Trica, I too think the mouse should be in Al's hand...a very fitting place, given his experiences and enjoyment.
Tami, Give Bobbie my love and let her know we are all wishing her a speedy recovery. I am enjoying the boy's game results ...good for them. The outing with Dylan at the city set-up really sounded neat...I haven't heard of an actual place like that, althought we did have something similar in the classroom for our youngsters to learn management of money, etc...but our kids were special needs and the purpose was geared to different skills that I imagine Dylan's was...but am sure there were some overlapping ideas in the two programs.

Heidi, the puppies are simply adorable!♥
Rolanda, hope your mum is coming along....my sister remains in the hospital's intensive care, but is responding to treatment. It's a reoccurence of bleeding ulcers, and hopefully she will soon be back on her feet.

Sending a grateful thank you to all who have served and are serving in the services to their countries around the world! May we find one day, the world will be over run with peace and kindness and there will be no need to have our youth go around the world protecting us from the face of danger but instead can act simply as ambassadors of good will. ♥

Just heard from my mom. She will be going home. She was diagnosed with Benign Positional Vertigo. I was there when the doctor came in to speak to her. She has to see him in 2 weeks and I will go with her. She will be much happier at home. She wants to thank everyone for the good wishes.

Mom called to say she is home and going to bed early. I will update tomorrow when I speak to her. I am glad she went home or Mitchell was going down to spend the night with my dad. Brother and I both agreed he should not be alone more than one night

Hi everyone.
Very fitting MizT re the mouse.
At the viewing when my FIL died hubby put a mallet in the casket with him. At the cemetery when we buried him I threw scones into the grave.
People wondered what I was doing but that is how I remember him. He loved his scones and the more burnt on top the better.!!

Tami, glad to hear your Mum is okay and now back at home.
MizT I have tried some Voltaren Gel but it may be a lighter strength here. I will look on the tube shortly. I did not get any relief from it.
June, my brother took his daughter there when I was down in Sydney for some gym comp.
She is 9 years old.
I must post some pics from my visit to him.
They live in Pymble and his house is gorgeous.

Theresa, thinking of you today.
I have also had a cough that I can not get rid of for the last month or more.
I went back to doc the other day to see about this.
She gave me more anti - biotics.
Someone said to me are you sure it is not whooping cough and I looked up the symptoms and I have them all.
This is definitely not helping with my back problem as it kills me every time I cough.
The coughing is awful, at times to the point of vomiting and nearly choking.
I also have lost my voice at the moment.

I will not be giving in to my son and driving him anywhere. The day he threatened to hit me did it. It is awful to know that you did your best in bringing them up but the behaviour at the moment is just awful.
Next weekend he is off to schoolies so I am looking forward to being in the house without him here.

He threatened to hit you? OMG! If he ever does, please call the police and press charges. He's out of control and needs a serious lesson about his horrid behavior. You'd do him a favor to have him arrested.

Hi, Everyone! Just now reading page 263.

Broni, congrats on a good interview with a follow-up already scheduled! Good luck! Great that it is rather nearby, as well!

Tami, kind of scary to come home to a surrounded neighborhood with a helicopter with searchlights overhead. Since you were just coming home from a baseball game, you have an alibi! (Just trying to make light of a very scary situation.) Sometimes we never find out what happens in our own neighborhoods! So glad to hear that the culprit was caught!

We had excitement/police/paramedics/carrying ladders into the forest preserve next to our neighborhood last spring when a body was found in the forest preserve. Never a word in the newspaper, TV or radio.

Heidi, so sorry to hear about the puppy! I hope all of the rest are growing and healthy!'

Rolanda (or is it "My Queen" since the crowning?) I hope your Mum is doing well and arrangements can be made for respite care for her!

Brenda, welcome to the U.S., particularly Tami's portion of it! I hope the weather doesn't disappoint! Have a wonderful visit!

Mama, what a wonderful send-off from the other poll-workers! Looks like they love you as much as we do! How many years did you work the polls?

MizT, I can't imagine letting a 3-year-old out of my sight while she was playing outside. Things can happen so quickly, even while you're in the same room as a little one!

Suzy, enjoyed the Dimmie story, though, as you say, it doesn't really matter at this point, does it?

Heidi and Gail, it is OK to like or love the idea of burying his mouse with him. I thought it was just the thing to do! We do want to make this a celebration of his life. I hunted through my computer to find some dome photo, somewhere, with him working on it and facing the camera, had to have photo of him and his domes for the slide show.

did I say I learned something new? I had never burned a disk before, but got about 8 photos from different sources into a file and burned CD.

Rough day for him today, nausea and vomiting, and no reason why that we can isolate. he is OK now, playing his games. I have been asleep in my chair, could not stay awake, but now it is time for bed and my legs are keeping me awake, go figure. Nice to have so many naps already tonight though.

must post fore i turn the page, see you overleaf.

June, I hope you both enjoyed Jersey Boys! What a wonderful gift! What a good plan to get dinner before going into the city! Can't imagine walking around in a city at 10:30 or after any more. I have become an old "fuddie-duddie."

Viv, loved your loneliness/solitude quote!

Suzy, I hope Dana's camera will "recover" from the flooding. Not very good news about the bed, though.

Mama, thinking positive thoughts for your sister!

Heidi, I hope your back and ankle are feeling MUCH better! Darn tractor! Hopefully the mechanic can get to it quickly! I guess you will just have to wait to accomplish the hay move, which hopefully will not be a problem!

Tami, thinking of your Mom! Sending positive thoughts and vibes to her and her docs as they try to determine the cause of her dizziness. Hopefully if it's vertigo, the meds will eventually be of help!

Gail, I would join right in for a good cry if I were standing with you! I think it must be good for the soul to be so empathetic. In my family, we always joke that we should have bought stock in the companies that make & sell tissues.

Heidi, great news that the puppies are doing well! What cuties!

MizT, so glad you don't need to worry about Thanksgiving dinner! Crossing fingers and toes that the new meds cocktail does what it's supposed to do and no more! May you sleep a relaxing and restful sleep! {{{{{HUGS}}}}}

Viv, I'm so sorry to hear that pain has returned - and that Ethan has also been a pain! So proud of you for standing firm!

MizT, thanks for all of the information about the Voltaren! That was quite a testimonial! I am filing the information away in my brain (dangerous, I know, as I'm not alway able to retrieve what I file) for future needs. I'm so glad you and BIL were able to get a replacement wireless mouse so quickly! Love your BIL's idea to put the mouse in Al's hand!

Theresa, thoughts are with you! Treasure the memories of your Mom! Anniversaries can be very difficult times. {{{{HUGS}}}}

Thinking of your Mom, Tami, and hope she's feeling better! {{{HUGS}}}

Mama, enjoyed all of your comments at the top of the page, as well as the quote from James Baldwin!

Love that "Benign" word, Tami! So glad your Mom was able to return home!

June, I hope Laura's competition went well!

Tami, while I've heard of and worked with some Junior Achievement programs, I had not heard of BizTown! I'm glad it was a good experience for Dylan!

Viv, so sorry to hear the cough is lingering! Hopefully it isn't Whooping Cough, and you would think the doctor would be able to diagnose. No wonder it's causing you additional pain! I hope you will soon be rid of the symptoms!

Viv, Heidi is absolutely right! I can't believe E threatened, but if he ever lays a hand on you, get the police involved immediately. Do you think this is learned behavior - or has he had a history of anger management problems? This is really serious stuff! Please take care of yourself! {{{{{HUGS}}}}}

So sorry Al has had a rough day today! Gentle hugs headed his way, and plenty for you, too, MizT!

Heading to bed soon, so signing off. Plenty of positive vibes & thoughts, prayers, and {{{{{{HUGS}}}}}} for everyone!

Morning all. Have a big pot of coffee brewing. Should be ready in about 5 minutes so get the cups ready. Nothing is better than fresh brewed coffee.

Everyone else is still a sleep. I have an online class I need to do. Should take about 7-8 hours and I am going to start now. I figure a little here, a little there and I should be done by tomorrow night.

Will let you know how mom is when I speak to her. She is calling me so that I don't wake her up.

Hope your back holds up Heidi..take it easy but try to have fun too.
Viv, parents do the best they know how when raising children, usually it's rewarded by similar experiences being replicated...yet there is always the exception. You are not to blame yourself for Son's anger. That can stem from many sources, but it does sound as if anger management or counseling of some sort would be helpful...Perhaps you can get a friend or family member to make suggestions if hubby won't back you, even the courts. Best of luck, and do follow Heidi's suggestion if any physical behavior starts...that would aid your effort of finding needed help.
May this day/night lead to fun, frolic and joy, restored health and youth, at least in our dreams....and time to remember when these things were an accepted part of our everyday lives.... Peace.

Greetings friends, I am supposed to be napping, but phone woke me. I am trying to decide if I should get up and open my door, or go back to bed.

It was a busy morning, today was food bank day, and now I have 25 individual servings of Lucky Charms cereal . No applesauce today, canned peaches instead. More re-fried beans, guess I should have bean burritos soon, and often. I am thankful for every box, jar and can of food, that much I do not have to purchase. I did think we night get something for Thanksgiving, but not to be this year.

Our pharmacist is so good. I had medication reorder in, he told me one was too soon to go through hospice. It was one the nurse had told me to increase, but had not called it in to pharmacy. He gave me enough to last till Monday when nurse will visit again, instead of trying to get the on call nurse who does not know him to order it. Nice to have a good pharmacist.

Just the same ole going on here. Taking care of AL, getting naps when I can. I slept last night in my chair from 8 till midnight, while he played his computer games. One time he had to wake me, I heard the clicker sounding, but could not get myself awake. I was trying to make that sound fit into my dream, yep that sound asleep, but it would not fit. Took him two clicks to get me awake.

Heidi, I do not see how you can keep going with your back hurting so. Does it do damage to back when you push so hard through the pain? After this morning, mine is hurting, and down my legs. the pain I can tolerate, sometimes, but when my legs do not want to move, that is when I give up and sit. You with your bad back do more than most people who are healthy as a horse. I do admire you for that, but I worry about you aslo.

Viv, what was keeping you awake so leary this morning? Hope the day is not too hot and humid, those are not fun days.

Broni, have fun on your Melbourne trip! I agree, Mama made me smile also, and in my dreams, I can do and be just as I was years ago. BTW, when is your follow up interview??

OK, back to bed for me, I think I can finish my nap. Hugs to each of you, with extras.

Heidi, so glad the fundraiser has the best turnout ever. congratulations to your group.

Tami broke the site this morning. I know, that big pot of coffee was too heavy .

Gail, love the " Cry at the opening of a tissue box". I got a giggle out of that. Good to hear your Mom is home and hope she continues to do well, with whatever treatment they decide for her.

Hi all. Back from baseball. Dylan's team won the first game, a continuation from Thursday night but lost the second game. There were several bad calls, against us. Oh well, there is always next season. More important than the win/lose record, Dylan enjoyed it and became a better ball player. I can't ask for more than that.

That's wonderful, Tami. That's the most important thing, having fun and learning skills and coordination. Winning is just icing on the cake.

I'm sorry that you had a migraine, Suzanne. Welcome back to the human race.

Now back to the chili supper one more time. I've already taken my maximum allowed methadone for the day, and can only stand up for 10 minutes at a time. When I work there, I have a chair set up behind the serving table and I sit between serving the chili to people. But even that is hard on the back today. But I made a commitment to work there, tho' not the whole time.

Heidi, perhaps you better think first, then commit? Way too stubborn! and take that from someone who is!

MizT, precede this with my disclaimer!!!!

Tricia, we all knew that "Good to hear your Mom is home and hope she continues to do well, with whatever treatment they decide for her." was for Rolanda."
That is why we love coming here, we can laugh and cry and cringe occasionaly!

I had a giggle.

Well, it's over. We made a huge profit for us.. over a thousand dollars! I even took a carriage ride! This was a professional who does carriage rides for a living. I was able to check out how he harnesses up his horse and had a nice chat with him during the drive. I wanted to see how long a ride he gives, and where to.

Good (Early) Evening (for me), Everyone!

Gail, I love your saying - that you cry at the opening of a tissue box!

Discussion a few days ago about crying easily struck a chord. Seems I remember always crying at small provocation. Funny thing is, I often cry when I laugh hard also, and draw tears when I yawn. Allergies also bring tears, so allergies get blamed a lot!

Tami, I hope you got a lot of the work done for your online course! So sorry that Dylan's team lost, but, as you say, the important thing is that he is learning and enjoying the game! It's so thoughtful of you to always provide coffee. Like Mama, however, I don't drink coffee. I'll join Mama in a virtual cup of hot chocolate with mini marshmallows, though.

Heidi, by now I'm wondering if you're in bed. You had a long and tiring day with the very successful chili supper, multiple trips back and forth between home and supper, and caring for the puppies! I hope you didn't over-do and do damage to your back! So glad you enjoyed the carriage ride - and also learned how the professional does it!

Mama, what great wishes for all of us today! Ah, yes, we can all imagine ourselves young again, and enjoying the flexibility and mobility that goes with youth!

Broni, safe travels to Melbourne! Enjoy (fun, frolic and joy, as Mama recommends)!

MizT, you are so right that you have a good pharmacist! One of the advantages of small-town living, I think! I grew up in a town of 5,000 (now down to about 3,200) residents. People tend to look out for each other (but they also tend to know everyone's business).

Suzanne, glad to have you back - hope your migraine is gone! I heard on the radio today about an app for a Smart Phone that is supposed to help control stress through breathing. It has been developed by a migraine group, I think.

Broni, I also wondered if MizT's comment might refer to Tami's Mom. Regardless, I hope both Rolanda's Mum and Tami's Mom are showing signs of improvement!

MizT, I hope you get a long uninterrupted sleep tonight and wake rested!

Viv, I hope your back is better today and you also get a long and uninterrupted sleep tonight!

An abundance of positive thoughts and vibes, prayers, and {{{{{{HUGS}}}}}} for everyone, and those you love!

My apologies if I didn't mention everyone who posted. Be assured that I am thinking of all of you!

The Physi with Laura went well although they did not get a place. She enjoyed the fun of the makeup and everything.
Last night we went to an Eighty birthday party. There were 5 couples who all worked together 45 years ago in Melbourne. It was great to catch up and exchange family news. (We do keep in touch with some of them).
Today has just been a lazy day.

Hello my friends!
Had a busy weekend, went to "sit" for my Mum - that's about 5 hours driving there and back. It gives my brother a chance to do his own thing for a while, which is good for him. Rob has decided that we need to get out and do things with Mum, and she seems to like it, even though she can't remember anything about it afterwards ... This trip we went to see a lake that, till recently, was practically empty. Well, there were motor-boats and sail-boats and kids playing, and there were little doggies that enjoyed Mum's attentions, and a strange man who wanted us to photograph his little dog, and then wanted to chatter on to us ... Mum got very tired, but she seemed to be enjoying it! On the way home we stopped off and bought fresh cherries (yum!), then Mum slept for the rest of the trip. Of course she had no memory of it when she woke, but we do, and it's a nice memory. :)

Heidi, take care with that back. You do not want to do damage till it is beyond repair. I have watched so many people who do lots of work for charity, they get thanks at the time but if you damage your health while doing it people just say you were silly to keep going.
Viv, sorry the pain is back. Tension at home will not help.
Julie, how is the cello going. One day you will have to do a video, like Suzy, and let us all listen.
