Morning all. Coffee is ready, help yourself.

Julie, my cousins are not usually negative, just facing facts. My aunt is almost 93 years old. She is aware of what is going on and accepting of the fact that the end is near. Her mother lived to be 104 but was in a nursing home and not really "with it" I don't think that is what my aunt wants.

Had to reschedule the Vet appointment to this afternoon. They couldn't squeeze Willow in this morning. That will give me time to clean out the back seat of my truck to fit in the puppy's crate. No way will those little demons ride loose. Willow will be bad enough.

Suzy..... ((((( HUGS ))))) I think Rolanda's TOPP is a mantra you need to repeat to yourself while your mother is talking. Send her a copy, too. You can do nothing to change the past. And people tend to live down to your expectations. If you act like Dana will hurt you again, she will. If you treat her like she won't hurt you, and will behave well, she just might improve. In other words, if you expect the worst from her, you'll get it. I prefer your way of setting a better example for Dana of what a mother's love should be.

((HUGS)) Suzy.
I was trying to imagine trying to drive with three puppies loose in a vehicle Heidi, but should have known you would have a crate for them.
D#1 has just bought a new to her car which she is going to crate off the back area (it's an estate)
Not sure if I have mentioned but we are hoping to have a new puppy in April. The pups are due on the 8th Feb. I'm looking forward to it as it is a Sheltie (my favourite breed). Trying to think up names at the moment. Male. Trouble is being part of an agility club D's friend have lots of dogs between them and some of their names are the ones we like.

There's no law saying that you can't use a name somebody else has used. Use the name you like the best, and that fits the puppy, no matter what anybody else thinks. You have to live with it.

I know we can use whatever name we like it just makes it a little awkward when the dogs are competing in the same competitions or even at training, which is why we want a unique name for our pup. We might wait until we see the pup before deciding, and take into consideration what the kennel club name will be.

I can't believe that I actually cleaned out the back seat of my truck!!! There is stuff there from Fionafest, and earlier. The bulkiest things were stuff IH had dumped back there the few times I let him use my truck. He's constantly criticizing me for having a messy truck (it IS a working farm truck, after all) and then he fills it with his debris. I've been pulling out rolls of high tensile wire and an insulating blanket for transporting frozen carcasses without a freezer, that he left in back. Now there's room for the puppy's crate and for Willow to get comfortable. Her hip or stifle is very painful today.

Back from the Vet Clinic. It wasn't quite as crazy as I expected it to be, mainly 'cause the puppies were intimidated. Except Sandy, of course. She was her normal mouthy self. Willow has a stifle (knee) injury that will need anti-inflammatories and 2 weeks crate rest. It could have been a lot worse.

They said at the Vet clinic that Shiloh was in yesterday for his shots. They said that he's spoiled rotten and much loved. They were also amazed at how handsome he's gotten. I feel so proud. These are the only parent brags I can have.

Morning all,
Brenda, I can't wait to see puppy photos!

Heidi, I'm glad Willow's treatment is relatively easy, though I'm sure 2 weeks in a crate after the freedom she normally has won't make her happy.

Off to have coffee with a friend today. This is a friend I don't see very often. She was one of my bridesmaids back in the day... Can't wait to hear why she's all the way down here! I suspect it's work related. She is a contractor for a major fuel company.

Dana visited the sperm donor yesterday. She figures they should have a civil relationship for the baby's sake. Would you believe he asked if he was put on the birth certificate would he get some of the baby bonus!!!! For the top siders, the baby bonus is a controversial bonus given to new mothers to help them set up for the baby. It was originally given as a lump sum, until they worked out it was buying big screen TV's and even used cars. Now it is paid out over 12 months (I think).

Suzy: I agree with TTT, by the way, what is "baby bonus"?
If he's not willing to take responsibility, he should NOT benefit in ANY way!!!
Heidi: Good for Shiloh (and you, proud mama!!)

The money is supposed to be used for the baby, not for a sperm donor to make money with. If that was the case, slimy men would be trying to impregnate every girl they could to make money.

Hi all. Was going to come back yesterday, but a neighbor stopped by last night.

I missed & thought of you all a lot. Tried to get here a few months ago, but I opened an e-mail from someone who's account was "highjacked" & my computer got trashed. Had to spend a few days getting everything back. By that time, another "crisis" came up.

Will try to read back to see what I've missed, but it seems almost too much. You guys are such a chatty bunch.

boy, that trip to doc's office took the wind out of my sails, the driving part was easy, it was all the walking needed, I think. I did sneak in a couple of errands while in town.

anyhow, doc is pleased with my progress, tests were all normal, lungs are clear, so no new issues, he does not know what caused my problems but is OK with that as long s I am improving. Keep up what I am doing, come back in a month.

I have had lunch, nap, dinner, nap, and now bedtime snack and meds, If rest and good food do the trick, I should be better tomorrow.

good night all, see you on the flip side.

Becky, don't try to catch up on the history, it would be so overwhelming we'd never get to see you! Just a couple of pages back will let you know where we are now...

Dana apparently told Three that if he was willing to take the baby at least 35% of the time and prove it, he could get some of her money. He said, oh okay, never mind then. She wouldn't let him take the baby anyway, he's still taking some drugs apparently. Heidi I had the same rant you did about something for nothing. Your offer sounds pretty good too.

Alie had a bit of a melt down today. My mother laid the vegetarian thing on super thick and scared the cr@p out of her. She had good intentions and she was right - Alie is sick almost all the time now etc. - but she did it the wrong way. I gave her a big hug and explained that we are all worried about her because we know she isn't getting the goodies she needs but I'm not going to force her to eat meat (as if I could anyway), she just needs to be more adventurous and try more foods and eat more often etc etc. She was sobbing and shaking - I am supposed to eat 5 meals a day and I can't eat that much!! She must have had the compromise in her head and because I didn't beat her over the head she felt able to voice it. She will be eating some chicken and sea food. (I hope!)

MizT, it must be working as you are getting better. I hope you get to keep your aides though...

Tami, I suspect that although Aunt Lil is content with her decision, those who will miss her are wishing she'd made a different choice. I hope I keep my brain long enough to make my own choices... and that they are choices that do not impose on others.

Gekko my friends.
Was sent home early today in case I could not get back with all the creeks and rivers flooding. Rain has eased off at the moment but everything is sodden.
MizT, glad to hear you survived your trip, hope you sleep well tonight. Good news from the doc too.
Becky, what Zusy said, we would love to hear how you are.

Sleepy greetings from here. I really got slowed down with things today because of a long acupuncture appointment. Luckily, it seems to have helped!

Broni, your suggestion for writing receipts would be good, except that those who pay dues at the meeting need their receipt then and there and we don't have computer set-up. It's just those who send me their dues whose receipts I write at home. Otherwise, I spend most of the first couple of meetings each year trying to keep up with those who pay. It's easier to be sure I don't miss anyone if they pay by check, rather than cash.

Rolanda and others dealing with excessive heat, I'm sending you cooling thoughts! Too bad you don't have more cooling capability in your rental! I hope you and Peter made plans for adequate cooling in the new house!

Suzy, you're very astute. Yes, Brenda's beautiful knit projects are inspiring. I was also thinking about an embroidery I started (and never finished) when my sister had her first child. He is about to become a father in early February. Wouldn't it be nice if I could finish the project and give to him and his wife for their first baby?

Vicki, CynB and others getting so much rain, I hope the catch basins are getting filled and nothing of importance is washing away!

June, good for you being pleased with your bowls game! Thanks for thinking of Becky! It got her to post a quick comment!

MizT, so glad you had planned ahead to gathered what you needed for your "therapy muffins!" What a great way to spend your therapy time - and very practical! I hope your doctor appointment went well today!

Suzy, I'm sure your Mum was just trying to make you aware of what might yet come with all of the stress in the next few months. While she may be right, I'm sure you are more than aware that all might not progress smoothly. Are you able to let her know that for now, you just would like to enjoy the way things are currently and not worry about what might lay ahead? Worry never changed the course of events, just makes the time leading up to events more stressful and less enjoyable. {{{HUGS}}}
