Greetings friends, I am grouchy today and not fit company for anyone. there is a huge line of thunderstorms dropping in from the north, with a cold front (Meteorologically speaking, the temps will be cool, not be cold) behind it. therefore, I feel like a truck has hit, even taking my meds. I am groggy and hurting both, not fun.

The leg is starting to hurt again. And I'm feeling nauseous from pain meds, so I'm gonna minimize the need for them by staying off the leg as much as possible. I also need to keep food in the tummy to buffer the meds, but I'm trying to lose weight by eating less, so it's a no-win situation.

Oh. my. I like to listen to old-time radio shows while on the 'pooter, and they're giving me a real treat right now. The very first episode ever of "Superman" just started. It first aired Feb. 12th, 1940.

Back in!! I have no idea what is going on. My antivirus runs every day and I double checked it just in case. The cure seems to be to shut down for the night. I thought maybe clearing my cache, then I remembered the computer does that automatically every day too.

Oh well, I'm here now, and I am happy that you made the appointment too Heidi.

Hi all. I am now a great-aunt. Baby boy was born at 9:14 am weighing 6 lbs 15 oz and about 20 inches long. They are not naming him until next Monday at his Bris. The father (my nephew) is studying to be a Rabbi and is doing everything traditionally. For those who do not know, a Bris is when they cut off the foreskin. I cried harder than both my boys at their's.

By the way, I posted at 6:00 pm my time. Sudoku time is 14 hours ahead of me.

I have Chloe with me today. She's had the flu and wasn't very well last night before she went to bed but doesn't seem too bad, other than sniffly, this morning. So I've had a steady diet of kids TV (Nick Jr). Even though I can see that some of it is quite educational, I can only take so much of it.

Theresa, I'm thinking of you. I hope you try counselling.... 36 years is a long time to give up... but you will know what is best for you.

I loved our long weekend. The weather was perfect and we got some more of the ensuite done. There is just the tiling along the top of the vanity and then they can grout the walls and start re-installing everything. I'll be really happy when the loo is back in place. I hate the walk to the other end of the house in the dark.

Vicki - both our bathrooms need redoing, especially the ensuite but I can't face the thought of needing the loo in the middle of the night and having to go to the other one. How lazy am I - when I remember having to go to the outside loo when I was a kid.

Mariana from Utah is on FB and posts occasionally.
I miss the lurker though. She was funny and had everyone fooled for ages.

Tami, I just tried Control+h, which only took me to the top of this page. (I'm working on a Mac.) I don't know what I did to get a different page last night, and I haven't been able to replicate it.

Suzanne, I'm so glad you have been having some showings of your house. I hope a family will soon fall in love with it and want to buy it!

Tami, I'm still reading page 413, and hope your new niece or nephew has safely arrived!

Heidi, I'm glad to hear that your leg isn't causing lots of problems today - and also glad that you got an appointment this week. Yes, we're happy! You shouldn't have to deal with so much pain. Hooray for IH being gone for a couple of days! (So, he arranges going to a conference or whatever without telling you until he's ready to leave?)

You got it, Julie. he doesn't tell me that he's going anywhere until right before he leaves. In this case, he told me several days ago that he was going to be home all Monday and Tuesday, then Monday morning he announces that he has an afternoon flight... in a few hours. It would be interesting if he ever was completely honest with me. I might faint, though.

I didn't receive anything from Maryann either. I guess those of us who didn't can count our blessings.

MizT, I hope the weather passes by quickly and your meds start working so you feel better and get a good night's sleep!

We had dinner with neighbors tonight. The wife (probably at least 15 or 20 years younger than I am) asked if I have been achey lately (also due to weather here). She was complaining of lower back and hip pain. I told her I have that and knees. I've also been seeing some sciatica-like symptoms. Was it you, MizT, who commented that getting older isn't for the weak and wimpy?

Heidi, do you think some of the pain in your leg is weather-related too? I hope the pain doesn't increase between now and Thursday! Seems like a good plan to stay off it as much as possible and to eat something prior to pain meds!

Parent/Teacher interviews done and dusted. Better than last year, and I was able to explain why she had missed so many math classes. He thought it was music and now he knows it was mum he will be very helpful in the future, I hope.
