Still lightly snowing here, very pretty. About 2 inches fell last night. Going to SLC with Darrell. Have a birthday card to get for my friend/adopted MK director Maria, an anniversary card & present (for Darrell).

It's raining here again. We're starting to get some serious mud.
Robert came over this morning to help me clean the bird cages and move some feed bags. My back has gotten so bad that I can't lift out the bottom trays and empty them. Just as he finished, IH came in to tell us that the recently weaned calves tore down a fence, got into George's hay field, then half jumped another fence into the horse pasture. They were so spooky that the 3 of us could do nothing with them. So I moved the horses into another pasture, we left some fresh hay and grain in their feeding area, alerted George as to what happened and left the calves where they were. IH has gone to Indiana to drop off some pine bedding bales and pick up some lambs. Once he gets back, he and George will repair the fence. My back is not letting me participate.

Heidi, if I remember correctly, tomorrow is your MRI. I hope they can see what is wrong and fix it for you. Please keep us posted.

Tomorrow IS the MRI. It will be interesting to see all of the changes that have occurred in the last 10 or 11 years. That's how long it's been since the last MRI , where they saw a couple of degenerative vertebrae, a couple of degenerative discs, a couple of herniated discs and osteoarthritis.

An up date on Megan... she has been allowed out of hospital for xmas but has to go back in again on the 28th Dec for more chemo. Still a long way to go.

Brenda, continued good thoughts and prayers go out to Megan and her family.

Just woke up from a nap to rest my back.... and woke up to a headache. There are times that I feel like I just can't win.

That is great news about Megan. They must feel confident that she's doing well enough to be away from the hospital for a few days.

Heidi, I am so glad that robert could help you with the birds, and he was available to help with the weaned calves. Good luck on the MRI tomorrow. I hope you tolerate it better than I did, I do not like the closed spaces. OR the lying on my back, lots of pain.

Just talked to my doc's nurse with this cold, get me some more of the good meds for the congestion and cough. I am not going to try to get out today to pick up prescription today. It rained buckets, twice today, if the roads are not flooded, they are as slick as owl ___ One of Al's favorite sayings. Personally I have no first hand knowledge of how slippery owl droppings are, but it sure sounds slippery hehehe.

Had to talk to someome in India today. ATT sent me a letter saying they were going to charge me for the broken modem since I did not use the return shipping label to return it. DUH, they did not send one! If I asked this young man once to please slow down his speach, I asked him every sentence, some of them twice! Could not understand a word he said he raced through it so fast.

There was some severe weather today, a few small shortlived tornadoes, some straight line winds. I KNEW with Dec. temps in the 70's and humidity so high, we were at risk for such. Nothing here but the above mentioned buckets of water, thankfully. Kitty got outside, and was soaked. Came in demanding that I get the towel and dry her. silly Kitty.

I don't open my eyes during MRI's, so I can pretend that I'm in a larger area. I'm dreading laying on my back, too. That's gonna be painful, I know. I'll have to max out on the pain meds beforehand.

Back here because I have to wait for Alie to do her thing before I can do my thing...

eg. her clothes into the laundry before they can be washed and before I can wash her bathroom floor.

I can't fold the clean clothes because the baskets to put them in are in Alie's room with the last lots of folding in them.

I can't wash my kitchen floor because it is covered with her half completed craft stuff. Don't get me wrong, constructing a giraffe's head onto canvas with layers of fabric was extremely creative and the end result is great, BUT, I'm sticking to my floor and I want my table back to looking christmassy!!

Zusy, what am I missing here? You cannot do what? until little miss does her stuff??? Hello!!!

I've never had a problem with MRIs though I do with other small spaces. MRI spaces feel really big to me.

Suzy, you are such a tiny thing, of course MRI leaves you with room, and perhaps in Oz you have the more "open" MRI? Heidi, closing my eyes did not help. That dern machine walls actually touched my shoulders as I went in, and I almost freaked. Made them get me out, let me calm down, explain to me that is should get a bit larger once I was further inside. They just did not tell me it might touch me, not a good feeling. AND they did not tell me it would be so HOT in there.

Heidi, I had pain medication before also. Al drove me to that test. With me not driving, I could take a big dose fore lying on that table. I hope your meds work nicely for you, and the test is bearable or better. Do let us know how it goes tomorrow. When do you see the doc again for results??

Suzy, I know how you feel. I hate it when I must wait for someone to finish their stuff, and get out of my way fore I can do my chores. I would have at least reclaimed the baskets by putting her clean, folded laundry on her bed for her to put away later. The giraffe sounds interesting, but sticking to the floor? that sounds like a lot of glue was involved. Come vent whenever you need to sweetie. We can even throw cyber rocks, which is good for getting rid of stress, and it does not hurt the person who is target. I think for Allie we need little bitty cyber rocks, just to get her attention hehehe.

Well, postponing my trip to town worked well. this afternoon I got a call, made arrangements to meet the aunt of a young man who has a trach, and take left over supplies to them. I had advertised on freecycle.com, I just did not want perfectly good stuff to go to the landfill. I will meet this family in the parking lot near my pharmacy, no extra trips.

Nope, this cold has not turned the corner yet. After I talked to the nurse, I started running a low grade fever. If I am not lots better by Sunday I think i shall stay home. Would have been nice id my niece who was sick had. Last count, only 3 people at the party do not have at least mild colds. There will be a lot of older people at Rogers for Christmas dinner, no need to share with them.

OK, I am going to get something to eat, then go to bed. Not a lot of appetite, I never ate dinner. Had lots to drink, but no real food. Perhaps something lite, a sandwich or some cereal??

Broni, I did eat, cornflakes and banana, and it tasted better than i thought it would. My breakfast, at noon, was substantial, a 2 egg omelet with broccoli, tomato, cheese and sausage,with toast and jelly.

Up for intermission, coughing woke me. Super cough medication taken again. I am considering a nice hot shower, to see if that helps the ache in the ribs from the cough cough.

Of course I had to drop in to see what my friends down under were doing.

I've been home 10 minutes and don't have a glass of wine yet!! What's he thinking??? And the neighbours have some really really really loud (heavy on the bass) music going.

That's carols done for the year, finally! A teeny tiny thing came up to Alie after she sang and told her she was the bestest singer in the whole wide world. Alie said it was soooo cute. I saw Alie bending over to talk to her and she was very cute. She was also upstaged by her backing singers (picked from the audience) for Rudolph. By the end one of them was singing the whole thing with her, it was gorgeous!!

I did get some clothes washed, though by the time she'd worked on her room for an hour the basket was filled again. There were also dirty dishes on my clean sink! But at least we're not sticking to the floor anymore. Hopefully before Xmas morning I'll have my table back to looking christmassy with all the art and craft stuff put away. All of the dry clothes are folded, mine are away and the others are in the correct bedrooms.

Tami, so glad to hear that Melanie won. If she hadn't it wouldn't have been the end of the world though. One of the guest singers on our Xfactor this year came 7th the year she was in it. I can't remember the name offhand but remember thinking she was bigger than some of the winners are now.

MizT, I had 2 MRIs in the US too..but I was a lot smaller then than I am now. How wonderful that you were able to help the young man and his family! I bet it felt like an extra Xmas present to them. Suzy, I agree. Even if Melanie hadn't won, she would have been heard of. A few of the American Idol non-winners are doing better than the winners. Jennifer Hudson wasn't even in the top 3 (or top 5) I think and she already won several major awards.

Tricia, Josh has a good voice also and I am sure he will have a career. Rachel will also come out a winner. Heard that she was already approached by Disney.

For those down under, Rachel is a 13 year old powerhouse. She was in the top 5 and broke down in tears when she was sent home. It just shows she is still a little girl. Had heard earlier that Disney had approached her before that and said if you don't win, we want you.
