Gekko my friends.
Weekend went way too quick.
Teresa is flying out tomorrow night heading off to London again to see her grandson, he has no complications from his difficult birth and is over average for his age. She can have the cold over there brrrr!
Love and Hugs.

Hello everyone.
Heidi pleased you had a good break in Florida and hope the only problem you got home to was the cold weather.
Broni, temps here are not too bad at present (though I suppose in comparison to what you are used to it will be cold) the rain is a problem.

Slept long and well. I feel rejuvenated after a fantastic vacation. They spoiled me rotten, and stuffed me with large amounts of delicious food. We went to a community Thanksgiving pot luck, which I'd never heard of before, and there was massive amounts of the best turkey, stuffing and other traditional dishes that I've ever tasted. This is a retirement community so these people have learned how to cook to perfection from years of practice. My friends are great cooks, too, and I have all sorts of ideas of new dishes to make.

Tami.... the closest grocery store to them was a Publix. I intentionally didn't take a carry-on piece of luggage with me on the way down so I could pick up a cooler there and fill it with blintzes for the return trip. Which is what I did..... 16 boxes of blintzes. Those will last a while.

The only bad thing that happened here was with Daisy May. She was accidentally bred, and I thought she was due soon, hoping that she would wait until I got back. She didn't. She had the puppies somewhere unknown, and lost them. When I returned she was no longer pregnant, and there's no sign of any puppies. I never told IH that she was pregnant, so there's no sense asking him if he knows anything. He would never notice anything unless specifically ordered to notice it.

Oh, yeah.... I chipped one of my nice new front teeth while in Florida. The dentist will be thrilled when I see her later this week.

Welcome back Heidi - you do sound rejuvenated! I am glad you had such a good time but sorry about Daisy May losing the puppies.
Broni - good news about Teresa's grandson. She won't notice the weather, she's got a grandson to play with!!

I'm hoping someone is more technologically (sp) savvy than me. Last night I got a message that an 'unknown' had remotely accessed my FB yesterday from a place on the other side of Brisbane, which has scared the bejeebers out of me. I have changed my FB password as advised. But, could that person have accessed anything else on my computer? I have run CCleaner and a full scan, which found no problems, but I wanted to access Internet Banking today but am worried that if I do they may get access to it.
Any advice would be helpful.

Where is MizT? Haven't seen her in days. Hope she's just been busy in her new abode.
Speaking of new abodes, Rolanda must be settling into hers. Hope they get their phone and internet connections soon.

I have been reading and can't catch up!

I was away over the holiday, Joy came to take us to my sister's house. Sister wanted me to stay over, so Joy left her car here, would drive my car back to get her car, and sister would take me home. That sounded like a plan.

Joy got her cousin Greg to check out my tires, I thought I needed one new one. He said I had one so bad I should not drive home on it, must have 2, would be good to have 4 new. So plans changed. We would keep my car, take it for new tires on Friday. Joy's cousin took her back here for her car. I stayed with sis as planned. We got car to tire store by 8 am Friday, signed on for new tires, check alignment, and oil change, get it all done and over. At 11 am, got a call. Car needed front end parts, could not do alignment without them. AND they could not have car finished Friday, part not available till 3:30 Friday, would be sometime Saturday fore I could get it. Another night at sister's house.

Well, car drives great, pocket is a LOT lighter, just glad I was able to swing this unexpected expense. I can return car for lifetime rotation and balance, and as I visit sister often, and the store is only 5 min from her house, I will have her to take and pick me up and not have to sit waiting. That will be good.

dinner was wonderful, three tables with just food, plus kitchen counter. There was room for 19 to sit for dinner, several tables, many kinds of chairs slid together to make one huge long eating table. Some really good cooks on my niece's (by marriage) side of the family. Turkey, dressing, ham, sausage balls, cheese ball, veggie tray, fruit tray, lots of cookies, green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole, potato salad, dried large butter beans, spinach salad, I know I am forgetting something, and too many pies and cakes to count.

I hope to catch up reading soon. I am so far behind comments would not be current, but I am enjoying catching up with all of your doings while I was away.

Hugs to each of you, with extras.

Hi folks..
Theresa a heartfelt sympathy ... nobody needs all that sort of grief amongst family. How on earth do families end up like this...

Have read as far as your post Gail.
My GP send out letters to all of his patients saying his last day would be Friday [just gone] with emergency contact details for the next 6+ weeks. It also said that a decision about retirement would be made in this time but from the way it was worded I do NOT think he will be seeing patients again. Don't know if he is unwell [he's had a bad year] or if it is his family. Wife had breast cancer a while back.. Old fashioned service of his kind is very rare... he rang me one day because he hadn't seen me for a while.. wanted to check I was ok... I had been immunosuppressed and hadn't been able to keep out of his rooms..

Hello again folks.
Been reading all the news, but my memory is bad ...
I'm just back from the dentist, with numb mouth and possible pain to come ... them's the breaks, so they say!
Bean, sorry to hear about your doctor - it's awful having to look for new carers.
MizT, glad to hear that you're well. :)
Heidi, sorry that you've got more tooth troubles - I'll see how mine are when the feeling returns!
Take care everyone. :)

Wow.. lots going on in everybodies lives... big hugs with liberal lashings of fortitude for all that need it.

I have had a wonderful weekend.
Was far too late getting away. Lots of last minute things to be done and got caught up in chat with one of my admirers... it is always hard to walk away from an admirer when they have been light on the ground... Ex certainly didn't fit that bill!! Very bad for my self esteem!! LOL

Jai and I were busy trying to make the yard it more dog proof.. they are not happy to NOT be able to see and bark at the dog in the next yard. It was only a matter of time before they realised that the fence was falling down and not much of a barrier.

Some of the FB'ers have seen a couple of posts i made. Diana shared a video on my page of some of the drumming and dancing.. did anybody see that? [wondered if it was visible seeing as I didn't post it] I've got a lot words to learn today ... want to be word perfect before I get to choir practice tomorrow. We have a booking for Thursday night, the big concert at the Melbourne Town Hall on Sunday arvo and another booking the following Tuesday after choir practice..

I need a nana nap.I will return..

I am sorry that you are losing the services of your GP Bean, they take a long time to break in and train, a bit like trying to find a new hairdresser!

Hannah and I have just been down to the Tafe for the last time to pick up her artwork. Now it is time for her to start looking for a job of some description as she would like to continue her studies but will be paying for future courses herself.
I will be starting a page on FB so she can advertise her works for sale.

I'm thinking more along the lines of locally and Aus Heidi. Most of her works are canvasses, so postage will be quite prohibitive. If they were loose canvas it might be a different matter, but they are all pre-stretched. I am sorry...

I have to go back to read again, but will do that when the Panadol kicks in..

It was my last day of the 2 week science block today. I'm back to not knowing what I'm going to teach tomorrow... I've enjoyed myself and although I think the junior classes are glad they will have their regular teacher back the seniors wanted to start a petition to keep me! Very flattering...

Alie started work experience today. She said she didn't stop all day, but she loved it! She's even thinking of weird and wacky hair styles she'd now like...

When she arrived she was introduced to everyone. The salon owner's mother (a grandmotherly type lady) came up to her and said 'Hi I'm Carol, but please call me Nan'. Well Alie just about lost it - Carol was my mother's name and Alie called her Nan.

Daily anecdote: The reason I need Panadol (Tylenol to the topsiders).

I had junior sport this afternoon and was 'sweeper'. That meant I had to walk from one sport to another to see if the teachers needed any help. I went to the tough group first - a year 8 group and all the way across the road (Just getting to the road is probably half a km). I had to escort two kids to the office and back and then one young lady to detention/nonsport to tell them she was there because she was a smart alec, rude and disrespectful. When she got there she was a smart alec, rude and disrespectful! I walked all the way back...then I went to check on a group on an oval on the other side of the school. As I was walking down I saw two girls away from the group they were supposed to be with. As I watched one gave the other something which I though looked suspicious so I kept watching. They ran to the toilet block and I suspected the worst, until they stopped outside. They rubbed something on the bricks and I saw flames! Strike anywhere/non safety matches are illegal in Australia and lighting anything except a bunsen burner is against school rules. I called out 'that's enough girls' and they ran back to their group. I told their teacher what I saw and he called them over and they showed me sticks which they claimed they had been rubbing against the wall. If they'd had any sense they would have chosen match stick size sticks, but no. The teacher got them to empty their pockets and there was nothing there - of course, they had handed over anything left to their friends! I power walked back to the school but was 5 minutes too late to help the teacher I was supposed to help.. bugger! All the walking has done a number on my hip and just lifting my foot to put the brake on on the way home was causing cramps in my hip! After 10 years I guess it might be time to talk to a doc about it...

Chatty lot today. Gekko my friends.
Sloshy thing had a leak that the mechanic had never had to repair in 7 years which shorted the motor and the house power, was supposed to get a quote on repairs today...still waiting.
Have a few war wounds from trying to move the sloshy thing and still do not have cousin's old washer in the house, figure I will go see my friends down the road and borrow theirs. Heading down to Inverell this Friday and sloshy has been broken for a week and a half.
Zusy, thought you had already finished working?
