Rolanda, I would be spending the day with the AC on from early morning.
For our Queensland friends, I hope you are surviving the wet and the floods.
We all went out to lunch today. Laura was disappointed that we did not go to the 'lobster shop'. OK for her but we wanted a change of chef.
Then Laura and I did some grocery and other shopping. All asleep now.

Cool day here... just above freezing ... and my back hurts, and I have a headache. I also need to move some hay today. Ah, well.

Not that good a day. The tractor behaved well, and I got the load of hay from 5 miles away. But as I was pulling the load of hay around the barn, I thought I'd swung the hay hauler clear of the 16 ft. trailer, but I didn't. I will have to replace the ball hitch and the jack. Then as I was feeding the cows, I found a dead calf. It was a freemartin born in late November. Nothing is harder on calves than cold mud, and we have too much of it.

Heidi, do your backaches get weo=rse with the storm fronts that come through? I have had 2 this week, one with each storm, and took a day of "do nothing" to help get it better, that and the TENS unit and heavy pain pills.

My sister phoned me from Hawaii again today. BIL is gone on a caving trip, one that starts with a descent down a ladder, sister said NO THANKS to that. she is sitting home catching up on phone calls and internet posts, watching the local birds, discovering new orchids blooming today. and trying to get a photo of one resident bird. Said it moves about so fast, with the delay in a digital camera, they get lots of photos of "where the bird just was" hehehe They will be home by Tuesday.

I went outside for some sun today, sun was warm, sky was wonderfully blue, the wind was very cold. I did not stay long, could not find a spot that was sheltered from the wind. But it was nice to be outside for a bit.

The hot spinny thing is running, half a load, the trousers. I hung the shirts on hangers and put them outside. Doubt they will dry today, but can come inside to dry overnight.

I must make salmon patties for dinner, I try to feed Joy when she comes. she is doing the shopping on her way down, so will be nice to have something to eat once she arrives. We will sort out veggies once she is here.

Time to put the TENS unit on, I forgot to get the Physical therapists do it fore she left today. I can get it on, just not in a neat rectangle, but it works. It does help a lot. Heidi, I do wish you had not zapped yourself with a TENS, it really could improve your back. Mine is not very high, if turned all the way up I might feel same as you do.

Hope to be back again soon, I have comments need making to all the lovely posts today. Till later, hugs to each of you.

Heidi, so sorry to hear about the dead calf. It has to be heartbreaking to see one of them die. Hope that is the only one, and that the mud dries up soonest.

We're supposed to have MORE wet stuff come down tomorrow! There were areas of the pasture where the tractor sank down about 15 inches! That's too much mud!

IH has struck again!!! He just informed me that his plant just got a letter from the IRS, telling them that they owe a bunch of money in taxes, and they need to pay it by Feb. 6th, or the Feds will take over the plant. I said "good". IH then said that they could go after our farm, too. My eyes bugged out, and I asked him if he was stupid enough to use the farm for collateral on the mortgage, without my permission or agreement, when they bought the plant. He admitted that he did. He actually had the gall to ask me to lend him the money to pay off the IRS!!!!! I reminded him that he already owes me over $11.000 that I've lent him for the plant, and he hasn't repaid me a cent yet. I told him to get a loan from the bank like other people do. And he's NOT to use the farm as collateral again.

Now doesn't that make the rest of you grateful for your husbands?

Thank you for the compliment/TOPP, June! I think you're right. That attitude is probably what keeps bringing us back here! Thanks to ALL of my fabulous SA friends!

Heidi, so sorry your day didn't go well! Hope you have a FABULOUS day tomorrow! Hopefully you'll get some sun to dry up some of the mud! So sorry about losing the calf!

MizT, you got a lot done! So nice you could get out in the sun and blue sky! Too bad there was wind to go with it. So glad you have the TENS unit and know how to use it!

Rolanda, VERY busy day for you and P, but so important when making decisions for the new house. I hope it's cooler tomorrow for the ffuts you have planned!

Tami, I hope you have a very restful sleep after your rough day today. Hopefully things will look better tomorrow after you have slept and refreshed! Sorry it was not so great!

Heidi, every time IH doesn't something stupid, I think he can't possibly top it, and each time he proves me wrong! I don't know how you do it - you have the patience of a saint! I think I've figured out what causes the pain in your back and neck and anywhere else. Hang in there, Sweetie! You have our support!

Looks like I may make it to bed by 1, so I'm going to skedaddle out of here. {{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}, positive thoughts, , healing vibes and prayers for all my friends! Good Night!

My day yesterday, be warned vent coming. I was in my 5th period class, which is small. The kids were doing there work, quietly for once, when a teacher came to see me. She told me I had to print reports for her. I asked her to what printer. "don't you have a printer in here?" no. "send it to the printer in my old room." I don't have it installed on my laptop. "send it to teacher planning." Ok, what is your mailbox number? (we are wireless and can send to any printer in the school as long as you have the address) "I don't use that printer or my mailbox, send it to the other one." I don't have that one installed. "i'll come back next block and cover your class so you can go get the address you need and install it on your laptop." When she left I called my Ass. Principal. She came over and calmed me down. Next block teacher came back when I was on the phone with a parent (I made sure to have a looong conversation) She finally got tired of waiting and told me to call her when I was done. I never did.

I don't mind helping a teacher who needs it but don't come telling me what I have to do when you should be able to do it also. I could not tell her off as I had students present. I might see her today when I go to Saturday school. As long as no students are nearby I will give her a piece of my mind.

What a cheek Tami. At least she should know better than to interrupt your class.
Went to bed early and now cannot get back to sleep. I was sewing and doing things with Laura, then her father was coming to dinner (and took her home) but by the time I was finished my back was letting me know I had done enough. OK now after a good rest.
Hope all our Queenslanders are OK with all the rain they are having.

Incredible, Tami!!!!!! Does she think that you're her personal assistant or secretary? Does she think that you have more free time than she does? If she has time to hang around waiting to talk to you, she has time to do the work herself. I hope you REALLY give it to that..... that .... um.... I don't know the right name for someone like that, other than "Gil".
This morning, he asked me to run up to the accountant's, and pick up the finished taxes to sign (for 2008... he's that far behind), which is a 40 minute drive each way. Then he had the gall to tell me that he'd brought his mail in this morning, but left mine in the mailbox for me to retrieve.

Hi All.
Heidi....Gil is a piece of work...but then you already know that... just too much, and yes, Tami's experience with the teacher does make one think of Gil and his attitude. I do believe its called 'entitled'? I was sorry to hear about your calf too.

Vicky, Belated birthday wishes for a tremendous year.
June, glad you have learned to rest when your back lets you know that enough is enough...seems many of us are learning to listen more carefully to our bodies. As for your absolutely wonderful topp...I agree to the max that we seem to have many givers on this site...what a find it has been for all of us.
Tami, looking forward to the shared reaction when you let 'Ms Entitled' find that she should not expect others to do that which she can do for herself...its one thing to seek a favor,But.....attitude of expectancy will get her no where!
Broni...you cheeky thing you...you do ask such great questions...hehe.
Hoping the weather is more bearable for all...here it has rained almost every day since I last posted but the temps have been too mild for the season..I'm not complaining, but afraid that when its time to be nice, I'll be faced with a bunch of bad days, or we'll have the type of heat that those down under are suffering with now...really don't wish to deal with that kind of extreme either. Well, not too much I can do about it...worrying won't solve or prevent what will be...as Gail says...will be.
Have a great remainder of the weekend all, where ever you hang your hat.♥

Thanks for the support everyone. This is not the first time Ms. Entitled has acted this way. I saw her today but did not say much more than hello. I am waiting for her to "ask" again. I have never refused a request from a friend, but she does not make requests. She gives orders and that is what really ticked me off.

Morning all,
Tami, that's what I got when I read your post - who is this teacher who is 'telling' Tami to print something that isn't Tami's?? I read it several times because it felt like I must have misunderstood. I call people like her Queen of the world. I'm surrounded by a few teenagers with that attitude, seems like she should have grown out of it by now.

This has just reminded me of a guy who told me off because I said 'excuse me' when he was blocking an aisle. He shut up when I said 'I'm sorry, I didn't realise I was talking to someone more important than me...'

Heidi, he probably took the water, electricity and telephone bills though so he can not pay those again. I'm wondering what he does with his money. He's not paying any bills or taxes. Where is it all going?

Can you get the farm off the other mortgage since you didn't approve it being there. Seems like the bank had a duty to its customer there that it failed.. I felt the same way about you going to pick up the taxes as I did about Tami being asked to print off the reports. Did you say no, or did you go?

June, I hope you eventually got back to sleep.

Mamacita, how are your grandie and great grandie today? Hopefully one step closer to independence, and not just for your sake.

Rolanda, definitely stay at home and don't move a muscle weather over your way. I hope you got all of your errands done and can stay home today. I wouldn't worry too much about the rental inspection. On your worst day your house is probably better than many are on their best.

Blue skies, a bit of a breeze and temps more nearly normal, in the 50's instead of the 70's. I do want to get out into the sun though, it feels so very good. tonight we get a freeze, wold be about -2C, or 28F. I have a feeling it will be chilly even inside tonight.

Heidi, Gil has topped himself, he keeps coming up with more and more that is mind blowing. I hope you can work something out to protect your farm. Farm in both names? In your name only? Seems what he has been doing borders on the criminal.

Mama, good to see you, and with so much rain, do you have webbed feet yet?

Tami hope you can get a minute alone with said teacher, gee you don't "gotta" do squat for her.

The main farm (house and 102 acres) is in both names. That doesn't stop IH. He has been known to forge my signature (badly) to bank loans before. The first new vehicle I bought was a Toyota van, and I paid in cash for it. No loan. Without my knowledge, IH financed it and forged my signature! He got a large sum of cash and paid it off. I didn't learn about it until I heard him telling someone that HE bought the van for me! That's when I went into the 3rd degree on him.

Good mAen everyone.
Last night, hubby and I were invited to my future SIL's family holiday house to finally meet the outlaws! I had briefly met his Mum before but this time I met his stepfather and younger sister as well. They treated us to a barby and a view to die for. They are lovely, generous people, and we enjoyed their company immensely...hope they can say the same about us! We all figured it would be nice to actually know each other before the engagement party at their place at the end of February :)

Suzanne... the only thing I can do to keep the farm from jeopardy is to loan them the money for the taxes if they cannot get it otherwise. There is nothing else I can do except threaten to perform a certain "operation" where the sun don't shine, if he ever does this again. Unfortunately, the farm will remain as collateral until their mortgage is paid off. That's years from now.

Greetings to All!

Heidi, I continue to shake my head in disbelief. Broni and Tami asked the $64,000 question about his life insurance. Do you have an excellent attorney and accountant? Is there any way to "itemize" all of the financial blunders and actually list and tally what his stupidity has cost you? I'm just thinking you might want to be well armed (figuratively) in case the Internal Revenue Service comes after IH/you. Is there anything you can legally do? Maybe have him declared mentally incompetent? I am shocked that even though we have heard of a number of his shenanigans previously, he seems to have "outdone" himself. Feel free to vent here as often as needed to try to maintain your sanity!

Tami, the other teacher certainly had a lot of nerve to expect that you would do whatever she demanded - and at the moment she demanded it! Certainly seems like something she should be able to do, but just didn't want to put in the time or effort to get it done. It's not right for her to expect you to do her work for her. It kind of seems like she was late in getting it done and/or had a deadline to meet. Perhaps she needed to plan ahead and be prepared! I'm glad you didn't need to do anything more than say hello this morning! Seems like it's not worth your time and aggravation to have to deal with her.

June, I hope your back is feeling better and you were able to get back to sleep!

Heidi, yep, Gil sounds much like Little Ms.-Entitled-Teacher with an attitude. Was he so busy that he couldn't go to the accountant? Were his hands so full that he couldn't bring your mail into the house when he brought his own?

Mama, I hope you have a quiet, restful and DRIER weekend!

Wishing at least a few drier days for those who are beginning to feel moldy - wherever in the world you are! Maybe some of the heat could move over the wet areas and dry them out a bit - without increasing the humidity.

Rolanda, so glad to hear that it is supposed to be a bit less hot today. (I was going to say "cooler," but thought better of it; "less hot" seems more accurate.)

Gail, your dinner/get-to-know-you with future in-laws sounds great! So nice to feel that you know them somewhat before the engagement party! (We met first D's in-laws a few days before the wedding. Luckily we had those few days to interact and feel comfortable with them - wouldn't want to have met them AT the wedding!) Of course, they would also say that they enjoyed being in the company of you and S!

Heidi, what, if anything, do you know of IH's "partners"? Do they contribute anything to the plant? Are THEIR names on any paperwork and could they also be subject to losing their homes if they go in default? Is there any way to get everything out in the open with IH? Here's hoping something will get through to him!

Rolanda, great accomplishments today! Is it standard practice that someone comes to check up on renters an

Broni and Heidi, I hope the mud soon is dried up or frozen and covered with a dusting of snow so you don't have lots of paw prints to clean up!

I'm going to call it a night. Got a lot done here today, but still more to do before D arrives tomorrow afternoon. Take care, Everyone! Positive thoughts, prayers, healing vibes, , and {{{{{{HUGS}}}}}} for each of you and those you love!
