In between teaching tasks...

Hi eaa!! I have often wondered if you stalk the page and drop in when a TOPP is near, but you have missed so many over the last year or so that I decided that it was luck more than stalking...

Thank you everyone for the lovely comments on Alie's photo. She looks nothing like me! Her dark hair is her father all the way, though the texture is like mine. Her features are also her dad.. Poor Dana got my pointy chin and bumpy nose, Alie missed those...

I can't really scroll on this computer, not without losing posts anway so I will have to come back tonight to see what you have all been up to..

Big hugs

Hi all. Just a quick stop in. I am typing Dylan's homework for him. Tomorrow is going to be interesting. I have to go to court as I have a subpoena. Last year one of my students (female) knocked one of my boys upside the head. She was arrested and it is going to court tomorrow. I actually did not see it happen but have to go anyways. This should be intersting.

Hi, Everyone! I'm headed for the recliner. Grandies shared their cold, so I have runny nose, tears in eyes, cough, sneeze, etc. and can't sleep lying down. I only did slightly better in the recliner last night.

Sending {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, positive thoughts, prayers, healing vibes and for everyone!

I have a nasty headache today, and my back is sore. I'm out of methadone and can't get more until tomorrow. At least IH went out of town so he can't stress me.

Well Richard has done it again! We now have a replacement for the little red car. Just got back from picking up an Austin Maestro LX, 22 years old with 21117 miles on the clock. This one is an automatic, electric windows, central locking and a sun roof.

Wow, imagine that, Brenda - an Austin! My late Dad would be impressed. He loved Austins, swore by them, and he always had one until you could no longer buy them in Australia.
In the late seventies, after my first marriage broke up, I needed a car and turned to Dad for help to find one. I ended up with an Austin 1800 - it was green and looked like a squashed frog. It's number plate was POG (with some numbers I don't remember). My kids and I named it Pog the Frog. I had it for 3-4 years before I replaced it.

Welcome to your new home Rolanda. Time now to fill it with love and laughter.
Car sounds great Brenda.
Pleased you had a wonderful holiday Heidi. If Daisy may's pup were inbread maybe just as well she lost them.
Great to see eea's little furry nose pop in to turn the page.
Off to the city to have lunch with Bluey and Sydney Kate who submits all the photos.

Yeah, June. It was for the best. Daisy May is only 12 1/2 months old herself, and the pups were inbred. It's in her best interest to not have to raise little ones. Once she dries up, I'll have her spayed.

Connected via my phone grrrr

Julie, feel better!!

Rolanda, tell me about it! It's that or dial up for me and has been for more than 2-3 years - you will survive. Though there will be days like mine today where you want to throttle your provider! I know you'll get the boxes unpacked lickety split!

Broni, that's my kind of washing! I want friends like yours!

Brenda, it's amazing that he found a car that old with mileage that low! Forgive my ignorance, but is that a big car???

Hope you had a great lunch June!

I found out today that my neighbour's dogs got parvo and she had them all put down... The good news is, no more barking. The bad news is that we share a fence! I think mine had their shots for that so we should be okay.. She is the type of pet owner who would give the shots a miss - though the animals eat better than we do!

Brenda, that's

BOM put up no warnings.

Hubby and I went to see the latest Bond movie today, Skyfall. We went Gold Class, not cheap but the only way to watch a movie! Champagne and nibbles, don't mind if I do!

The car isn't a big car. It is a cr*p car really, they were probably the worst built car around. Even though it has the 'mod cons' the controls for them are in stupid places. The switches for the electric windows are on the front console behind the gear stick. the heater controls are hard to get at whilst driving. According to a web site Richard found there are only 10 (11 now) of these cars still on the road and another dozen or so SORNed (they are not on the road) In the UK you either have to tax a car annually or SORN it. I'll try to put a photo up asap, but at the minute the weather isn't conducive to going out taking photos.
Not sure if you have heard about the flooding here in the UK. Many areas of the country are having problems and there are over 300 flood warnings today. Fortunately were I live is fairly safe from flooding as we don't have rivers close by. The ground is saturated. So much for the drought situation we had at the beginning of the year. Weather is supposed to improve today, but forecast is for cold and wintery weather to follow.

Ooops, I have no idea what I was saying...

Brenda, sounds like 22 years ago they weren't employing women at car manufacturers.... or at least not listening to them!

Gail, I really want to see that! Of course I was working on hubby's flexi and he won't get another for 3 weeks... Was it good champagne? I don't know if we have gold class here.. I'll have to research it. I know they do lunch and a movie.

Brenda, I haven't got to read as much news while I was working then today, my first day off, I had limited access to the internet. Basically facebook and what I could get when I connected my computer through my phone internet.. (Didn't want to overdo it because I only have 2 gig on the phone).. The floods sound dreadful! I hope you aren't being too badly impacted.

Brenda, there are photos of the car on Google. Ken had an Austin A50 when I first went out with him over 50 years ago.
Had an enjoyable lunch with Bluey and Kate. Although I had met up with both of them several times they had not met one another before.

Hit submit without finishing.... don't laugh at me!

Although our house is on the slope of a small hill, the intersection between our road and the only way out floods regularly. They've fixed it so that it doesn't flood for light rains anymore, but the big ones can still leave it impassable. I'm hoping it's not like that around you. Even though I wasn't planning on going anywhere, I felt trapped and uncomfortable, almost claustrophobic, the last time it happened!

They had two types of bubbly Suzy, Chandon (non-vintage, but at $13 a glass we passed on that), and the one we had which was very drinkable. Thankfully being lunch time we only had one because I got breathoed coming into Cockatoo!

So Gail - I assume the movie was good?? I'm thinking of seeing it tomorrow especially after watching the cast on Graham Norton last night. People are saying it's the best Bond movie ever.
If I don't see that I might go to 'The Intouchables' - anyone seen it?
I regularly get stopped for RBT coming back into this estate at 2 in the afternoon.

Brenda.... I've never heard of a cr*p Austin. Apparently they never imported any into the States. When I was a child, we had an Austin Healey, and remember it fondly, but that was long before I could drive and knew nothing about the controls. I just thought it was beautiful.

I woke up this morning to everything covered in a fine layer of white. Fortunately, it's mostly melted already.

I'm off to Pain Management in a little bit for my meds pick up. Last night was a bad one without my pain pills.

Brenda - here in Oz, we have random breath testing (RBT). We can be stopped anywhere at anytime.
Heidi - the Austin Healy is a classic car.

Brenda, in Australia we have 'Random breath Testing' where the police set up on the side of the road and pull over a selection of drivers and you blow into their testing device. It does help to keep a lot of drunk drivers off the road.
I hope Cyn and Broni were not troubled by the storm last night.

Sound like a good idea (random testing). I bet it would catch a lot of people over here if they could do that. If I drive I don't drink. Richard and I share the driving when we go out. He drives there and I drive home

They are a good thing Brenda, but when they set themselves up at the end of a windy 70km section of road and stand in the middle to redirect you, it can be extremely daunting...one of these days someone is going to hit a cop!
