Hi all...Still listening and gaining wisdom from the many great comments posted on these pages.
Hope those faced with so much rain and heat, to say nothing of the humidity...hang in there... it will soon come to an end, just hoping that you find relief sooner rather than later.
Snow has melted and temps increased to very mild 50's, with nice sunshine...don't know how long it will last, but I'm enjoying it for now. It's a treat to have those high temps in late January...just hope when time comes when we should be having this weather every day, we won't be chilling with weather fit for now..LOL!
Ezra and GD#2 have gone, GD#1 and Angelique are still here, but this GD is much more helpful than my Gemini kid, yet I lament her lack of fighting spirit and get up and go that the other one has in spades. Reina is too sweet and I think others may take advantage of her...with Imani I think it would be harder. Oh well, Reina has been an adult for awhile now, but I still feel the need to protect her more....Hmmmm...wonder why that is??? Just thinking aloud here folks.
Thinking of you all and find myself cheering many accomplishments such as Tricia's health improvement and driving herself to the doctor...doing some side errands no less..., June's good bowling game, and Suzy's mental outlook regarding enjoying the calm time with Dana even if storms do come later...
happy to see Becky dropping in and Heidi's clever idea for three..he he... liking your style girlfriend.
Moving on with hope that Julie has a great cello lesson, those who are suffering, find relief comes your way and visits for a long while, and hope the rains slow to a point that at least helps ease the necessary travel to and fro. May those who sorrow, feel the sunshine of a new day, may those who care for the sick and disabled parents, friends, spouse or children , know the joy of helping others and that their efforts really mean something in this hard world we live in.
Despite the weather may all of you down under enjoy Australia Day! Aussie Aussie OI Oi Oi!♥♥♥

Happy Australia Day!

This little black duck had best get her act together and pack her bags if she wants to spend a long weekend at the beach. Have a lovely weekend all!

Vicki, from the posts I'm seeing, unless the beach is down here you might have a better time at home!

Dana joins all of the mum pages on FB and this morning one of them posted a photo of their stall, today, on our local showground!! What are the odds of that? One of the others is in the UK, another in the US.. and one is in our town???? If you lived here you'd realise how strange that is.

Viv, big hugs!!!

Mamacita, that's how I often feel about my kids. Hard to parent, but at least I know they know how to stand up for themselves!

I'm back from our township Australia Day celebration, and I had a sausage in bread with tomato sauce, and a cup of coffee.
We all stood for the national anthem and watched several citizens and groups get awards for services to the community.
The one nearest and dearest to my heart was the one given to the Save the Kinder Action Committee, of which many of you may know through my rantings and ravings on Facebook some months ago. Kindly, many of my Sudoku friends signed the petition which was instrumental in stopping the demolition of this great building which saved many people when the Ash Wednesday bushfires of 1983. Our hope is the building will be refurbished and house a memorial to that horrific day and the heroism that came of it and an educational centre to teach the dangers of living in this beautiful, yet fire-prone area.

Heidi, show me anyone with chronic pain that enjoys the pain meds, and i will show you the exception to the rule. It just doesn't happen. Enjoys the lack of pain yes, but not the meds.

Very busy day here, nurse, Occupational therapist, and physical therapist here today I had ultrsound to the shoulders, a long list of exercises, this time adding resistance with elastic bands, a TENS treatment to back, each therapist took me for a walk outside. I made it to the dome with OT, some work will have to be done to make it a shelter from storms for me, It needs a chair, the TV connected to the antenna, find the remote, find the heater and the blankets and such. OT and I did that walk, with my cane instead of walker, boy almost more than i could do. Needed naps between and fell sleep after dinner too. but both say I am really getting stronger, that is what matters. No one tomorrow but my aide to help with bath and skin care. Maybe i can catch up on rest and on ll my friends here,

Till tomorrow, I leave hugs for each of you, with extra.

Wow Tricia! That's a lot for one day. Is it better to have them all one day and rest the next or do you wish they could spread them out a bit? I hope you get the dome all ready before the next tornado scare. You will rest easier knowing you are safe... so will I...

I loved my pain meds when I had my accident! I didn't float or feel anything weird, the pain just went away and I went to sleep. It was nice...

We are having fun with a gurney today! Never had people argue over whose turn it was to clean before!!!

Hi, Everyone!

Tami, keeping your Aunt Lil in my thoughts! Wishing here the peace she would like and deserves and no lingering.

I guess I'm reading yesterday's news, but don't want to completely miss a special greeting. Happy Australia Day!

Brenda, how exciting that you're looking forward to the arrival of a Sheltie puppy!

Heidi, you're entitled to brag about your dogs, your birds and any other "animal" children you have! We also like to see your pictures! What good news that Shiloh is well loved and growing more handsome by the day! Also good news that your 3 puppies did well at the vet. I hope Willow isn't too upset by being crated to keep her activity to a minimum and help the inflammation subside! Hopefully she's good about taking medications!

Suzy, I can hardly believe that sperm donor had the nerve to ask if he would be getting part of the baby bonus! Does he understand the purpose of it? It's certainly not to buy drugs for the S.D.! He's lucky all of us "cyber aunts" weren't there to give him an idea of what kind of bonus he deserves!

Becky, don't even try to get caught up by reading. It's a killer even when I am without computer for a week or two. Just start reading and feel free to ask a question if there's anything that doesn't make sense. You'll be "up to speed" in no time! And, Back!

MizT, I hope you had a restful day after your exhausting day yesterday going to the doctor. I'm so glad he's pleased with your progress! Good for you!

Suzy, give Alie a hug! Gosh, your Mum got you and Alie! Does she get double points for that? She must just be really worried about the upcoming events and doing the only thing she can think of to do from long distance - play the GUILT card. Our younger D has been a vegetarian for about 15 years. Initially we were extremely concerned. There are SO many cookbooks, blogs, collections of recipes, etc. now to make it easier. Hopefully Alie eats some beans and lentils. Are you able to get quinoa there? In some ways it's like a rice, but it's high in protein. It can be eaten like oatmeal, in salads, in a casserole. Maybe you and Alie can make it a mother-daughter effort to find and try one new vegetarian meal each week.

I hope the rain is easing for those who have been getting plenty of it, and hope the temperatures are moderating for those who have been dealing with extreme heat!

Heidi, I hope your back is better today!

Now, let's see how many posts are on page 326.

Another great TOPP, June!

Mamacita, what a wonderful post! I'm sure you'll miss your GD#2 and baby Ezra! All the best to them as the readjust to being home! How long will GD#1 and Angelique be with you?

Vicki, I hope the weekend at the beach is enjoyable! Hopefully, you will be able to spend some time on it!

Theresa, we're alway glad to see you. Pop in any time you get a chance and say Hi!

Gail, your Australia Day celebration sounds terrific!

MizT, another VERY busy day - but also productive! I hope you get some time to rest tomorrow!

Broni, I hope it has cooled off a bit and is less humid!

Time to put myself to bed. Positive thoughts, healing vibes, prayers, and {{{{{HUGS}}}}} for everyone!

War has been declared!

They're both right and both wrong! Dana is telling Alie off when she does the wrong thing.. like a mother. And Alie is just being a B... yes with a capital B... very, very hurtful. I think she may be reacting to having to share the house again.

Suzy. Alie has also seen how you have been hurt and a lot of that reaction may be because of that.
Quiet day. Ken bowled but they had enough people without me so I stayed home with MIL. The club have a special fun day for Australia day.
Laura is coming tomorrow till Saturday night. She will be back at school on Monday.
We have had quite a bit of rain but nothing like further north. Good luck at the beach Victoria.

Suzy, I wish they could spread them out a bit. therapists also wish they could be spread out a bit, but scheduling is not up to them, it is done centrally, trying to reduce driving nd such between clients. sometimes it just happens that way. By 4 am I was hurting and pain meds not helping, from weather? From 2 days of pushing way hard? Ice to the rescue, that and change from bed to chair and i went back to sleep.

Poor Tami, black and blue from cyber pokes, it is only cause you are loved.

June, hope you can enjoy your time with Laura this weekend. any special plans? I know you always have things for her to do in mind.

Suzy, hope the war of the daughters lets up some soon. It has to be unpleasant for all involved.

Julie, lovely summary, but not a word about YOU. Is the water aerobics going OK? Can you see your table top yet? How many members have paid up? We do like to know these things, you know.

See Suzy? What you loved was the absence of pain, entirely different from those seeking a high, just like I said, so there hehehe.

Broni, since we are getting rain anyway, i will take yours for you, so the humidity can go down. Hope you do get some relief. May the water all seek the catch ponds or whatever you call them.

Suzanne, happy for you that the Red Hat Society luncheon was a good meeting. I hope you continue to enjoy them.

OK, I canhave coffee now, or I can go back to bed, or coffee first and then back to bed? Hope that bed feels better than it did middle of the night.

Hugs to each of you, with extras,

Congratulations Gail. I take it you were one of the 10 in the committee who received this award..

"The award for Community Event of the Year went to the Save the Old McBride St Kindergarten Action Group.

The committee of 10 developed and implemented a successful campaign to mobilise support to prevent demolition of the former kindergarten building in McBride St.

The building sheltered hundreds during the Ash Wednesday fires and there are now hopes it will be restored as a fire education and information centre, with a coffee shop and children’s playground." .....The Berwick Leader

Suzy... Alie may be p*ssed off by getting orders and instructions from someone who has messed up their life as badly as Dana has. Dana has proven that she doesn't have good judgement, or the right answers. I would be reacting the same way Alie is. It may not be the most mature response, but it can be necessary for your own self esteem.

Heidi, knew you did not like pain ills. reason I said no one really in pain does.

Now just how did you chip your "new" tooth? this has to be interesting.

YEAH to Gail and the kindergarten building Community Event. Hope it ontinues to go forward as planned.

WELL, we have tornado watch till 5 pm. Sheesh, they said it would not be a warning this far north. Mother Nature made a liar of them once again. So I watch and I hope No tornadoes come through here. Just solid rain and more rain at the moment, not even any thunder or severe thunderstorms. we will see.

Think I will turn on TV to the station that always breaks in for warnings, then doze in my chair. Maybe read a word or two, this is a silly book I am reading, not sure where it came from. Not my kind of book at all.A good book to fall sleep reading hehehe.

I have no idea how I chipped the tooth. The Dentist asked me the same thing. At least it was easy to repair. I really like this Dentist. Not only is she the best I've ever been to, but she's a genuinely fun person. So is her husband. I invited them to join us at my favorite Indian restaurant for my birthday (2 weeks from now).

Good luck with the tornado scares, MizT. We're getting the rain, too, but no strong fronts to cause rotation. There is a possibility of snow flurries here for the next few days. That always worries me. Not the snow, but if it's raining and the temperature drops enough, the water on the ground turns to ice. We have a lot of standing water since the ground is fully saturated.

Hi, Everyone! Woo Hoo, I'm here before midnight. If I read and type fast I may be in bed before 12:30 a.m.

Oh, Suzy, is it not enough to have to deal with your Mum hurting your and Alie's feelings? Now, your Ds are reacting to each other! Unfortunately, it's going to happen as they work out their new "pecking" order. Guidelines may be needed. Dana will be the mother of her baby, but no one else in the house. Everyone other than the baby that is coming needs to act like an adult. Rooms may need to be placed off-limits. Anyone older than 10 will need to learn to speak in a soft voice, as loud, angry voices will affect the sleep of those who need it. Hopefully things can be somewhat settled in the next couple of weeks as everyone learns their new roles. Good luck!

June, enjoy the time with your MIL and with Laura. I hope it will be a pleasant weekend! I hope they get along with each other!

MizT, here's hoping for a much better night's sleep tonight. At least you didn't seem to be as busy today. I guess it makes sense that a central scheduling arranges when therapists or nurses visit. There's probably an oversight committee that makes sure appointments are scheduled in a certain way and to save travel time and costs between them. That kind of efficiency seems to take over, instead of the efficiency of what is best for the patient/client. Also hoping any severe weather has moved out of your area so it doesn't cause any sleep interruptions.

June, thanks for sharing the information on the success of the committee to prevent demolition of the former kindergarten building in McBride St. I hope renovation plans can proceed! Gail, good for you for being involved with the petitions!

Heidi, so glad the dentist appointment went well and the repair of the new tooth! Doesn't it drive you crazy that you don't know how it happened? Your dentist and her husband sound great! What a terrific idea to go out to dinner together!

Rolanda, I'm glad you could enjoy an air conditioned Australia Day! Is there any relief from the heat in sight? I hope you don't have any reason that you must be outside!

We have 104 paid members for the wood club, so about 70 still need to get their act together and pay, but that may take a couple of months. Only a few membership cards left to be printed. We'll address and stuff envelopes with receipt, membership card and thank you letter, but not seal or stamp. Our next meeting is in 2 weeks, so we'll see how many we can "hand deliver" at the meeting - trying to save and use postage only for those who don't attend. I have processed 30 checks and about $500 cash in the last 3 weeks, so a bank run is necessary. Then, we'll attempt to clear the table, as D arrives Sunday afternoon. Clean sheets & blankets on the bed; clean towels hanging in clean bathrooms; upstairs vacuumed. We're getting there.
