Since everyone knows the Christmas carols, I decided to share a Chanukah song. (Pretend I have a good singing voice)

Oh Chanukah, Oh Chanukah
Come light the Menorah
Let's have a party
We'll all dance the Horah
Gather round the table
I'll give you a treat.
Dreidels to play with,
Latkes to eat.
And while we, are playing,
The candles are burning low.
One for each night,
They shed a sweet light,
To remind us of days long ago,
To remind us of days long ago.

Good morning all - if you want to play 'spot the kangaroo' go to the easy puzzle today!
Happy belated Birthday to Ken.
Tami - I agree with what the others have said about your 'friend'.
Have a wonderful break Rolanda and I'll try to remember the time difference this Christmas Day. Last year I sent text messages to those sudoku friends whose mobile numbers I had. Trouble was I forgot the time difference, Rolanda got hers at 6am and woke her up.

I actually got something done today! I just decorated the Christmas tree!! White lights and a white crystal star on top, and covered with animal ornaments and glass icicles.

Morning all,
Tami, I say tell her how you feel and how hurt you are. If you want to keep the friendship you obviously have a history worth keeping. There's probably something in there about your hubby doing the wrong thing by you as that would make me a little unforgiving now that you're my friend too. BUT, as a friend, it's my job to respect your choices and support you in them. Now that sounds like I know something I shouldn't, but I was just extrapolating to what would make me angry at a friend's husband......hopefully the sentiment stretches to cover the actual problem!

Good Morning everyone!
Belated wishes to Ken.

Merry Christmas Rolanda, Have a safe and happy holiday.

Tami, honesty with your friend is best. If she can't accept your hubby and sons then she probably isn't the sort of friend you need.

It's my last day at work today and then it's two weeks holiday. I pick up my sister from the airport tonight, shopping for food tomorrow morning, packing, take the dog to the kennel , sort out the mess at home and go to the beach on Saturday.
We've even talked about still putting our Christmas tree up. Shaun had borrowed it for his kindy kids but brought it home yesterday. It's still in the family room and all the decorations are out so we may as well. Better late than never I suppose.

Heidi, animal ornaments is sooo appropriate for you... photo please!

Tami, thank you for the Chanukah song. Pretty much the only one I know is Dreidel, which I hope is spelled correctly because it's not in my spell check dictionary...

Rolanda, have a wonderful, relaxing time. I hope everything goes as planned and you come back ready to take on the world!!

June, so glad you've got Laura for a few days (finally)..

Vicki, sounds good to me. It's not christmas without a tree. Alie is all disappointed with our real tree, she much prefers our gigantic fake tree. She has gone so far as to say it doesn't feel like christmas...

I've had a call and all of the details are finalised for the 23rd. Alie has grown so much. When she first started doing Carols any song she had to sing was rehearsed for months. Now all she needs is 2 days notice...

Good maEn everyone!
Just popping in for a quick second.
TTT: Drop "that friend" like a hot potato!!! After the last few months, you don't need her friendship. A TRUE friend would apologize, obviously she is not the true friend you thought she was. I was hoping you both could work it out, but after the holiday card, I think you'd be better off without her. That is just my opinion sweetie, do with it what you will.
Loving thoughts, healing vibes & prayers for all who need them with extras!!
Merry Christmas & Happy Chanukah to all my friends here. Take care all. TTFN

Yep, I agree with Heidi - Alie is nuts!
Even though I have a fake tree and love it's fibreoptics, there's nothing like a real tree, We always had one as kids.
I guess it's my generation's fault that so many of us opted for the fake tree - no cleaning up, one-off expense, symmetrical etc (all my reasons) - that our children and grandies don't even consider a real tree as an option.
BTW Heidi, when I say symmetrical, here in Qld the real trees available are a bit straggly. Due to our climate we don't get the lovely full real trees like they do in colder climates.

HI FOLKS...
Not really shouting..
TTE..Thanks for sharing share the Chanukah song. I won't respond to your problem as I have nothing new to add.. I concur with all the comments already posted.

WELL DONE Heidi!!
I'm still thinking about the tree..really need one to get the spirit. Really hasn't been happening here. Maybe tonight.. Going to try to clear and set the table up tonight [hidden under washing stuff I've been sorting] so maybe the tree would be a good start as well..if I can find it..yep..artificial for me.

Thinking of you all.

Tami, sometimes I find if I write down my problem, possible solutions and the pros and cons of each, it helps me to get a clearer grasp of the situation. Often the answer to the dilemma just jumps from the page. Might be worth a try for you. However you choose to tackle this problem, I hope the answer comes to you easily and the situation works out quickly.

It is nice when one medication will help more than one problem. I had a cough medicine, mucinex and codine, for cough and congestion. The codine was to suppress the cough, but it has also helped that terrible irritation pain in throat and upper airway. I am even getting a tad sleepy. I do not think I can stay awake till time for the next dose. Oh well, if I need to repeat it , I will wake up. If I sleep through the night, means I really did not need it, right?

I worked on pillow #3 for Joy today. got a bit more ambitious, did a bit of patchwork, a 4 square triangle from 2 different fabrics, for the front of the pillow. I had to draft my pattern and I got the size I wanted, so I was not totally brain dead from this cold. As my sister's hubby said about his cold, you gonna feel bad anyway, might as well get something done, as he installed new part in sister's ailing dishwasher.

At last count, 11 people from the 18 at our Christmas party have this cold, plus one spouse who could not attend. Others are getting over it, hope tomorrow is my day to turn it around.

Rolanda, have a great time, rest up. We are going to miss you.

Mama, warm will get warmer here tomorrow, forecast is for 78*F/25.5C. Our 10 pm temp is 67F, 19.4C. These are late spring temps. If they continue, plants are really gonna get confused. I saw yellow bells/forsythia bushes that had scattered sparse blooms, late FEB would be an early bloom date for them. There was also a pink tinge to the bare twigs of peach trees, and that should happen late March.

June, the back of my neck was very wet, my hair also. Did I say I turned on the AC for about 3 hours? the sun came out with all that moisture in the air and in the ground, was like a steam bath. I do not like weather this warm, humidity this high, and more rain forecast. I do hope we have no severe weather.

Well, I have run away at the fingers too long, I can blame being well medicated for that

See you all tomorrow, hugs to each of you.

Decorating the tree really did me in. The back was screaming at me so I laid down to rest it until the worst of the pain passed. I woke up nearly 5 hours later. IH did NOT get fed supper by me. I had planned on ham, asparagus and applesauce. It's a real pain not being able to do much anymore. I SO miss the epidurals!

I agree with you all about the real tree! I have seriously failed in my raising of that child!! We went fake when we lived next door to a fire fighter and he kept nagging us and telling us about the tree fire he'd been to the night before... We should have changed back as soon as we moved!

Bugger, I think it's too late to vote. I will check though. ONLINE VOTING IS NOT CURRENTLY
AVAILABLE IN YOUR LOCATION. Now I need to know if she won!

I've just had some surprise visitors - and Alie is the proud owner of a Pandora bracelet!! Spoiled brat!! Two real Pandora charms and some cheaper space fillers that can be replaced over time.. I was with some friends when they were trying to talk the father into forking out to get one for his daughter for xmas so know exactly how much they cost!!!!!!

Heidi hope your back is feeling a bit better. Personally I think a decorated tree is worth it.

MizT, hope the codeine has given you a good night's sleep and that your cold does turn the corner tomorrow.

Brenda and Suzy - my daughter buys her Pandora charms from eBay but you have to make sure they're genuine Pandora. I could ask her which sellers she buys from if you want. They are possibly in Aus but postage on small items isn't too bad.

Suzy, the Victoria looks lovely, I think it is one of the hotels I mentioned to Rolanda when she was making inquiries. That is a safe part of town, right in the heart of the CBD. Not far to any of the main city train stations that will get you to almost any part of Melbourne, including the Dandenong Ranges :)
