Morning. Less than 24 hours and I am on the plane heading to Cynthia's.

Tricia... I had worked out more or less what I am taking, and have been wearing what I am NOT taking in the last couple of days.
All items are clean.
All the clothes/items are on the Coffee Table, ready for me to pack into the open empty suitcase.

Did the last of the Grocery Shop yesterday..
Milk, Bread, 'microwave pkts of Veg', small amount of fresh veg and fruit, cereal..
In the freezer, there are 'homemade frozen meals' for Peter
(over the last 5/6 weeks, I have been serving an extra meal here and there, into a container, straight into the freezer..
There are about 9 of those, 2 mini quiches, container of soup....
enough there for the Week Nights when Peter comes home from work)
I bought a cooked chook yesterday. we had that last night for dinner, with veg.
and I served up a 3rd plate of chicken.. I will cook up some veg to go with it tonight ~ Peter's Dinner tomorrow evening.
and there was still some Chicken meat left, which I will dice and add to the Stirfry for Tonights Dinner.

Rolanda, sounds like you have everything well planned. Can't wait to here about the trip. It sounds like it will be fabulous.

Nola, good for you having a permanent position. I know that makes you happy and I hope it is in a place that you wanted to be.

Parent update. Their offer on condo was officially accepted today. If all goes as planned, their house will sell in mid July. They will rent it from the owner for a month. They should close on condo beginning of August, giving them two weeks to paint, clean carpet, etc. before moving in. I guess I will be having a busy summer.

Are you going to put Mitchell and Dylan to work on the condo, Tami? Three sets of hands are better than one.
I don't know why, but I assumed that because the house and condo sold so fast, the closing and moving parts would be sooner, too. ....... come to think of it, and it's not THAT far away.

I just indulged myself again. I just bought 2 pairs of Red Headed Parrot Finches from a breeder in California. They can be kept with my Forbes Parrot Finches with no problems.

Serenade's breeding didn't take, so they're trying again. She won't be shipped to me until she is confirmed pregnant. Mares cycle every 3 weeks.

Off to bed. I have a 9 am appointment with the ear specialist.

Hi, Everyone! It's past midnight, and I'm really behind schedule tonight.

Rolanda, I hope by now you are packed and ready to go!

Suzy, you can be assured that we read posts carefully. Your fiance comment drew a reaction from almost all of us. Then we all flew off to Mr. Google to find out about Ed Sheeran. Born in 1967, he is definitely a few years older than Alie. Well, maybe some day she'll meet him - or at least see him.

MizT, we're all glad to hear when the pain subsides a bit! What a great plan to take and use your TENS unit while at the doctor. Would be nice if a diagnosis could be made about your mouth - and nicer still if a remedy could be found!

Bean, glad you could stop in for a moment!

Theresa, how gruesome that body parts continue to show up. Hopefully there aren't multiple victims. I find it amazing that you need to wait until November for your appointment! This doctor must be GOOD! Great idea to go for a two-for-one! Stay out of the wild catnip, or it will be repairs to your legs.

Many congratulations to Dylan! Tami, you and your hubby must be SO proud of your boys! What a way to leave his elementary school! It's kind of cute that you have a student who has a crush on Mitchell.

MizT, I hope you don't need to wait as long for your bone scan and squishing of the female anatomy as Theresa needs to wait for her appointment! (My squishing was yesterday.)

Nola, what FANTASTIC news! We are so proud of you and your new permanent EEN position! Your persistence truly has paid off! Well done!

Theresa, thank you for the good chuckle!

Rolanda, you are certainly well organized! Peter is a lucky man to have so many meals prepared and ready to be nuked!

Tami, what fantastic news for your parents. It looks like things are well organized for them, as well! Yes, busy summer for Tami coming up! Will your young assistants also be helping out?

Heidi, I can't wait to see pictures of your new birds when you get them. (It's much too late for me to consult Mr. Google - just past 1:30. Hope your appointment at the ear specialist goes well tomorrow. Hoping Serenade's next breeding produces the wanted results. I'm sure you're looking forward to bringing her to Surreal Farm!

Positive thoughts, healing vibes, prayers, {{{{{{HUGS}}}}}} and for all! Good Night!

Hi everyone, I've been missing a lot this week, read a bit but missed most. Getting things prepared for the arrival of Lady Rolanda tomorrow!
Nola - congrats on getting the permanent position!
Vicki - hope all is well with you for Sunday. Some new messages on the event site on FB, if you want to take a look.
Seems like everyone will be here - Grasshopper is still in doubt, hope she can come. That will make our little group about 15, including the guest of honour.

JULIE, I far too often come here to vent about my pain, and forget to come tell you all about the times it is better. I shall try to do better with the good reports, the things that work. Occasionally I will have a flare that nothing seems to help, but they do end. I sometimes think they never will though :((.

Up for intermission, so having a de caf coffee and visiting with my friends till I am sleepy again. I fell asleep in my chair early, so am off schedule a bit. Happy to say I am not hurting now.

CYN-B good to see you here, I know you have everything ship shape for Rolanda's visit. How i wish I could be there just to watch! We would like photos, and comentary about your activities, that is second best to being there. have fun, and give her hugs from all of us who cannot be there, please.

TAMI, I was touched by your student's plans for her wedding with Mitchell. she has learned so much from you. Not just learning of traditions of other cultures, but understanding how to include those into her (pretend) life. She is very mature recognizing and wanting to include traditions from 2 very different cultures. I am sure this is not something she would have thought of a year ago, before having you as a teacher. I think this is just first little sprout of what you have planted in those young minds. You should be proud of what you have done for this class.

WARNING, long winded explanation of medical care in USA for the over 65 group.

JULIE, I am sure I will get the squishing done this month, only holdup will be the date, one year past the last exam. Medicare insurance will only pay for one screening mamo in any 365 days. If it were a medical necessity, with my plan, heaven forbid a lump was found, it would be done first available appointment, this week, even as early as tomorrow. they will do both bone scan and mamo same day, back to back, in same area, of the women's center.

the diagnostic center is under booked now, again, this economy, so it is fast and easy to get tests done if you have insurance and can afford the co pay. I can afford mine, for the Mamo, it is zero! I must ask about the bone scan. some imaging procedures are free, some have a modest co pay. you must remember, I do not have original medicare, the government run health care for the over 65 group. I chose instead a Medicare Advantage plan. It means the gov gives this group the $$$ they would pay for my care, and the group is free to manage my care as they like. Privatization of gov healthcare. I get MUCH more for my dollar and the governments dollar than those who have original medicare. these Advantage plans are only as good as the providing group, some are total scams, doing much LESS than medicare. My plan is run by University of Alabama Hospital, a leader in medical research and now in cost effective care of the seniors. They KNOW how much money is saved in long run by prevention, by screening tests and such and put $$$ into it.

OK, falling asleep

OOOPS, did JULIE, here is the rest. . .

OK, falling asleep now, back to bed for me. Hope I have not bored you to tears with the health care talk, but I have found it interesting to see what others get in way of care, and how it works in Canada, England, and Oz.

Hugs to each of you, with extras.

Morning all. Coffee is ready, help yourself.

Yes, the beastie boys will be helping to pack my parents. They need this amount of time to clean and organize. They are going from 3 to 2 bedrooms and loosing the garage. Not all furniture will fit. Need to decided what to take, what to sell/donate. I still have stuff in my old bedroom so I need to do that room first.

Tami, congratulations to Dylan for all his awards. You must be proud of your boys. Also pleased everything is working out for your parents.
Rolanda, have a good flight tomorrow. i know you will enjoy your time with Cynthia and meeting all the folk from around Brisbane.
I also hope to have about 16 here the following Saturday. i have been working out what to have to eat! It has to be something simple as I do not want to spend time in the kitchen.

Nola, so pleased you have that permanent position. You put in a lot of work and study to get there. Hugs going out to you and your sister.
Bean the pain has pretty well lefty leg now. I have taken some pain killers but nowhere near what the Doctor suggested. It was always the top of my leg that I was worried about, not my hip.

Tricia, I hope they soon sort out the reason for your mouth infection. Here the squishy test is available free to everyone over 50 (I think) and you get a reminder every two years until you are 70. After that they are still free but you have to make your own appointment.
I am pleased that you have us to tell about your aches and pains. I understand how it is necessary to have someone to tell and they understand. I am pleased that you have been doing things for Joy. Being involved with something also helps not to feel the pain as much.

Back from the ear doc. Everything looks good. The tube is still in place and draining as expected. I got this tube installed about 6 months ago since I have serious problems with my right ear. This last time, I was stone deaf in that ear until they drained it. I spend more time with tubes in than with tubes out. This tube is supposed to remain in place for 2 1/2 years. Once it comes out, I'll get a month or 2 of comfort and good hearing, then the infections and earaches will start again.
I got home and IH offered to take me out to lunch to the nicest restaurant in the county. I wonder what he wants this time.

Well, the squishey test and bone density are scheduled. I do not have a wait. My last squishy was on June 22nd, 2011. Since June 22 this year is Friday and screening tests are not done weekends, I have to wait all the way till Monday June 25.

JUNE, thank you for understanding how important it is to me, being able to come here when I hurt. Not only is the talking and the acceptance, the understanding important, the writing of posts about it (or anything) is a distraction. Yes, getting out and doing things with Joy is important, being out and about is a distraction too.

Other distractions are reading, but the book has to be one that sucks you in, where you get lost in that world of fiction. AND the book cannot be too heavy, pound wise, to stress hands, fingers, shoulders or neck. changing activities helps too, even 'rest' activities. sometimes I rest at the computer, with the book, or if there is something good on TV that works. using the speaker phone option, I can talk on phone while resting, again, no stress from holding the book.

I work hard trying to get the best life I can with this fibro mess. with fibro and chronic fatigue, it is a balancing act. weigh the benefits verses the risks. do a bit, rest a bit.

I know I talk a lot about pain pills, but believe me, I would rather not take them. I do not like how they make me feel. I never know how much I will be able to do after popping a pill. will it knock me onto my backside, or will I just get diarrhea of the mouth (or fingers, hehehe) and talk your ears off? Will I fall asleep in my soup? Will I get dizzy and need my walker? Will I be so forgetful I misplace important things? Or leave the stove on? Yep, rather do without pills, but at this stage, it is not possible.

BTW, if you have not guessed, this morning's pill left me with run away fingers, mild balance problems, but NO PAIN hehehe.

OK, rest time is over, I need to move. wonder if I can reach any of the blackberries that are ripe? need to go to Walmart for phone card and court house for my car tag, but must wait for the pain pill side effects to wear off fore I can drive.

Hugs to each of you, with extras. till later.

TAMI, I wish you lived closer and could visit also. We could have a lot of fun doing things together. Heck, would love to be able to visit each and every one of you, except for distance.

Love your parents floor plan. In dining room, is that a sliding glass door, or just windows that open? fixed windows in the Florida room? the long walls of the foyer is a good place for family photos or all the artwork they have collected.Nice pantry in kitchen, good cabinet space. I think they can manage well there. You say condos, are these freestanding units, single family style? Multiple story or in a high rise, apartment style?

ROLANDA, Bon voyage! hope your trip is trouble free, an easy flight.

house smells yummy, I cooked in crock pot today, my niece's recipe, start with frozen chicken pieces, add beans and salsa. I added peppers and onions, a few spices and will serve with warmed flour tortillas and sour cream.

I had to change my plans, I only went to wal mart. Trying to do both meant a much longer drive. I have till June 15 to get that tag, no reason to push myself. It was after 1 pm fore I could safely drive today.

treated myself to lunch out, I do not often eat out alone, but fish place had shrimp special. I had 3 dozen fried shrimp, salad and baked potato. Half the shrimp are in fridge hehehe, so I get 2 meals for price of one.

Later, hugs to each of you.

Tricia, there are no sliding glass doors. They are apartment style, but only a 3 story building. They are on the ground floor and have a corner unit, so extra windows. My dad's cousin lives 5 doors away. The person selling the condo lived around the corner from my mom in the Bronx and used to shop at my Uncle Abie's grocery store.

Bye Rolanda ... have fun.

Really nice layout, Tami. I've told hubby before I wouldn't mind moving to a condo in the future ... no grass to cut, no snow to shovel.

I am quite achey today, the arthritis seems to be acting up. Oh well, so far it has never bothered me while I'm trying to sleep, so I'm lucky that way. In actual fact it always feels better when I wake up. I had a lie-down around lunch time because it was bothering me, and after that it was fine for about an hour. I would rather sleep if I can than take meds for it.

TAMI, reason I asked about sliding glass doors, that symbol they used on the window is used for sliding glass doors, one line that kind of goes behind the other, notates that slides open. perhaps those are operable windows, dining room and kitchen. I like the pocket doors in the master suite, can close off the different compartments, but not worry about where a regular door will swing.

heidi, tour bus? I think I missed something, I need to check back.
