Both home, and Dimmie just heard the little one crying and came in from outside to check on her. It was really cute.

We had a black out for a while, luckily that is over. I'm not allowed to have the fan on because of the baby though :(

Natahlia sleeps so soundly that we keep checking to see if she's still breathing, especially when she's wrapped in a blanket. It's really hot here out of the air conditioning so we can see smaller movements..

I hope you have cooler weather than I have for the move Vicki.

Warning VENT:
Three's mother - you know the one, the one who encouraged Dana to leave home etc. etc. etc., sent abusive text messages to Dana while she was pregnant, got Dana's number from Three and sent a text asking if she could come HERE to meet the baby!!! NO way, never, forget it.

Suzy, just read your post above mine. Talk about winning friends - sure, let's send abusive text messages, then expect everyone to drop everything and welcome her with open arms? No social skills involved there!

Morning all. Coffee is ready, help yourself.
Suzy, still got a big cup reserved for you. Glad Natahlia is home and doing well. If Three's mother causes more problems, tell her I'm sending the beastie boys to her house.
Gail, saw pictures on the other site. They make a beautiful couple.

What nerve! What goes through her head to send abusive texts to Dana, first off, then expect to be welcomed to your home?
By the way..... when does Three start paying child support?

Good Morning friends. It is a lovely early spring day here today, sunny, breezy, low low humidity. My hsaw will dry quickly on the line.

Yep, the sloshy thing and the hot spinny thing have been going. Hang the clothes and towels, tumble undies and other small things.

Nurse came yesterday, said in 2 weeks will be last visit. I am wondering why she is still coming even now.

Suzy, what the others said, so glad you said "NO WAY". Who says no fan cause of the baby? I see no harn as long as it is not blowing directly on her.

Tami, thanks for the coffee, that first cup of the morning is wonderful.

Gail, hope everyone enjoyed the engagement party. Come by and tell us how it went, when you can.

Just talking about coffee, think I need another cup, Hugs to each of you till later.

The calf count is now 11 bull calves and 2 heifer calves, 1 of which is purebred and a keeper. We couldn't have a better start to calving season.

I was wondering about the fan near the baby, too. Isn't it possible to overheat her? I've never raised a human baby, but I've hand reared a lot of animal babies, and you need to keep them warm, but not too warm. They can become rapidly dehydrated. Just keep the temperature comfortable for her, and no direct drafts. There is no reason that anybody should have to suffer from the heat.
The human race survived for millenia without special temperature control for babies, and they can continue to survive in the same temperatures that we do. I realize that she's too young yet to maintain her own body temperature, but that doesn't mean that she has to be baked, either.
That's my 2 cents worth.

Hello all. Just trying to catch up on the reading.

Suzy, the only thing for my shoulder/arm right now is physio. I'll try that for now, and maybe slip in some acupuncture. Fingers crossed.

We had a bit of a nasty winter storm yesterday. Once again the ground is covered in white. Winter has been easy on us this year, but it's not over yet!!!

Off to read the last page ...

A mouse looked through the crack in the wall to see the farmer and his wife open a package. "What food might this contain?", the mouse wondered. He was devastated to discover it was a mousetrap.

Retreating to the farmyard, the mouse proclaimed this warning : "There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!"

The chicken clucked and scratched, raised her head and said, "Mr. Mouse, I can tell this is a grave concern to you, but it is of no consequence to me. I cannot be bothered by it."

The mouse turned to the pig and told him, "There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!" The pig sympathized, but said, "I am so very sorry, Mr. Mouse, but there is nothing I can do about it but pray. Be assured you are in my prayers."

The mouse turned to the cow and said, "There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!" The cow said, "Wow, Mr. Mouse. I'm sorry for you, but it's no skin off my nose."

So, the mouse returned to the house, head down and dejected, to face the farmer's mousetrap
. . . alone.. .. .

That very night a sound was heard throughout the house -- the sound of a mousetrap catching its prey.

The farmer's wife rushed to see what was caught.
In the darkness, she did not see it. It was a venomous snake whose tail was caught in the trap.

The snake bit the farmer's wife. The farmer rushed her to the hospital. When she returned home she still had a fever. Everyone knows you treat a fever with fresh chicken soup. So the farmer took his hatchet to the farmyard for the soup's main ingredient:

But his wife's sickness continued. Friends and neighbors came to sit with her around the clock. To feed them, the farmer butchered the pig.

But, alas, the farmer's wife did not get well...she died.

So many people came for her funeral that the farmer had the cow slaughtered to provide enough meat for all of them for the funeral luncheon.

And the mouse looked upon it all from his crack in the wall with great sadness.
So, the next time you hear someone is facing a problem and you think it doesn't concern you, remember ---

When one of us is threatened, we are all at risk.
We are all involved in this journey called life.
We must keep an eye out for one another and make an extra effort to encourage one another.

The new tractor worked like a dream for only 4 rolls of hay today. I'll give it a harder workout tomorrow, and start moving the remaining 55 rolls that I purchased. It's getting to be a pain moving that hay. The first Mahindra tractor committed suicide on the way home with the first load, and the second Mahindra tractor committed suicide right after hauling the second load. We'll see if the third Mahindra tractor can survive hauling the third and fourth loads. There are 8 more loads to haul altogether. The loads aren't all that heavy, easily within the capabilities and ratings for these tractors. If I tried, I could move all the hay in 5 trips, but that would be overloading the hay hauler and risking a blowout. I'll risk that heavy a load for a very short trip, but not 5 miles of steep hills and sharp turns on narrow roads.

Hi everyone, sorry about the quick getaway yesterday! I started the post earlier, but got caught up in last minute everythings, and just as I was leaving, I saw that I hadn't finished my post, so quickly did then sent :)
Well, the debriefing...The cake got there fine thankfully, I have never driven so gently off the mountain! I had the car aircon on full as it was a very hot day, and one of the components of the cake was a chocolate ganaghe layer, by the time it got to cutting the cake, it was a melted layer :( But it still tasted lovely :)
The day went off without a hitch. Chloe and Trent had a great day, and she looked so beautiful. She changed what she was going to wear at the last minute, originally she was going to wear satin shorts and a top, but the day before she bought a lovely white lace dress and she looked a picture ♥
The day was catered with wait staff so it was all very relaxing for Trent's mother and me. Trent's folks hosted the party st their house which was very generous and sweet of them.
My mob all got there quite early, so we managed to purloin the coolest area on the deck, under the shade of trees near the pool. That was lovely too, at one stage my sisters and some of our kids sat with our legs dangling in the water, so lovely.
We did the speeches, as brief as it was, around 6pm (after a 3pm start) as some of my family had to leave early. Beforehand we all ummed and aahed about who was going to do what, so when the time came I fronted up and welcomed and thanked everyone and said a little soppy thing that got eyes glistening :') Trent and Chloe then responded and then Trent's mother said a few words that became extremely brief when she got very emotional, all in all a lovely set of heartfelt speeches. They cut the cake, some magical photos were taken, and the party resumed.
We left not much after that, Scott is not much of a partyer, so I make it easy for him by saying I'm ready to leave.
And so that, as they say, is that. The weather was stonkingly hot, but we all muddled through and had a lovely time ♥

Yes, yes...I will try my very hardest to get some photos up soon...

RIP Stella's mum.

She is in good company... most of us seem to have lost our mum / a parent over the last few years. It makes me realise how long we have all been supporting each other.. [over 4 years when my mum died, my MIL more recently and brother just 12 months ago]

Love & hugs to everyone. BFN

Hi all. Just back from a crazy day. Saturday morning school and then straight to the ball field. Dylan's team lost, by a lot, but it was only a scrimmage. It does not count and it gave the kids a chance to make mistakes and learn from them. After that went to buy stuff to feed the beasties for the week. Came home, made a quick dinner and then went to buy Dylan a new bat. He had a gift card from his birthday but waited until closer to the start of the season.
