IH strikes again!!!

The surgeon wanted to do the surgery on Monday (4 days from now), but while scheduling it, they discovered that IH hadn't paid the health insurance again and it was cancelled. So I have to get him on the phone (he left for the plant for 2 days while I was at the surgeon's... he only got home at 1 am this morning) and he has to get it paid and reinstated before we can schedule surgery.

I spoke to Michella this afternoon. Mama is doing well but they had to move her. A bed came available at their first choice place at the last minute so she only had to move once. She is getting more energy everyday and can talk a little.

Hi all. Had a good day at work. I don't have to go tomorrow. I get to go to Disney World instead. Dylan and I are going to Animal Kingdom for his end of year field trip. I get to chaperone. Dylan got his cast off today so he is a happy camper. My mom took him to the doctor. She called me so I could speak to him. I asked if there were any rides he shouldn't go on and he replied, "he should not ride a rhinoceros."

Greetings friends, another bad day, but at least it is better now. this is day 5 of a flare, that is ENOUGH! I want more than sitting here wishing my life away, waiting for time for more meds, hoping the next ones will be the one to break the flare.

Joy has started packing, she should be moving by end of the month.

I have not heard anything from EP yet, wish they could do a "you are on the list" notification, at least. Hopefully soon.

I think I will try to finish my book fore bedtime, not much left and although meds have reduced pain, I am not that sleepy. I did sleep a lot of today.

Hugs to each of you, with extras, till later.

Unpleasant surprise this evening. I was making myself a nice roast beef au jus sandwich, using fresh french bread, and in the door walks IH. He SAID that he was gonna be gone overnight. So I lit into him again about the insurance.

Hi, Everyone! Just popping in for a quick glance. I REALLY need to get to bed soon, as the next 2 days are early wake-ups.

Suzy, I hope Alie doesn't feel singled out by the math teacher! Good for you and the students who made enough flowers that you needed more materials. Every little bit helps. (How soon are they needed?)

CynB, we'll be thinking of you next Thursday for your squishy thing! And better yet, we will virtually join you for your retail therapy! {{{HUGS}}} to you tomorrow when you go to the cemetery.

Tami, I hope Dylan gets his cast off and hope he and Mitchell enjoy their lunch with Bobbie and Bernie! I'll be thinking of you tomorrow. Thank goodness we don't need to be out of the house as early as you and Dylan will! I hope there are no problems like last year on the Disney trip. Have fun!

Heidi, I continue to be amazed by IH. How is that possible, you ask? His lack of awareness and understanding of what goes on in the world around him are amazing. You should make him go with you and watch the surgery when the "pin" is "popped" out. Then again, he'd probably pass out and be on the floor and still have no idea of what is involved. (Of course, the reason he has never had an injury is because he seems to always find a way to avoid the work that could cause it.)

Broni, I'm sure your house will soon be sorted out! It's just the interim as you get it all organized that will frustrate you! Good luck and hang in there - both at home and at work. We're thinking of you! {{{HUGS}}}

Heidi, I just turned the page and read IH's latest ineptitude. If only you could get his checkbook and get ALL recurring bills paid - or get them as automatic debits. And of course, these problems rarely seem to have any effect on him. {{{HUGS}}} for you having to deal with it! I hope the insurance will be reinstated quickly after the premium is paid!

Nola, I'm sorry I missed you, but glad to see you were here. Take care! {{{HUGS}}} for you and for Judy! I hope all goes well with her chem!

Suzy, I hope you get over the cold Natahlia shared with you quickly!

Tami, it sounds like the orthopedist has a good sense of humor! I hope you and Dylan have fun tomorrow at the Animal Kingdom!

MizT, thinking of you and hoping the flare will soon end! Take care of yourself. I also wish you would get some kind of confirmation of receipt of your paperwork. I wouldn't think it would be out of line to call mid-week next week as a follow-up to inquire if they have received everything you sent. Good luck to Joy with her packing!

Heidi, IH deserves hearing about the insurance again! He should know how crucial medical insurance is for you - even before your leg started acting up! (Hopefully there was only enough for ONE sandwich and IH had to fend for himself, which would be fair since he had told you he wouldn't be there.

If I hurry, I can be in bed by 12:30, so I'm "outta here." Feel free to share all of the prayers, posi

Afternoon all,
Trying not to breathe at the machine. I'm hoping this is a 24 hour thing.

I just had another argument with Dana. When she drives she argues with me when I correct her driving. That's what I'm there for!!! I've told her that until she acknowledges that it is my responsibility to correct her when she is wrong she is not driving me anywhere. She refuses to accept that and so hasn't driven her car since the day she bought it. Serves her right I think.

You are in the right about it Suzy. I have 'taught' three out of four of mine to drive, Jed accepted being told what was right and wrong, Chloe 'got' driving from the get go so there was no real problem there, Hannah hates driving so it doesn't happen...but Beth!!! OMG where do I start in describing the hell that was being in the car with Beth...
As I always told my kids, if I have had to say something eg re speed, closeness to other cars etc, then it is already too late, meaning I would give them the milliseconds to correct it then I would say something...SO DON'T GET ALL UP IN ARMS AT ME! Sorry...bad memories!

Hi all, home again and had a great time. A charge of $10 for internet connection so we did not connect. Weather was good, great friends and fun, and lots to see. I have washed all the 'whites' and put them out to dry. I will not enjoy cooking dinner tonight!
I have only glanced through this page. Seems you have to have an operation Heidi, i guess it is your leg. Hope the insurance is soon sorted and you get the go ahead. Getting colds from 'littlies' is a grandma hazard! Even worse when they start day care.
Lots to do, will catch up later.

I paid for the kids to have driving lessons and let Richard do any other practice they needed. Fortunately over here we do not have to clock up a number of miles before they can pass their driving test. Both Emily and Andrew have been passed their tests a few years now and I still haven't been driven by them. I am a bad passenger.

oh dear.. giggling here...
Learner drivers...
Lachies problem is he doesn't like driving [he's actually very good]... it isn't as much fun as flying a plane...

Forgotten almost everything that I've read.
Except...
Suzy.. that is an appalling excuse to put it off.. the presence of cysts is the very reason why you should book in ASAP!! They are definitely more susceptible to malignant changes..Which reminds me.. must make a phone call..

Tami I am in love with my Kindle... need to buy some batteries for the light so I can read in bed without having to turn the light out...how slack can one be..

I have just heard that Megan has had a scan and some tumours have shrunk but others have grown. They are giving her a 6 week break from chemo and then will start on a course of chemo in tablet form. She has had very bad reactions to the last two courses of chemo. This is good and bad news but so much better than just before xmas when we didn't think she would see 2012.

I will endeavour to fit out the 'bathroom' just in case.. it no longer has a basin or loo..just a hole in the wall..well .. a few holes..

Out of here...

Hi everyone. Gee, getting here twice in the 1 day is great.
Tami...excuse my ignorance in getting Dylan & Mitchell mixed up. So glad the cast is now off and bet Dylan is much happier.

Suzy..hope the cold from Bub ends up being just an overnight thing. I have gone to bed feeling terrible but next day when the day warms up,it is OK. If Dana wants to drive with you as the teacher, she needs to acknowledge that she has a lot to learn. Not all young people have a fear of how easy it is make a mistake with dire consequences. Many don't live to realize this.

Welcome home June.

Rolanda...bricks are a great sign of things to come.Hope there are no delays and weather is kind for an on schedule completion.

Brenda.. best wishes for a great outcome with Megan's chemo.

Greg will be home tomorrow from his brothers place in Townsville, after an almost 1 week visit while Greg wasn't working. He took the bike and had perfect weather for riding. When he rang from Rockhampton tonight, he had to go for a walk to get the circulation back in his b*m. Had to laugh.
I have been calling in to Judy everyday after work and each time she is just laying on the lounge.Don't know if I am helping by making cups of tea and light chit-chat or what to do. She might feel more positive after Brisbane.

My positive news. Looks like I might have permanent work when another EEN gets a promotion and I get her permanent shifts.
Wish me luck.

I better get my uniform ironed etc and see yopu next time I can. Take care all.

Good evening all - busy day today. All went well today and I feel better for having gone. Sometimes I feel that I need to make more acknowledgement of missing my parents than just in my thoughts. We put some lovely roses by their memorial and just chatted to them. It's so peaceful up there, despite the fact that just down the hill is the main motorway coming into the city from the South.
Afterwards a bit of retail therapy, coffee and cake - just the ticket.

Nola - I'm sure Judy appreciates your efforts. Hope all goes well with the chemo in Brisbane.
Broni - you seem to be so busy lately, enjoy your visit from Teresa.
June - welcome back, glad you had a good time.
Brenda - hope the good news completely outweighs the bad with Megan's treatment.
Suzy - sorry you've got a cold but as someone says, par for the course with grandies. I read on FB where Dana said Tahli was getting better. That's good.
Heidi - I hope he's got that insurance fixed up and the op gets rescheduled quickly. It's bad enough to be in pain, worse for the op to be delayed by that!
Suzy/Gail/Rolanda/Beanie - I was lucky I didn't have to teach either of mine to drive. In those days they didn't have to get up the hours. I helped pay for some lessons and Col gave them a few lessons.
Julie - you lead such a busy life. Do you ever get the chance to just sit down and put your feet up?
Tami - thanks for the update on Mama. Enjoy your day at Disney with the cast-free Dylan.
Oh Rolanda - bricks - woohoo!!
Big hugs and love to all who need them.

Julie, I do know they received the first set of papers, can't remember If I got e-mail after the second was received. I will look later when I can. good idea, thanks for the suggestion.

forgot what else I read, what i wanted to say, but i did think of each of you and had brilliant comments that just escaped from this brain. I blame pain meds. First pain meds today only took hour and 15 to do some good, boy that waiting to see if they will work makes for the longest minutes of the day!

Hugs to each of you, with extras. I'll be back when I am better company.

So much news to comment on that I feel overwhelmed.
Dana never changes, does she Suzy? Fortunately, she's only hurting herself by acting so childish about learning to drive. I'm just sorry that she feels the need to mouth off to you still.
I only had to teach one young man to drive. That was 5 years ago when I was helping him and his mother out of some serious legal problems and they had to live here for 6 months. The young man loved driving my truck so much that he was an ideal student.
Brenda... sorry about Megan. It has been miraculous that he's made it so long, and I was hoping that the miracle would continue. I really hope the doctors can beat this.
I wish the same for Judy, Nola. Congrats on the EEN position opening up. I REALLY hope you get it.

MizT... I find that pain meds work best if you don't let the previous one wear off before taking the next one. I take the next one when I start to feel the slightest increase of pain above the level I'm used to.

Heidi, Usually what you suggested works, have been taking the meds every 6 hours, as prescribed. I take them at 6 hours even though I am not hurting, cause if i wait till it starts, it is too late.

the problem is, many times I take the meds but it seems as if I have not taken them. they take an hour, or more to start working, then whammo, I am dizzy, light headed, pain is down, nose itches, yep, they started to work. Because they usually start working sometimes in the 6 hours till time for another, I am afraid to repeat the dose before 6 hours what if BOTH of them start working same time?? I will occasionally repeat at 4 hours, if meds still has not worked. That waiting for meds to work is the longest minuets of the day.

this morning, it took an hour and a half fore it worked. I do wish I knew why. any ideas welcomed.

Because of the mess-up of IH's, the insurance company cannot process this until next Monday, after the surgery was to have taken place. The surgeon's office doesn't want to take that risk, so the surgery has been put off until the following Monday (May 21st).
