SUZY, what a nightmare! I am glad you survived the day. I am shocked that the students were allowed to get away with that kind of behavior in front of the principal . It shows they have been out of control and getting away with it for some time. they have become very brave. I have no idea what it is going to take to get them back under control again. I am sorry you had such an experience. Would you go back there to that class if asked???

Body parts suspect Luka Magnotta arrested in Germany

Canadian murder suspect Luka Rocco Magnotta has been arrested in Berlin.

Magnotta is wanted by Montreal authorities on first-degree murder and other charges, including threatening Canadian politicians.

He is suspected of killing Jun Lin – a 33-year-old Chinese university student with whom he had a relationship – filming the attack and mailing the victim's dismembered body parts to Canadian political parties.

German police Chief-Supt. Stefan Rieldich told CBC News that Berlin authorities arrested Magnotta in an internet café Monday at 2 p.m. local time.

'As far as I know he was arrested alone, and there was no struggle,' Rieldich said.

Magnotta is being held at the Berlin prison and is expected to be brought in front of a judge on Tuesday.

Magnotta, dubbed the 'Butcher of Montreal' by European media, was spotted in Paris on the weekend, at a local café and in a hotel.

What a Beautiful Day

My face in the mirror
Isn't wrinkled or drawn.
My house isn't dirty.
The cobwebs are gone.
My garden looks lovely
And so does my lawn.
I think I might never
Put my glasses back on

Hi all. My parents went to look at condos today. First one they went to they felt was right. The offer was accepted and they will put down a deposit tomorrow. They did look at a few others. The woman they are buying from is moving up north to live with daughter. She grew up around the corner from my mom and shopped at my uncle's grocery store. Small world.

My big bowls game today....and the forecast is for severe storms later today. It is also a cold day here today.
Actually the storm warning worries me more with the fact that Belinda will be away and I have to drive to her place (through lots of trees) and then feed all the horses. They each have a special place to be fed and then put back into their own areas. Old gates that do not agree with my back.
ken has other commitments so I will have to do it by myself.

What great news for the entire world, Theresa. He will hopefully never see the light of day again.

Back 5 years ago, when I had custody of a friend's teenage son, his school had some out of control students like that. One had been expelled and came around causing trouble. The police were called and the troublemaker was locked up in a juvenile detention center. Sometimes, drastic measures have to be taken to regain control. And the kids need to learn the rules of society before they become adults and burden the justice system and the taxpayers.

Heidi, my parents listed the house last Monday, got a full price offer on Thursday and signed a contract Friday. The met a real estate agent Saturday. The guy set up a few to show them today and they found the one the like. This from the mother who told me I had to give her two years notice if I was getting married so she would have enough time to buy a dress.

Tricia.. what fun had?
now what is that saying .. 'what happens at camp stays at camp'

We did lots of walking, the cottage we stayed in was on the main rd, just past the town centre. So easy walk in.
Fri: Dinner at the Pub. I had Grilled Barramundi (Fish) with salad and chips YUM!!!
Sat: had morning tea at a cafe, walked all over town, and walked back to the cottage along the River. Lunch back at the Cottage, and we all lazed about the afternoon.. reading, talking, snoozing...
Dinner: Roast Beef, and cooked up some veg, and had Mary's Mint Pie for sweets.
Sun: Thankfully we did not have to drive.. It was packed in town. everyman and his dog went to York for the day!
We had Morning tea in another Cafe, walked about, for lunch - we had burgers in another place along side the river.
Walked back along the river to the cottage.. after a cuppa, we drove up the the lookout.. wonderful 360(degree) view.
Dinner - Tin Tomato Soup!
Mon: after breakfast, we packed and left around 10.30am, headed to another cafe for a cuppa, before heading home.

I am runner up!. I did try my hardest but the other player is just too good. She also has bigger heavier bowls and they are not as affected by the wind as my small ones are.
How exciting to have the brickwork finished tomorrow Rolanda.
Good on you Gail to finish the painting. I will have a busy time for the next week and a half. Getting jobs done that have been put off for ages.

Greetings and (relatively early) good evening!

I'm trying to be organized, as the alarm will be set for 5:30 tomorrow morning and we need to be out of the door well before 7:00.

Welcome home, Rolanda! I'm glad you had an enjoyable and relaxing weekend!

Gail, sending you a big long-distance high-five! Well done for finishing the painting of the main living area and kitchen walls! What an accomplishment! Was it a duo effort?

Theresa, the rainy and dreary days are to help us appreciate the pleasant and sunny days more! Tomorrow will be better!

Tami, I'm sure the coffee made in the new coffee maker was terrific! I'm sure everyone enjoyed it! Was your hubby's softball team exhausted after playing two and a half games? Too bad it put them up against the first seed, but sounds like they had fun!

Suzy, sounds like quite a day! I can understand that they have not had the benefit of a regular assigned science teacher for 2 months. However, at 14 or 15 years old, they should have some respect for teachers (whether assigned or substitute, science or home economics, etc.) and for the vice principal. Obviously they are allowed to have their cell phones with them in classes. I'm so sorry you had to be the one to bear the brunt of it! I hope you put up your feet and had a glass of something yummy when you got home!

MIzT, I'm sorry the storm woke you up and contributed to your pain, but glad the medication seemed to kick in today. I hope you followed your advice and rested between small amounts of work! Yum for cinnamon and blueberry/blackberry muffins!

Heidi, I'm SO glad the epidural was a doozy. I hope you were able to get some restful sleep!

MizT, I had forgotten that you were a pyromaniac also. I guess you are allowed to burn some things where you live, as I think Heidi is also where she lives. When I was a kid, we lived in a small town of 5,000 people. It seemed like everyone raked their leaves and burned them in a bonfire in the fall. Where we live, there are ordinances against burning leaves, though I assume a fire is allowed in a fire pit. The young people who had the party behind us a few nights ago had a fire in their designated fire pit.

Theresa, that's great news that the killer was caught! I'm sure many people are catching their breath now, knowing that he is behind bars.

Theresa, I love the poem! Very clever!

Tami, small world indeed! I'm sure your parents have made an excellent decision! (I'm glad they looked at several condos before making their choice.) And good for them for getting their full asking price for their house! Seems like they can make a decision quickly when ready!

June, I hope the storm holds off until you have had a chance to feed and take care of Belinda's horses and get back home! Good luck with the gates!

Rolanda, your weekend sounds wonderful! How exciting that you drove by on your way home and found that the bricklayers are nearly finished.

June, congratulations on the runner-up and

Another tonight. Here's the rest:

June, congratulations on the runner-up and for doing your best. You had said the your competitor had won multiple years in a row, so you shouldn't be disappointed. (I hadn't thought about how bigger, heavier bowls would influence the outcome.) I know you want to get may of your projects finished, but remember to allow yourself some time for rest, as well!

Gail, I hope all goes well as you paint/fix up the family bathroom and toilet!

It's 10:00, and I need to be getting ready for bed. Unfortunately, the cat vomited on the bed, so we're waiting for laundry, which is nearly finished.

Sending happy and positive thoughts, prayers, healing vibes, {{{{{HUGS}}}}} and for everyone!

I'm up again for a short time. I'm really getting excited about tomorrow. I get the staples removed from the leg at 1:30!! It's been hot here, and I'm sick of keeping that leg heavily bandaged to protect it. I remove the bandage daily, clean the incision, put a new pad on it and re-wrap it again, but it still gets hot and itchy. And with 19 staples, I don't want to rub or scratch it. My pain management doc was interested in looking at it this morning to see the healing, and he said it looked great (my opinion, too).
Thursday morning I have ANOTHER doctor's appointment.... this time with the ear specialist. I still have a tube in my right ear, and it needs to be checked.

Hi everyone!
Heidi, I'm glad to hear the epidural was a doozy!
Tami, congratulations to your parents on selling and buying so quickly. Maybe it will rub off on my mother but I really think she is just visiting retirement cottages to have a sticky beak.
MizT, I hope the pain flows away quickly.

Finally we are fully staffed at work again. It has been a really really long six weeks. My house looks terrible - the dust bunnies have taken control, Reg has left so much hair on every step we could make a second dog with it. I have piles of washing (thanks to last weekends rain) and my mother is coming to stay on Friday night (insert one of those Macauly Culkin 'Home Alone' aaarghs). Repeat after me 'I am not overwhelmed' breathe deeply 'I am not overwhelmed' breathe out... repeat....

I am really looking forward to meeting Rolanda and catching up with everyone else on Sunday. It should be great.

I'm also starting to plan my next holiday. We are going to Tasmania for two weeks in October. We got really cheap flights from the Gold Coast - Hobart $90 one way and $109 for the return leg.
It was worth the 1 hour trip to the coast to save about $300 each for the return flight.

Animals all fed and the horses are back in their alloted padocks. It rained heavily on the way here but there was no wind. That might come later tonight. It is very wet and muddy here and the ground is very slippery. One of the big horses nearly pushed me over but I managed to stay upright. The fire is alight , I will make the bed and then settle down and watch TV and eat my BBQ chicken and salad that I bought on the way here.

Victoria, deep breath and you will get through this weekend when your Mum is visiting. The holiday in Tasmania sounds great. Have you been there before?
Heidi, good luck with all those Doctors appointments. Hope everything gets fixed up.
Rolanda, I appreciate having the push to have to get things done. I have put off a few things the last couple of days as I was protecting my back for today. (with bowls and horses etc it will be getting the heat treatment shortly)
Thinking of you all. Will close down Belinda's computer shortly.

Morning all. Coffee is brewing and should be ready shortly.

June, congrats on being runner up. That is still an accomplishment.

Heidi, I know you are excited about today. Having staples, or stitches, is not fun. Having them removed will make you feel much better.

Suzy, glad Tahli found a comfy place to rest. My students are getting antsy right now. Only 3 more school days.

Julie, thanks again for the update. It helps to read your summary. Hubby plays in two different leagues this season, that is why he had so many games. He is probably only going to play on one team next year.

Rolanda, sounds like you had a nice weekend. Sounds like a nice place to visit. I know you are excited about your upcoming visit. I wish I could be there for all the fun.

Theresa, glad they caught that maniac. I know it will help a lot of people sleep better.

Vicki, the trip to Taz sounds like fun. I would drive an hour also to get a cheaper flight.

Gail, glad you are getting things checked off your to do list. My to do list just got a lot longer for the summer.

Typing all this from memory. My apologies to anyone I may have missed.

Hi all. I seem to have all the energy of a fence post today. Beautiful weather here, sunny and a high of 22C. I could get used to this. Have spent most of the morning sitting outside with D and the little girl she babysits two half days a week. Now I really should get something done, or at least fake it!

I'm now staple free, and loving it. I had a pleasant surprise, though. It seems to be standard procedure now for all doctor's offices to weigh me every time I visit. I really don't know why they have to weigh me to remove staples. But they do. Well, it seems I lost 6 lbs in the last 2 weeks. That's a small step in the right direction.
