Take a sprinkling of fairy dust,
An angel's single feather,
Also a dash of love and care,
Then mix them both together.
Add a sentiment or two,
A thoughtful wish or line,
A touch of stardust, a sunshine ray...
It's a recipe, for a Baby Girl truly fine.

Just had something nice happen. I was walking Harley with hubby and we saw a truck from our cable. Guy in the front seat said hi and joking I said "you're the reason I just lost phone/internet/cable." He asked if I did and I said yes, for a minute but it is all back. He told us that the neighborhood is having problems. I happened to mention that all 4 remotes we have a broken and he gave us 4 new ones, no questions asked. He said these are a little stronger and should hold up better.

Suzy, at least she was in the hospital and not at home. That has happened to a few people.

Hello all,

Seems like I have missed a lot of stuff and I don't think I'll ever get caught up. Seems congrats are in order for Dana and Suzy. You rock, Granny!!!!

Happy Birthday Brenda - I hope you get spoiled rotten.

I have been ill for about a week with some type of virus. Headache, dizzyness, nauseous, hallucinating, and on and on and on. I didn't even have any coffee ... none at all! I feel a bit better today, but not much. It has been over a week since I have even wanted to look at the computer.

My x-rays of my arm showed it's probably just degeneration which normally occurs as we age. If it's this bad at my age, I hate to think what the "golden years" will bring.

I hope to be back later. Hugs to all, but extra gentle hugs for Nathalia.

Good morning all - slept in this am and have had numerous phone calls etc - just getting here now.
Firstly Happy 2-day birthday to Brenda - hope you enjoy your birthday and your dinner on the day you have it. I often share my birthday with my son, he is 2 days after me.
Tricia - that facility sounds nice, especially the friendliness of the others - I can think of nothing worse than living so close to people who don't want to know you.
Theresa - that sounds like an awful virus, I hope you feel better soon.

Suzy - I'm so glad it's all over and that Natahlia (I think yesterday I spelt it Nathalia, sorry) is finally here safely. And I'm pleased you had the opportunity to be present at the birth - apart from when I was the star performer having my own kids, I have never assisted at a birth although I saw the oldest 4 of my grandies within minutes of birth - Chloe was born at 11.30pm so I didn't see her until the next morning.
I wish Natahlia a long, happy and fulfilling life and I hope that this next phase in your relationship with Dana, now that she is a mother, is calmer, happier and most of all closer. Big hugs and love to your whole family. BTW how are Grandpa and Aunty Alie?

I just went over to FB and the first post I saw was from a friend saying her daughter Natasha who is 5 days overdue has gone into labour - she is also having a girl, to be called Isabella, and is only about a year older than Dana. I've known Tash since she was born. So, now to wait again for news.

Suzy, I am glad you were with Dana. When I was in labor with Mitchell, my mom came to the hospital and ran out of my room during the first contraction. She could not bear to see me in pain. She came back when I had the epidural. I ended up having a c-section. The nurse brought him into my room a little while later and she was the only one with me. I got to hold him and then pass him to grandma.

I was taking a nice long nap (I fell asleep at the computer) and was awoken by a sudden thunderstorm/hailstorm. Of course, IH walked by and said that he just saw one of my truck windows open. I asked him why he didn't close it, and he said nothing. So I had to grab a raincoat and rush out there to close the window. The passenger seat was covered with hailstones (pea size).

My niece, Rachel, will be going to Southern California for her MS "liberation" treatment. There is only a 2 week waiting time - she is only waiting for her passport to arrive. Please keep her in your thoughts and hope that the treatment is successful. If not, it is only a matter of time before she can no longer walk. She already requires a walker. She is 9 months older than my daughter.

Rolanda - going to see the funeral people, I'm hoping that you had 'the' discussion with your Mum over what she wanted. It makes it easier, not that anything will be easy in the coming days. Know that we are here thinking of you, sending cyber-hugs and wanting to help if we can at all.

I'm home again. For now at least. Dana has severe chest pains that can make it difficult for her to breathe. They suspect it is muscular (from labour/birth) but as she has a bad head cold they took chest xrays this afternoon just in case... probably won't know until tomorrow.

Rolanda, I was so sorry to hear about your mother. So much of your time has been spent either with her, organising something for her, or worrying about her that I'm sure you will feel a little empty for a long time. I hope that time eases the feeling and I hope the cyber thoughts and wishes do too.

Theresa, I don't think I would have been happy to get the news you did about your arm. Were they able to suggest something that could help you at least?

Cyn, thank you!

Brenda, I hope you have a wonderful birthday! By my calculations you should either still be asleep or waiting for your breakfast in bed. I hope they spoil you rotten!!

Good Evening, Fellow Sudokuaholics!

Suzy, don't worry about getting lots of tiny clothes. I'm sure that baby will grow like a weed and soon outgrow the smallest sizes.

June, so sorry I promoted you to president. (In our woodworking club, officers have a 2-year term. Usually, that means after 2 years as a vice-president, the person "looks forward to" 2 years as president.)

Happy Birthday, Brenda! I hope you have a wonderful day and something to celebrate with! Enjoy the combined celebration next week with your son!

Tricia, I hope the doctor appointment went well! I'm so glad the couple allowed you to really see what the retirement apartments had to offer! It sounds WONDERFUL! It certainly has much to offer! Maybe the couple had to wait a year because an apartment for a couple is a little larger and there are fewer of them?

Heidi, you seem to do very well with predicting your calves! Congrats on the newest arrivals!

Suzy, the baby's birth went amazingly quickly! Thank you for sharing that with us! I wasn't able to attend the births of our 3 grandies. Maybe with our other D moving here, there will eventually be more grandies arriving - and closer to us.

Thoughts and wishes to Theresa's niece. I hope the treatment works! I remember going to Disneyland with hubby's niece and cutting ahead in line because she has MS and we got to cut with her. I remember thinking that I'd trade with the people waiting in line in a second. I haven't seen her in over 10 years and she never tells us how she is doing.

Julie, I hope you get to be near very new grandies! It is special!

Tami, I was the opposite to your mum.. I couldn't bear to leave her while she was in pain. Itching to get back there now. They sent me home because it was a 'false' labour. I knew they were wrong, but you can't argue with people who know better than you so I left after extracting promises from both them and Dana that they would call if anything changed/if she needed me... I wasn't home long. It felt like a VERY long time.

Rolanda, sending you all the cyber love that we can. A very hard time for you and your family. Your Mother is now at peace and found her own way of not having to go to the care facility.

Theresa, hope you are soon feeling better.

Tonight we had to drive our neighbour to the hospital as her husband is very ill so please excuse me if I have not answered your posts.

Tomorrow I have a full day of bowls in a competition at another club and it is going to be hot. Why did I let someone talk me in to it!!!
