Today I'm going voting (early because I hate having to line up and face the gauntlet of the pamphlet pushers), visiting a colour consultant and just generally running around. The colour consultant is for our new church building not home unfortunately.

Hubby has started destroying our ensuite. The shower tray cracked and was leaking so he has removed it only to discover wood rot in the wall. It looks like a big job. Luckily we have our own carpenter to help. I can see all the tiles will need to be replaced so we'll probably end up with a new vanity as well.

On Sunday I'm going out to high tea to celebrate my niece's 25th birthday. She will pick up Mum in the morning and take her shopping and then bring her to Brissie for the high tea. I'll take Mum home afterwards. Have I told you how much I love my niece?

Howdy all. I now have a permanently installed sink, mixer tap and surrounding benchtop :)
Hubby is a SuperBloke in my eyes ♥

What's left to do? Finish the cabinetry under the sink and fashion new door and drawer fronts from the previous doors we removed. All existing doors will need some reburb as they have warped to a degree, but hubby says he can do that. Then everything needs a darn good sugar soaping ready for painting...it's getting nearer the end, I can feel it in my waters!

Heidi, I concur, get someone in to spread the fertilizer next time! I'm glad they still had the cancellation vacancy available for you, hope this one's a shocker.

Vicki, I love your niece too, what a wonderful gal. Hope she enjoys her high tea, sounds great.

Forgot to mention, the kitchen is on hold again, hubby will be spending the next three days at the Grand Prix with our son, rev heads the pair of them. Both son's gf and I went with them last year, and while it was fun, neither of us were overly keen to go again, so this year it's just the boys. I don't envy them, it is supposed to be drizzly all day, and not a particularly nice weekend weatherwise.

I was wondering if you were going again this year Gail. I'll probably watch some of it on the TV. Hope Scott and Son enjoy themselves.

Greetings friends, I did not sleep too well oast night either, is this catching? Today sister and BIL came down, we sorted, priced, and tossed again. he made a trip to the dump, and had vehicle trouble on the way home, we had to go rescue him, by providing transportation from where he ws parked to the nearest automotive parts store. he got what he neded, tried to hire it done, but had to do it himself in the end. I am glad he had sisters purse and cell phone in his vehicle so he could call us, i do not think he knows my number.

All three of us are kind of tired tonight. they wer e much later leaving for home than usual. We hope to have the first of the 2 yard sales in 3 or 4 weeks.

heidi, I am glad you have an earlier appointment at pain clinic. hope this will be a bad one and last and last and last. I cannot believe you got bogged down again, so glad you were able to drive the tractor out. Congrats on bully calf #20.

Gail, do you have plans for the weekend that Scott is away?

Victoria, do hope you enjoy your high tea. Can you describe a high tea to us topsiders who are not in the know?

Forgot what I read last page and if i try going back, I know I will loose this post. I did read, thought about you, but with medication and super tired, my brain is just not functioning at 100%.

I need to eat my dinner now, and hope i can stay awake till bedtime tonight. Hugs for each of you, with extras. Maybe later???

As soon as I posted after coming in from my self imposed ordeal, the sky opened up with a vengeance. I don't think there was a tornado, just straight line winds, thunder and lightning, and a downpour like a deluge. I'm SO glad that I got the fertilizer spread beforehand. It'll really do a lot of good.

They're calling for thunderstorms for the next few days, too. It'll probably take weeks before the ground is dry enough to take that heavy a load across it again.

We emptied the Fridge.. so much out of date (years) stuff in there.
Looked at the Pantry and quickly shut the door.. you do not want to know!!
We left not long after that, and went to the Bank, and did paperwork to close off Mum's accounts.
It was a very much a 'run around with Mum day' yesterday morning.
We do hope Mum was not listening to us, as we complained about her 'house'!

Hi, Everyone!

Cyn, your trip sounds wonderful, including the stay that you felt was too far from civilization.

Tami, I hope breakfast/brunch/lunch with your cousins was tasty! Did the beasties go with you - or stay at home.

June, thanks for explaining a bit about bowls. I hope you had a great time in the city!

Heidi, some good news - being able to go in for your epidural a bit early, success in finishing the fertilizing, birth of another bull calf. I think you've made a good decision that next time you'll pay someone else to do the fertilizing!

Bean, it's good to see you posting. So sorry to hear you had a health scare last week. That is not what we look forward to. Sounds like the thyroid thing is common here. (I had a partial removal 40 years ago and have regular checks to monitor its functioning (or lack of functioning) to determine dose of medication needed.

Hi, Vicki! It's good to hear that the 5K walk went well and you recovered! Sorry that a certain dog tracked mud on the new quilt! Wishing your hubby better luck with any fish replacements he may buy.

Great TOPP, Vicky! Your niece sounds terrific! Good luck with the ensuite renovation!

Gail, your reno looks great! You and Scott are doing a great job! I hope he enjoys his days off and watching the Grand Prix with your son.

MizT, I hope you sleep better tonight! You (and various assistants) have done a great job of sorting/pitching/pricing, etc. I hope the yard sales will go well when you have them!

Heidi, your timing for doing the fertilizing was impeccable. I'm SO glad you were able to get it done before the rain arrived!

Rolanda, I understand how difficult it can be to go through a house. We did it about 5 years ago. It had been the family home for about 50 years. Because we live about 2.5 hours away, we would get an early start on Saturday and spend the weekend going through things. Three of the six of us "children" bore the brunt of it. Oldest brother went without telling the rest of us of his plans and before we could get there so he could get what he wanted. He was not to be seen again while we worked on the house. Working only weekends, it took a couple of months. I hope it will go more quickly for you!

Broni, it's good to see you. Sounds like you've been very busy and have lots more to do! Remember to pace yourself!

It's time to head to bed. Please share these , positive thoughts, healing vibes, prayers and {{{{{HUGS}}}}}! Good Night!

Tricia, I'll give you the UK definition of a high tea it will probably be very similar to the down under one, if not I'm sure I will be corrected.
High tea is full of yummy fattening things Normally a selection of sandwiches, jam and cream scones and of course cakes, oh and of course a pot of tea to go with it.

A lovely day in the city. First to sort out our finances which are doing OK them met my sister to go to the Picasso exhibition at the Art Gallery. It was much more expansive (10 rooms)than I had thought with works ranging from 1900 till just before he died (1973) It did give me a different perspective of his work. A very warm sunny day in the city but lovely walking through the park and the harbour looked lovely with two cruise liners in port.

Evening all,
Nothing much to report here. Mum is home and spending a lot of time in bed. At least it is her own bed for now...

Natahlia is being a baby, crying, sleeping, eating, p00ping, crying, crying, cryng... eating, eating, eating, p00ping, p00ping, crying... etc She looked very cute today in a cute little princess outfit.

The cat is stealing the dogs' beds, which is very inconsiderate of him since there is a nasty storm at the moment and he is allowed inside and they aren't..

There is a horrible smell in the house, I suspect a dead animal courtesy of the naughty cat but I can't find it..

Gail, the kitchen will look spectacular but will give you a real problem. You will be expected to produce lots of sensational meals.
Tricia, clearing up with thoughts of moving is hard enough but you have a lot of emotional things to deal with as well. So pleased you have good family to help with the task.
Bean, do hope you get your medical problems sorted.
Heidi, rest well, you deserve it. How nice to be able to get the epidural a bit earlier. The rain will certainly wash in the fertilizer.
Rolanda, you have a hard job ahead of you. I know what it was like with my Mum but then it was in gigantic proportions. (former 10 bedroom guest house, farm and farm machinery, cattle, 70 years of family owning the property etc)

June, I'd love to go to that exhibition but the timing really sucks. I'm glad you had a good time though.

Tricia, I'm so glad you are not having to do the sorting alone!

Rolanda, ditto. Both of you are doing a really tough job right now.

June, we had a really hot and humid day here but now it is pouring rain..

Suzy, does your Mum have anyone with her? It must be hard with having her so far away. Natahlia sounds cute, like most babies.
Very hot and humid here so I might hop into bed with the AC. Our rain is expected later. Hubby is out watching a baseball game. A team he used to coach a few years ago. Tomorrow he has to present an U/14 trophy to the winners of a district league that is named in his honour.

Greetings friends. I am up for intermission and to take my "on a really empty stomach, do not even think about food" medication. Have to sit till it is truly down and no back up to the esophagus when I lie down again. gives me a lovely time to check in with my cyber friends (smile)

I managed once again without AC. Over night the house has continued to cool, so with my fan, it was comfy to snuggle under my blanket. Al could not understand my need to be cool enough in the room that I could snuggle under blanket, but that blanket does something for my fibro, very theraputic. Before I found this, I always had cold spots on my body. Feet stayed cold 7 months of the year! Large areas of upper thighs, buttocks were like ice. This blanket somehow holds in any heat my body makes, till I am "up to body temperature" in all areas. I sleep better, and ache less. works better, somehow, conserving my own body heat instead of trying electric blankets, heating pads, rice socks to add outside heat to those areas. Probably more than you need to know, but did I say that I like my blankey??

heidi, how lucky for you the fertilizer was all out before the rain. Are your pastures greening up now? I noticed the lovely green pastures on my trip to rescue BIL yesterday. New grass just has a different color, so fresh and clean looking. I wondered about your pastures as we drove past.

June, the exhibition sounds lovely, I am glad you enjoyed it and learned something new. We do not grow old till we stop exploring and learning, I think that is your secret.

Suzy, wishing N would do somewhat less of the crying part of being a baby. It would hurt me so when my daughter cried and cried with colic. AND years later, it hurt again knowing her colic was totally caused by what I was eating! No help with nursing back then, if there were problems, put babe on the formula. Even after I gave up breast feeding, took several tries to find a formula that did not cause colic.

june, Gail seems to already do spectacular meals. I can tell from the menu posting she did.

Someone mentioned sorting and packing. I am not packing anything yet, with NO idea when or if I will be moving. Just thinning out, removing things I do not need now. doing the fly Lady fling. It will make packing later much easier.

GAIL, have missed reading your menus, they inspired me to cook a few new things.

Ok, once again, I did not comment on all i read, but I need to get me back in bed, legs and buttoks were cozy warm when i sat down, cooling down fast appriching chilled. I will cuddle under my blankey and dream of you.

speaking of dreams, as I awoke a bit ago, I heard loud breathing. Kept trying to decide if I were dreaming, or if there was someone in room with me, and that was a scary thought. Well it was not dream, sort of someTHING in room with me. cat was snoring, hehehe.

Hugs to each of you, with extras. till later.

Morning all. Coffee is ready, help yourself.

Suzy, sounds like Natahlia is doing everything she is supposed to do.

Tricia, glad the blanket helps you. I like be under a blanket. My grandmother could not understand how it could be 90 degrees outside and I would have the blanket almost over my face

Heidi, hope you are feeling better soon.

Gail, the kitchen is looking nice. Thanks for posting pictures. Can't wait to see the final version.

Brenda, thanks for the definition of high tea. I was also curious.

Broni, hope the rain holds off so you can paint the boat.

Julie, thanks for the summary. It is always handy to reread and catch up on what I missed.

I hope I didn't miss saying hello to any of my friends. If I did miss anyone, it was not intentional.

Tami, neither can I!

Tricia, thank you for that input, maybe I will start posting them again, once everything is back to routine here. Hubby and I have started a new menu system, but because of the kitchen disruptions, there is no way of telling whether it will really be successful for not. We now go through our mags monthly (pertaining to the current month), it gives us meals appropriate to the season and what is available fresh. It gets narrowed down to fortnightly, but only done once a month...so far March is totally askew!

Meals are always gourmet from my kitchen...

Whether I want a covering at night or not, I always have a collie covering. Timmy, in particular, has to sleep on my legs. Several others (Angel, Cindy, Missy, Molly, Willow and Patch) trade off draping themselves over the rest of me.
