Cyn, love the quote. There are ways to Disney World. We usually drive up and visit Downtown Disney for dinner and to start our experience. We have been to Hollywood Studios, but it is not our favorite. The other three parks are our favorites. We get the park hopper passes which allows you to start in one park and hop to another. We then find out which park opens the earliest and which is staying open latest. If you stay at a Disney resort, you can usually get in early. We take full advantage of every minute we can.

Happy Mother's Day everyone!!! Hope you are being spoiled!

Tami, I knew Disney World was physically bigger, I meant the atmosphere. If it was as good I think you would have known what I meant though.

Good Evening from Illinois! I hope everyone who celebrates Mother's Day at this time of year has had or will have a Happy Mother's Day!

Hooray for the "spontaneous" shrimp dinner from IH, Heidi! Wow, what a great year for bull calves! Do you keep cumulative records over the years? I was thinking it should eventually be closer to 50% bulls cumulatively, but wondered if that holds true.

Broni, how nice to have a relaxing and enjoyable day with Bella contentedly snoozing!

Cyn, what awful timing for the flu (not that ANY time is a good time to get the flu). I hope you'll soon be feeling better!

Bean, if learning to fly is Lachie's only vice, you have done well! I'm quite sure that is something my hubby would really have enjoyed when he was younger. I don't know if he would still feel the same about it now. (Come to think of it, I've never asked.)

Gail, it IS hard to have children move away! If you don't have Skype now, it is a perfect time to get it set up. At least there are ways to stay in touch now much better than even twenty years ago. It's not the same as having them nearby, but so much better than "back in the day" when letters were the only inexpensive way to stay in touch. Wishing Chloe and Trent well as they adjust to their move! At least it's for a good reason! {{{HUGS}}}

Rolanda, what a wonderful idea - a slab party! I hope it was a huge success.

June, I hope the family gathering at Belinda's went well! Thinking of you and sending {{{HUGS}}}!

Suzy, your family has had a hard transition in a short time. It's no wonder it has affected both you and your brother. Do you think he's suffering from lack of sleep, or do you think there may be some underlying medical issue?

Tami, what a relief that the field trip went so well! After last year, you certainly deserved it!

Suzy, I hope you will soon feel better and "fit as a fiddle."

Heidi, thanks for the education about hay! It doesn't seem that long ago that you fertilized. I've seen many farms where the round bales have been left in random spots in the field and others where the bales are lined up in a long "cylinder" along one edge of the field. When I was in high school (a million years ago), there were only the rectangular bales. Boys from the school who were on the wrestling team usually got jobs over the summer doing all that lifting and stacking. I seem to remember being told that a bale weighed 50 pounds or more. It's hard to imagine that ONE rolled bale equals 30 square bales!

MizT, I'm glad there was more for you at the food bank this month, though it would have been nice to get some fresh fruit and vegetables there! I hope you found some food kitty will eat.

Rena, thanks, and Happy Mother's Day to you! I hope all is well with you and your family!

Vicky, I hope the extended celebrations go well and are fun for all!

What an appropriate TOPP, CYN! Thanks!

Suzy, the atmosphere at any Disney park is exciting. I still get the same feeling walking into Magic Kingdom that I did when I was a kid. I went for the first time when I was 10 (only Magic Kingdom existed) and I remember the feeling of awe walking down main street. I still feel 10 when I go there.

Greetings friends. Today is a MUCH better day than this last week has been. Pain medication is actually working, it started working yesterday afternoon. I added Benadryl to the mix, would someone remind me to try that again next time I have such a flare? Not sure why it works, but oftentimes it helps. I get such fibrofog, just brain stuffed with cotton, I cannot think and i do not remember everything I might try. I did everything but Benadryl this week, until yesterday.

Daughters and BIL have checked in to tell me Happy Happy. Daughter #1 asked what I would like for Mother's Day, ON mothers day, oh well. We looked through my favorite clothing catalog online, I showed her some things I liked and the size, she ordered something. I will get a surprise but not a shock, as in something totally not to my taste hehehe. she even approved of some of the things I showed her that I liked hehehe. I do hope she gets this one knit jacket and matching tank top, can be worn many different ways, interesting how the neckline is made and can be changed she really liked it, so perhaps.

A 30 second rain here just upped the humidity and " feels like" temp, I am drenched with sweat. My AC compressor is not working, too, I think I remember it doing this before after a heavy rain, like we had last 2 days, water gets in bottom, hits fan, compressor does not come on till fan running evaporates the water. NO drain hole like AC of old, water might drip down and mess up the environment somehow. I hope that is all it is, do not need AC problems. If I were at EP I could call maintenance hehehe. Well, I have small AC here in BR, I can hibernate here and see if the other AC fan will blow out the water eventually.

Hugs to each of you, with extras.

I got really mad at hubby today. His car battery was acting funny. The third time I had to jumpstart his car I told him he better go to the mechanic. There is one nearby open on Sunday's. We used to use them but found someone we trust a lot more. He did not want to go. After arguing he finally stormed off and went. I called him a little while later and they were replacing the battery, at no cost. They looked up our history, realized that we are good customers, and that they had replaced this same battery several times. Not sure if it was battery or a connection that drained the battery but at least he won't have to walk to work tomorrow.

I really wish that I was having the surgery tomorrow instead of a week from tomorrow. This leg is bugging me. I know it's going to hurt worse right afterwards, but it will eventually improve. It will feel MUCH better in wintertime because that metal won't be there turning ice cold any more.

Hello everyone! Haven't said much lately, though I have read when I had a chance. Hugsto all who need them.
Spent a few days working on Mum's place, trying to get it ready to sell/let. The worst part is the long drive, then spending the night away from home ... still, it's starting to look a bit better. :)
Mother's Day, with visits from the kids. :)
Can't remember if I said D.3 has split up with her guy. :(
That's about it, I think - take care all of you. :)

Just had another soaking rain. Kitty girl got caught out in it somewhere, after it was over, she came in just drenched. Jumped up on my chair, meowing pitifully and shook herself like a dog! I tried drying her with a towel, it was not helping much, so took her to the vanity in the bath, scruffed her with one hand, and dried her with the hair dryer on low. She was good as long as she was scruffed, but after i turned off the dryer, she let me wrap her in a towel to keep the warm in, and cuddled in my arms. now she is on the computer tower, licking her paws and legs free of water. They did not get dry with the dryer, to easy to burn her there. What we do not do for our fur babies.

Hiall!

Heidi, is that your Sadie on Medium today? If so, she is beautiful!

It's another beautiful day in Brissie today but it was cooler this morning. I think we are having an early onset of winter.

Mother's day was quite nice until MIL had words with hubby on the phone last night. Fortunately the day had been quite nice. I think MIL is losing her faculties. The manager of the center rang hubby last week and said that if she continued to abuse his staff she would have to leave. Hubby is trying to sort out what the problem is but MIL insists she's done nothing wrong. She rang last night and got stuck into him about it and when she said "I don't give a stuff...." he dropped the phone onto the couch and eventually when she realised he wasn't answering he hung up.
We haven't heard back from her but the silence won't last.

The best thing I heard yesterday is that SIL and BIL will not be returning to China after July and hope to move MIL to Canberra when they return. I don't think it will happen but it makes me happy to know that they are coming home for good. At least someone in his family cares about us.

Evening all,
Feeling cruddy still, but managed to work the coffee van today - hope I didn't spread it! I was careful...

Tami, I was 24 the first time I went to Disneyland. Probably why my feeling is/was a little different to yours. I wasn't really excited so much as awed and happy. An instant mood adjustment! The little sign at the front about leaving the world of today was really appropriate!! That's really how it felt.

Only one time did I feel differently and it was a time when it looked like they'd reduced their caretaker budget and the gardens were looking a bit rough.

I missed the electric parade when it left. I think I remember hearing that you got it over your way, but am probably messing it up.

Suzy, I am not sure what parade is here now. I know we did have the Main Street Electrical Parade. We don't usually watch the parade. Parade time is when lines are shortest and we take advantage. I have a video of Mitchell, not quite 3 watching the parade. He walked out and would not leave Goofy. The parade actually stopped for a second until we could get Mitchell. I don't think they liked it but we got great video.

Evening all. It has been a long COLD day. Our Grade 3 Pennants team won the district competition (I was playing grade 4) and today was the zone play offs. I was asked to be a reserve. We were at the ground at 8.30 am and did not leave till 5pm. Today only reached 18*c with a very cold wind blowing. I did not play but sat on the side lines all day and felt frozen. Came home and put the heater on and have also been curled up on the recliner with a rug.
With all that the team did win and the next playoff will be in August for the state championship. One of our players is in France (with her son and his family for her 70th. birthday.). She will be back so I will not be needed as a reserve.

On Saturday Laura rang and said she wanted to tell me what she had bought me for Mother's Day (the school sell items to raise money for the school). I told her to keep it a secret but she said "it is a crystal". Then "crystal (the word) was in my mouth and it just had to get out"
Tonight she told me she "picked the one that had an angel in it because her Mummy is now an Angel and she knew I would like that one". Brought a tear to my eye.
We did have a good Mother's Day. Very emotional going to the cemetery. Flowers for my Nana, my Mother and Sharon. They are all there together.
Enjoyed the day at Belinda's place although it was very windy. Made it hard for the kiddies to ride the horses.

Meds must have kicked in nicely, cause when I was reading Julies post, I thought she was sending an ambulance hehehe, not abundance of positive thoughts. silly Tricia hehehe. Thanks, Julie and meds combo, I had a good chuckle over that.

TAMI, yes, I think each of us would have done the same thing for a soaked to the skin furbaby. That is just the kind of people we are, reason we all get along so well. Mitchell at the parade sure sounds cute, know that video is a treasure from his childhood.

ROLANDA, so sorry your shower was not even luke warm today. Hope the booster cures the problem. will you go back for a really warm one?

Victoria, so sorry that problems with MIL spoiled a perfect day for you. Perhaps there is some medical cause for her acting out as she does? Something that should be looked into and treated?

June, what a long cold day you had, I am sure just sitting made you feel the cold more. Moving around might have warmed the body some. I hope you are now warm and toasty. Hope the weather is warmer for your day of bowls.

YEAH TRICIA!!!! Yes I am shouting, I am that excited. I correctly diagnosed the AC problem, let the fan only run yesterday till a late bedtime, and this morning, the AC is working properly. Running the fan dried up the water that was keeping the compressor from coming on. Whew, I am so glad that is solved. It is cool again today, but we have really warm weather coming again by mid week.

Kitty girl has decided to eat again, and lets me know promptly if her bowl is empty. I had been putting only small amounts out, since she was refusing it. bowl was licked lean this morning. In fact, I am now certain that is what she was trying to tell me in the wee hours, when I was rudely awakened with a kitty nose in my face hehehe. I ignored her, bad mommie that i am on occasion. she RAN to bowl as soon as i got up this morning and sat patiently until I replenished her food supply. silly kitty.

I could not find my glasses this morning when I first woke. I always put them on bedside table, and the only time they are off other than for bed is for a shower. I did not shower fore bed last night, so they HAD to be on bedside table. then I remember the above, kitty in my face, means kitty was standing on bedside table. Yep, she had knocked them to floor, probably when I invited her to get down hehehe.

Another cool, damp and grey day. I wonder if we will have rain again today. Radar shows no rain currently, but forecast is for rOvercast skies this morning, then partly cloudy with a chance of rain. I have to go out today, BIL Roger is coming down to drive me for a repeat cat scan tomorrow, he will come today and spend the night in his camper trailer. So this afternoon, he is going to drive me to the county seat, Clanton, to try to get tag for my new to me vehicle. I am taking enough meds I do not need to be driving long distances, sometimes it leaves me a bit out of focus. I will take him out for lunch while he is here, for his birthday, it was yesterday.

More hugs if you want, till later.

Morning all.

I have been MIA again!!! I have been crocheting a granny square bed cover for MIL's bed at the care facility. I finished it in the car on the way down to visit her yesterday!!!! I must say it looks very attractive on her bed. She knows it took a lot of work and she was very appreciative.

I had not done any crafts for quite some time because of my shoulders, so I am amazed I could finish it. When the pain in my shoulders got so bad I couldn't continue, I would lie down for an hour or so and then get up and start again. It will be some time before I do that again. I had a box full of squares I had started way back when, so at least that part was done.

I will come back and read hopefully this evening. Hubby is home early and we have to get groceries. Pizza at D's for lunch because she was working on Mother's Day. TTFN.

Lousy day today. The leg hurts and I have a nasty headache/ borderline migraine. The only med that helps these is Excedrin Migraine. Which is off the market for another month. And I'm out of them. I need to go to town for dog food and I'm gonna see if I can find a decent substitute for Excedrin.
