Do you have any idea how many things in your house have batteries, rechargeable batteries, that can go beep beep when the battery gets low? I am a bit more aware this morning, cause one of them was going beep beep and I could not find it! If I do not hear it again in the next 2 minutes, then I might have the correct one. Seems cat dislodged a portable phone from it's cradle, the phone that goes to the magic jack phone that Al used for business long distance calls. It was not recharging itself. I used it occasionally, till I got my cell that works at home, never think of it now. That beep beep can be annoying, it kept me from going back to sleep after my 'empty stomach' medication this morning.

Yesterday continued a bad day. Meds would wear off, pain would soar, and it would take far to long for the stuff to start working again. Not so bad when I woke this morning, hope that means today will be tolerable.

boy I am batting 1000 on double letter misspellings this morning. EVERY typo has been that, either putting doubles where not needed or more often, leaving them out. Oh well, if that is the worse my brain is doing today I will be fine.

Broni, glad the move-in was accomplished, hope it works out well for both of you. ILately I have been thinking about a roommate, or a long term house guest or something, it gets boring, lonely here alone. Now if I can ever get moved, I will have 140 other people in the building, can meet up with someone in the public areas for a chat, some human interaction, but still maintain my privacy for days like yesterday, when I am a grouch. thanks for the hugs, I need them today.

OH, I put the last of the asked for documents into the mail yesterday. Hope that is all Linda needs, and I hear something back soon. PLEASE cross fingers that I get on the short list, that they need to balance their quota, and I can move sooner.

Rolanda, sad that you did not win the lottery. that was a right nice chunk of change. I could have managed nicely with a windfall like that, if i was careful. What is happening with the new house? anything going UP above the slab yet??

TAMI, thanks for the coffee, mine seems to be taking overlong to brew today. congrats to your nephew and family on the birth of the bouncing baby boy. My girls were in the seven pound range, so he does not seem small to me.

SUZY, good that you cleared that misconseption with the math teacher. Hope that makes things easier for Allie now.

JULIE, would you believe the weather, the storms, separated into 2 lines, not one, and missed us entirely. We got some high winds for about 20 minutes, heard a bit of thunder in the distance, it was dark with heavy clouds, but not a drop of rain.

Heidi, just wondering, who makes Gil's travel arrangements, books his airline tickets, arranges lodging? Somehow I do not see him taking care of that himself, and obviously you do not do it or you would know his plans. How is the leg today? Hope it is better,

OOOPS, rambled far too long, here is the remainder.

Heidi, just wondering, who makes Gil's travel arrangements, books his airline tickets, arranges lodging? Somehow I do not see him taking care of that himself, and obviously you do not do it or you would know his plans. How is the leg today? Hope it is better, but with just enough discomfort so you know you really need to keep that appointment. I know in a situation like that, I feel so silly, saying, well it WAS hurting.

OK, I have rambled enough, that is all i can remember. If I forgot to mention you, it is the meds fault, honest! Hugs to each of you, with extras, till later.

I know what you mean MizT. I prefer to have it hurting when I see the doctor, too. I don't like to whine..."It WAS hurting here".

The leg is staying at a lower level of pain, as long as I don't touch the area. One of the old ladies here decided to be sympathetic and lick the sore area to try to make it feel better. I appreciated the thought, but it really smarted.

I hope everything works out well with your couz' moving in, Broni. There are many pros and cons to arrangements like that. I hope the pros outweigh the cons big time.

Fortunately I know what Collies and Shelties are like for licking hurties. Pip has now started licking feet, especially Richard's. Today I had to chase him around the house rescuing dirty underwear he had stolen from the pile I had on the floor ready to go into the enihcam.

Morning all,
Theresa, I will be thinking of you and hope it works out. Big ears still here! Hopefully having had this fright your husband will take it seriously enough to put some effort in. For some reason I'm reminded of a story and think he should carry you to the front door for a month...

I have 2 strawberries on a plant from mum's house. I hope they turn out nice! Whenever I've tried in the past the strawberries have been all mooshy and horrible.

Brenda, thank you for my morning smile! I can imagine that happening...

MizT, everything crossed that you are on the short list!! It sounds like it will be wonderful when you get in there...

I planted 8 strawberry plants in my raised bed 5 years ago. I do nothing to them except occasional weeding. They produce 2 to 4 dozen strawberries a day from a month after the final freeze in spring until the first freeze in fall. I planted them in a bed that's a 50/50 mix of local clay soil and composted horse manure. I let nature do most of the watering unless it gets REALLY dry. They don't like a lot of watering, tho. My bed has great drainage.

I'm off in a few minutes to our local Cattlemen's meeting. The Vet is giving a talk, and he's always funny.

An order is in for more flowers and maybe a lesson to show the kids how to do it. Alie told me that apart from the ones I made they had 3 artificial flowers - and we sent 2 of those in!! Since they have to fill a flower shop, that isn't going to work...

Strawberry sandwiches sound like they're something like strawberry shortcake, but without the whipped cream, and with bread instead of cake. It doesn't sound nuts to me. Hmmmmm... now I'm thinking of southern style biscuits with strawberries and cream. I'd better stop this.

Mushnik's Flower Shop didn't have many flowers in the beginning, but as they get more successful, they had more and more flowers in the shop. Bt the end, the Flower Shop is supposed to be thick with flowers.

Heidi, I do think strawberry shortcake was made in the south with home made, very rich (lots of real butter) biscuits. I have a recipe in an old recipe book that has even older recipes. One day I will have to look it up. do you ever save up strawberries till you have enough for making jam? I love strawberry jam, and eat strawberry jam sandwiches, so I think a fresh strawberry sandwich would be good. Theresa, Do you put anything on the bread? I think perhaps cream cheese would be good.

I am also glad you and hubby talked. I hope it works out for you, and you can find a way to be happy.

I had to make a trip to walmart today, needed a phone card. My phone is a buy as you go, no contract kind of thing. I could put it on automatic renewal, or I could renew it using my debit card online, but then my information would be in the walmart database. If you were a hacker, would you go after a little mom and pop store, or go for the gold, walmart and millions of card numbers? I try to keep my information off other peoples servers. Had information that is stored at my BANK hacked, twice, so once bitten, twice shy.

Today Teresa, oldest daughter, said she would like to come down when I move and help, probably after I move in instead of before. Take me shopping for some of the things I need, even offered to buy me a new sofa, yeah! I need the assistance shopping probably more than the
pay for me, but if she wants to gift me a sofa, I am all for it! Help me get everything organized, will get it done much faster with help.

OK, I need to find dinner. such tough choices, do I have ham, or salmon patties, or cook something from the ground meat?? I think salmon wins for tonight. AND Heidi is not alone with strawberries, I have a bowl of them, red and juicy, for my desert (dessert?)

Hugs, till later.

There was a bakery near where I grew up that had the best strawberry shortcake. That is what I wanted for my birthday cake. If they knew it was a birthday cake, the would frost the top flat (instead of fancy) so they could write on it. I wish I could get one now, but the bakery closed years ago.

Back from the meeting -

My idea of the perfect cake is a sour cream Angel food cake, covered in whipped cream instead of frosting, and with a LOT of fresh and frozen strawberries all over it. Mmmmmmmm.

Gail, pleased your results turned out well.
Yes Sunday, Mother's Day, will be a first for me too - there's a few of us facing that. I've shed a few tears since I saw the first sign of it in shops.

Oh my is it ever bucketing down and no end on sight on radar. the storm is stationary and just building. Unusual to do that at night, that is usually dependent on the heat of the day. . Was about to say without thunder, but Mother Nature just supplied some. Best get off the puter,

It sounds as if we are being blasted with a fire hose, lot of rain noise.
