Judy just called and they are transferring her to the private hospital when an ambulance becomes available.
Blood tests showed very low iron which is a side effect of chemo.
Thanks for letting me vent.
I feel better now but I will be putting in a complaint to the Clinical manager as I was not on duty technically when they rang me. The RN was just being nasty.Renae is also going to contact the manager about the situation,as I have rarely
let my personal life interfere with work except when the twins were born prematurely and I went early to drive 5 hrs for the birth.
I FEEL BETTER NOW.

Did not know it was a topp Broni.
Here is one though.

Kind words can be short and easy to speak, but there echoes are truly endless. 'Mother Teresa'

Great to see you Broni. I have been thinking of you!

Morning all.

Broni, thinking of Arran and his family, and thinking of you too. Life can be so stressful.

Happy birthday to Laura. We have watched her growing on this site. What a sweetie.

Nola, we hope that our friends and work mates will help support us, not hinder us. I would be fuming too at the actions of the RN. I am glad you will be reporting the situation.

I had more to say, but I turned the page and now I can't remember what I read!!!! I guess I will go back and check it out again.

Nola, I too miss meals sometimes, which is not good. Like Bean, I just forget to eat. Especially when the weather is humid, the last thing on my mind is food. Hubby cannot understand how I can forget to eat.

I was going to get groceries today, but I don't have the energy. It rained overnight and my hips and tailbone are achey, but just a little bit. We will be in the car for an hour and a half to visit the outlaws, sit around for a few hours, then an hour and a half to come home. I just did not want to exacerbate the achiness by walking around in the store on cement floors. It is the 'big haul' for groceries. We will go tomorrow after hubby gets home from work instead.

Broni, I am assuming that Arran is pronounced like Erin???? I like the name.

Gotta run and get some stuff done. I spent a fair bit of time yesterday swearing because I knew I would be short of time today. By next weekend I hope to have the porch organized and then I will let the kitties out there. We bought this house in 1986 and they have never been out there. Boy, will they be excited with all the windows. They will also have a first hand view of the bird and squirrel feeders! Something to occupy their little brains!

On Friday, when I picked Richard up from the station after work, I said to him I fancied going away for the weekend. We had plans for that night but Richard booked a hotel for the following night. We went away next morning, spent the day on the Essex coast in wonderful sunshine. Went to the hotel, then had dinner out. This morning we went to Southwold, on the Suffolk coast today, sun shone again. Drove back home this afternoon. One night away from home and it felt like a wonderful holiday.

Nola.... I would be livid over the actions of that RN. You were off duty, officially, and even if you weren't , that was an emergency phone call. For a person whose job it is to assist in saving lives, she jeopardized Judy's life. She needs to be reported to everybody over her in the hospital.

Chaka spent the night like she's been here for years. She slept back to back with Sugar next to my bed. When I awoke, she was gone. I walked into the kitchen to find her playing with Gil. He's crazy about her.

I have to leave in an hour and a half for a Lion's Club board meeting. When I return, IH will be leaving for the plant. It's gonna be a quiet night here tonight.

Good mAen everyone! Went to see my friend Johnette bellydance yesterday. Had a nice time. Allergies driving me crazy!! Very scratchy voice (sound like Tallulah Bankhead!!). Slept good except for coughing a few times.
Still hot here (mid-upper 90's). Waiting for it to cool off soon.
Hope all are well here, not reading much, just checking in on occasion.

Morning all,
Nola, how frustrating to work with someone like that RN!!! I hope your complaints work and next time she's not such a jerk! As if you needed that on top of what was going on with Judy! I'm glad she's getting the care she needs now. Big hugs for both of you! And for Renae, thank goodness she found her

Tami, it might be time to get a sneaky valium prescription to have for emergencies like this one! My mum always had some on hand just in case. She knew the doctors though, I don't think I'd be able to get any...

I join the missing meals club, especially when I'm working. I can get to dinner time and that will be the first thing I've eaten all day - 3 and 4 days in a row. And if it wasn't for Don I'd probably have a couple of bickies for dinner and be happy. No wonder I'm not losing any more weight.

Interesting dramas here over the weekend.

Alie went to a party with her new 'boyfriend', henceforth referred to as BOY. (You know I'm serious when I start with the caps)

We found out stuff in non-sequential order, but you get to hear it in order.

On the way to the party BOY lost his driver's license when he was caught speeding. Of course it doesn't kick in until he gets the letter in the mail so he continued driving.

They get to the party and he promptly deserts her and goes over to his mates. He eventually comes back and says 'why are you making me look like a bad boyfriend, why aren't you talking to anyone?'

Alie gives up and goes outside to sit under a tree and cry (does anyone remember how bl00dy cold it was on Saturday night???) After about half an hour he comes out and says 'what's wrong? Do you want to sit in my car? I have to do something but I'll take you home later'.

Everything he says is about her - I usually date blonde athletic types, etc etc. I think he even used the words 'you're not good enough for me'...

She bought it!! I sent her a text at one point asking if she was being a good girl. I walked away from my phone and didn't know she'd answered. I picked it up about 40 minutes later and Don says 'oh yeah, that beeped'. I read the text 'I've been sitting outside in the car for an hour', and hit the roof! Of course by then her phone had died and I had no way to reach her!! Luckily it was only about another nail biting half an hour before she got home.

We set her straight on who was a bad friend and it wasn't her, Dana chipped in - it helps when someone close in age agrees, because parents are morons.

We now have a promise that if anything like that ever happened again she would text us to come and get her right away. I am glad I have only met this kid once because if I knew him well I'm not sure I'd be able to resist ripping strips off him in public!!

Oh Suzy, I hope she gets away from him soon. He has no right to put her down and he sounds like he might be a bit controlling. Why don't kids listen to us? Is it so hard to believe that we were once young too and went through similar things?

Well, my day was a disaster. We went to visit my MIL and FIL. Hubby's sister was being a real b1tch! She started in about certain things almost as soon as we got there. According to her things weren't moving quickly enough with Veterans Affairs re installing a shower downstairs. I told her everything was moving along and it really wasn't up to us, it was Veterans Affairs who seemed to be taking their time. Well, maybe she should take it over again so that things will get done. (I could tell by this point hubby was starting to fume.) Why doesn't my hubby retire so he can spend more time with his parents? (Because hubby is 59 and his gov't pension doesn't kick in until he's 65. We actually need money to pay our bills.) She wanted us to order food out and share it with his parents, but hubby has to get up at 3:30 to get to work on time. Boy, was she mad at that. Part of the problem is she is broke and it's almost always hubby that has to pay most of the meals.

One of her big things right now is why don't we sell off part of the farm for money. She brought this up in front of her parents. First of all, it's not her farm to sell, it's hubby's. About 25 years ago my inlaws GAVE her a house, so she has never had to pay mortgage or anything like that. The understanding was that the farm would go to my hubby. What makes her think that if we sold land that she would be entitled to money? Her hubby is not working. He's an Anglican priest without a parish. He has had parishes in the past, so I don't know why he doesn't have one now. He has quite a few disabilities, so he is on a disability pension. But none of those disabilities would prevent him from preaching. She cleans houses for about 3 or 4 people. Why should we have to support her?????

Sorry for the long vent. Hubby and I left around 4:00 PM because we just couldn't take much more. Hubby told her, 'It's my farm and I'm not willing to sell off land as yet.' I also got snippy with her a couple of times. Darn, darn, double darn. Needless to say she put a damper on the day.

I usually like her, but not today!!!

Oh Theresa! How horrible! I hope there is good documentation about the farm because she sounds horrible enough to try to get some of it!! Just imagine how much easier your life would have been over the last few, difficult, years without rent or a mortgage.

So true, Suzy. What we could have done with not paying almost $1,000 a month in mortgage for 25 years!

Hubby's sister also feels he should be down there more often. He goes one day a week and he runs errands for them during the week. It's an hour and a half drive each way. I know she's feeling overwhelmed right now, but I don't see what more we can do. Hubby has put in for a transfer at work to the location nearest his parents' house, but so far he hasn't had any luck. She might be willing to live on a pittance each month, but we are not. We want to live comfortably enough when we retire that we are not counting pennies all the time. We would like to do some travelling, mostly in Canada and the U.S. Who knows, one day I might get to meet Heidi and Tami and MizT and Julie! I can dream, can't I?

For our 40th anniversary in three years we would like to take a holiday to the Maritimes again. My daughter got married in Prince Edward Island and we loved it. This time we would like to visit Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. That is our goal anyway. We are hoping to take a train down and then rent a car when we get there. When we went to PEI we drove down, but that was a very long drive.

I feel better after my vent. Thanks for listening.

Broni - pleased to see you around the pages and to hear that Teresa is going to London to see Arran, and that he is getting better.
Suzy - I assume that BOY has been dropped from a great height! I would swear but it's not allowed. How dare anyone like that make Alie feel bad. Karin had a boyfriend like that once - unfortunately that relationship lasted about 2 years much to my frustration!
Heidi - pleased Chaka has settled in and that Gil likes her.
Loved the closing ceremony this morning - even enjoyed seeing the Spice Girls! lol
Got Emily again today, no school because of the Ekka, so we're off to have lunch with my sis, BIL, and my cousin and her hubby.
Ciao all - love and hugs.

Greetings friends. Been a bit under the weather, tummy not happy, but itis better today. I just feel washed out a bit today. That can't keep me from packing though, even if I have to pack half a box and rest. I am to the packing of things I cannot do without, so am packing but not sealing boxes, leaving them near where I use the items. Things from the bathroom shelves are in a box that fits into the bottom shelf, if I need one of the items just slide it out and reach in. Same for seldom used items from a chest in my room, into box that sits in front of the chest. Under vanity in bathroom, computer desk drawer items, same. On to the items under sink in kitchen next.

I came home and re designed my living room furniture layout. NO WAY I can have my recliner across from TV and have even a loveseat in living room. Most people put a sofa on wall I want my recliner on. I must sit with feet elevated, and back needs the recliner, it is not happy on a sofa. Decided I will just take Al's and my recliners, sit them side by side with a table between, then use the parsons chairs I am buying for the small drop leaf table, those will be my chairs. I do not foresee having more than 4 people at a time visiting. IF I do, we could go to one of the sun rooms that have seating.

Bedroom furniture is gonna fit, even have some extra space. I can get my queen bed, my armiour, the ladies desk I use for computer desk, asmall 3 drawer chest/bedside table, but not at the bedside, oh well. there is an AC vent that would be right behind the bedside table, enough problem getting sufficient air into the bedroom, no way I can block it with furniture!I am thinking about surface mounting a fan over the vent to suck more air out of the unit in living room. I do not think it even has a separate fan in that duct work. I like my bedroom really cool for sleeping. Not a problem in winter, leave window open a bit, but summer must do something.

Did I say when seated in living room or at my computer in bedroom, I cannot see the cars in parking lot? I see tops of trees from our back garden beyond the parking lot, or across the alley, trees in front of the back of another apartment building. I love being able to look outside and see trees and sunshine, so this will work nicely.

I have read, forgot a lot. NOLA, I am so sorry to hear about JUDY's fall and being without water, so bad. I cannot imagine that RN not putting through that call, you were after hours, and beside, it really was an emergency. Do your coworkers know about your Sister's cancer? That RN could have at least given you a message to call your sister before you left work!

I would have a LOT of extra space in living room if not for that heat/AC unit that takes up 6 feet in an almost 12 foot wide wall. Really a design challenge.

That place is sounding better and better, MizT. I just wish you could keep your sweet cat with you there. That's the only down side I see.

I got back from the meeting and promptly fell asleep for 3 hours. It was a short and enjoyable meeting, not overburdened with financial minutia, I don't know why I got so tired.

So now I'm gonna feed and water the birds, then go back to sleep for the night. I haven't been sleeping well at night because of my back hurting, so I'm trying to get as much sleep as I can when I can. The next epidural, I think, is in 2 weeks. The previous one has worn off, so I'm having to take a bunch of methadone. The only problem with that is that methadone interferes with other meds. Sleeping pills don't work. And I discovered why I have so many problems with trying to get novocain to work at the dentist's.... the methadone does a number on it . It takes 2 or 3 or 5 shots to do the job of 1, and it wears off in minutes instead of hours. I can have 5 shots of novocain wear off while still in the dentist's chair!
