home, but she appeared again later as I went to dome for some CD blanks. Found the blanks, found I do not know how to burn cds from all programs. I heard Bella outside but could not see her. she was all the way across my yard, hiden under the limbs of the pear tree, she and her little dogs. that child is an escape artist, Mom needs to find a way to keep up with her.

Did you let your child out in an unfenced yard alone when she was age 3? I think I did, only when i was in the 2 rooms that had a view of her play area. If she left that area, she had to come inside, and soon learned to stay put.

Well, I got interrupted by phone, now it is time for my nap if I am going to get one. did not get a lot of sleep last night so I need it. I hope to be back later. Hugs to each of you, with extras.

Hi everyone..
I worked the polls yesterday for the last time. I was suprised with a large turnout in an off election year, but do think people are beginning to see the need to vote in the local elections. It is as important, and some say more important, than in the national elections... lots of meat on those thoughts.
My crew gave me a beautiful dozen roses, cake, champange and cards as farwell gifts..it was all really touching, unexpected and tiring. Our day started at 6 a.m and we started celebrating at 10p.m...a very long time...but fun...just waking from an almost 3 hour nap. Lots of catching up to do so not too much more to say other than hoping you great rest MizT as I think fondly of you and Al. Heidi, condolenences on the loss of this pup...such a shame. Tami, glad you and family are well...scary situation and I'm sure not much fun.
Suzy...glad you are not holding stuff, but sorry about the numb feelings...yet I do understand that the numbness protects you so I'm okay with that...as to the money bit...I have no words...unusual as that may sound, but will be interested in the long story one day. There always is more then rears it's head early on.....
Broni...good fortune with the employment opportunity.
To the rest, vibes for health, wealth and all that may be needed, encased in hugs is being sent your way....Peace.

Hi all from sunny Pompano Beach, flight yesterday left an hour and a half late but we were only 20 minutes getting into Miami. Weather today is really nice, though there was a shower of rain this morning. We cannot be that unlucky to have all our holidays this year spoiled by the rain.
Have tried to catch up with reading but my brain is still slow and I can't remember all I have read.
((HUGS)) to all, special hugs to whoever need them the most.

Found out what happened last night. There was a break in at one of the houses and the guy was caught in the act. He tried to flee but was cornered in one of the canals near us.

Morning all,
June, the photos exercise would be a wonderful trip down memory lane but I'm sure there have been some tears. There would be from me right now, tears are an embarrassing daily occurrence, though never linked to real life things (real life for me I mean, other people's real lives yes, movie clips yes..)

Julie, I can't wait to hear about your cello lesson!! I hope learning is everything you've hoped for..

Mama, what a lovely farewell. With those hours I understand why it is your last year, that would be exhausting for someone with half of your experience.

Tami, I'm glad you found out what all the fuss was about and even more glad that they actually caught him! In our small city there are a half a dozen people who, if the police can get them in gaol, our break and enter stats drop to almost nothing.

Gail, know that feeling except in our case the bill was in hubby's name and it was our problem.

Rolanda, I hope you get a nice hair cut, not sayin' nothin' about the other horrible thing...

MizT, I didn't let my kids play unsupervised in an unfenced area as we lived on a busy road. It wasn't meant to be busy but a lot of people used it as a shortcut away from the road that was supposed to be busy.

I hope it was a quiet nap in the dome you were heading off for.

Funny story. When we got Dimmie we were told he was a boy, but he never grew bits so, after an inspection, we decided he must be a she. We never really checked again. With Nomnom that wouldn't have been an issue. His bits were so huge they affected his walk so everyone knew he was a boy. Well a few days ago someone picked up Dimmir and said 'oh, I think he's a boy'. There were bits! At least we thought they were bits.. they were so tiny!! He was 'fixed' yesterday and it was confirmed that he was a boy, just a very unfortunate one. Not that it matters now....

Suzy, very funny Dimmie story. Poor baby, born with little bits!

mama, what a wonderful going away party from the fellow poll watchers. I am glad you got a good nap, naps sure help.

Royal Rolanda, hope the crowning was as painless as possible. How was your Mum today? Have you started any thing on your new house? I know it takes a lot of planning fore breaking ground, but interested in the details please.

Tami, glad the culprit was caught. Hope no more such incidents in your area.

Suzy, our street was on a cul-de-sac, we were near the circle, and there were only 6 houses there. Not much traffic till neighborhood boy got a motorcycle, and he and his friends kept the roads hot. OH, when D#2 was playing outside, that is when the " here I is" quote came about. I would call, she would not answer, cause she thought I would make her come in if I found her. Not always the case, so I told her if she answered me, just to let me know where she was, she ould not have to come in right then. she answered, and if I did need her inside, i would wait 5 minutes. A toddler does not wear a watch hehehe. She changed my " Here I am, Monnie, to the Here I is that kind of stuck in our family.

I did something new today. I saved photos from various places to disk today, burned my very first CD. I always had someone to do this for me before. boy it is like loosing bits and pieces of him each time I have to deal with something he once did.

I had a nice 3 hour nap tonight, never got one today. My hips hurting kept waking me today, could not get comfy. Recliner tonight and I was comfy and imediately out like a light. hubby slept or played his games while I slept.

Time to get him his evening meds, and some liquids. Chat with you tomorrow. sorry I did not omment on all posts, just ran out of time.

Hugs to each of you, with extras.

We are going into the city tonight to see Jersey Boys. Going by train and at just before 5pm hubby decides to mow the lawn (MEN!!!). We need to get a train by 6.30pm as I cannot walk fast in the city. Also we want to get some dinner near Epping station before we leave. (Can never find anything in the City unless you go to the waterfront). Sharon gave us the money for the tickets a long time ago and reminded Ken about them just before she left us.
Also had a great massage today. He worked on my shoulder and my knee and both feel much better.

Greetings, Everyone!

I have quickly skimmed through a page or two and have come to page 259. Tami and Rolanda have given us a perfect TOPP!

I am glad we have acknowledged the elephant and am thrilled by the strength and wisdom of my fellow Sudokuaholics! Mama says it all so beautifully! MizT, you and June have set such wonderful examples, been role models, and inspired all of us to live life fully and gratefully and face the reality of the future. Thank you for that! {{{{HUGS}}}} and much love to Tricia, Al, and Joy and June and family!

Thanks to all who have shared advice for eulogizing a loved one! It certainly isn't easy, but it is a wonderful way to love and honor those who have passed!

Being able to talk about the days ahead and final plans makes so much sense! I know hubby, MIL and I all knew when her days were numbered, but not a lot was said at that time, though we had spoken about her wishes off and on since his Dad died.

Heidi, thank you for letting MizT know of your intention to be there with her as possible. It's reassuring to the rest of us to know that we will have a "representative" of SA in attendance! Heidi, I hope you are feeling better and have been able to cut the hay! Such wonderful new to hear that you have found some to purchase to help you get through the winter and keep the herd complete!

June, you are an amazing woman with all you do for your family and your friends! So totally selfless and an inspiration! I hope Belinda is feeling better!

Tricia, please tell Al how much we enjoyed the skunk story!

Enjoyed reading comments by Tami, Rolanda, Judy, MizT, CynB, Gail, Suzy, Brenda, June, Heidi, Mamacita, and Theresa!

Cyn, how nice that Col's GPS has given him a promotion to Colonel!

June, I'm glad you were able to track down the smelly offender!

Speaking of smells, I would have to say skunk is the worst I've smelled, as thankfully I've been spared hot cat urine!

Getting much too late to continue on. Must tell you all that I had my first official cello lesson! I hadn't had time to do much in the past week, which is a good thing. I really wasn't holding the cello at the right angle and needed to adjust the way I was holding the bow. I wasn't sure if the pain in my right wrist was from holding the bow or my fall a couple of weeks ago. I may never know for sure, the the correct bow hold will put much less stress/tension in my hand.

Will be back tomorrow to try to get caught up with my reading. Special gentle {{{HUGS}}} for Tricia, Al and Joy. Positive thoughts and vibes, , prayers and {{{{{{HUGS}}}}}} for everyone!
