I went to see Celia today. She had an appointment at the hospital yesterday for an endoscopy (via mouth) of her stomach. She will get the results on Thursday, if she phones her Doctor. Trouble is she will not understand or even remember properly what she is told. I cannot do it for her because we will be away Thursday and Friday for Emily's Graduation ceremony in Cheltenham. She still isn't eating properly everyday, but does seem to be improving.

I hope Heidi has a safe and enjoyable trip!

Enjoy all of your activities, especially drumming and singing, Bean!

Broni, I hope the job continues to be pleasant!

Brenda, congratulations to Emily for her graduation! Great TOPP! I'm running on empty, so off to bed.

Brenda - you broke the site!!
Where is everybody? It's quiet in here without Heidi.
Brenda - glad Celia is slowly improving. Why won't she understand or remember what the Doctor tells her? Does she have memory problems? You've probably explained and I've forgotten (my own bad memory kicking in).
Just waiting for hubby to get home, he had to do a long run yesterday with supposedly enough logbook time to get back home - in an ideal world, with no delays. He didn't get back and had to sleep in the truck at a truck stop 100kms from work.
I hate when that happens. He's looking for a new job, this one is sooo bad. But these days you need another to go to before you leave the previous one.

Cyn, Celia had a stroke a few years back and she gets very muddled and sometimes (most of the time actually)can't explain to anyone what she wants to say. A few weeks ago she phoned me and said 'The thing at the top of the stairs needs thingying' It took a little while for me to work out that she meant the controller for her heating and hot water. It had been set correctly but she must have tried to switch the heating on manually and messed everything up.

Hi everyone, sorry that I seem to be MIA but visiting the hospital every evening, then coming home to cook dinner is very tiring.
MIL is much improved but not ready to be discharged for at least another week. Cannot get about so we need to look for a nursing home. Not what she wants but looks like she will be with us a bit longer.
Went to a RSPCA lunch today with a life time friend. Not much for lunch but an enjoyable day. Then the dentist for a check and clean.
Thinking of you all.

Evening all,
Alie's formal was tonight. I've posted a pic. I had a stranger tell me that Alie had a 'real' formal dress, she obviously didn't approve of some of the dresses the girls were wearing. Hubby said we should go home and get a paintbrush to fix them if the seams burst. The shoes were the funniest things. One girl had shoes that had no heels! I took a photo of them, but don't know if it worked. We saw two girls walking along arm in arm in incredible heels - the new style that are high at the front too. I told hubby they were hanging onto each other in case they fell off them! The security guards at the club said it was easy to see the kids were underage, even the ones who could easily have passed for 18 or more, all you had to do was watch them walk in their heels!

Had to come back because I forgot - Alie was voted best musician and got in the top 3 for prom queen (don't get that since it wasn't a prom), she thought she was going to get called up for prom king because there was a campaign to get people to vote for her for that!

Who would campaign to do that to her. She's a very pretty girl, and deserves the recognition for her music.
I'm sorry to say I don't believe in prom king and queen... all kids/young adults are special in their own way. Actually I disagree with the concept of 'Proms' too. It causes hardships for some people who cannot really afford the fancy dresses and accessories.

Hi All....Just touching base to say I love you and all is well here.
Tomorrow we'll gather at my niece's house and celebrate our many blessings, and we do have much to be thankful for. I will then come home and not have to do any real cooking here for the next couple of days with all of the food I have fixed for home...as Heidi often says...I'll have a happy tummy.
When we are together to thank God for the many blessings that have been sent my way..just want all who frequent this site to know that you folks are high on my list...many thanks for all that you do and give to all of us...Peace.♥

Morning all,
Had to get up early to get ready for today since we went out last night. Luckily I had some a similar unit of work at that other school and was able to steal some material so it wasn't too bad.

Brenda, I hope Celia manages okay with the doctors information. Hopefully he realises that it will be difficult for her. Enjoy the graduation and don't worry about Celia until you get back! Congratulations to Emily!!!!!

I know what you mean about Celia's stroke and losing words. I do it all the time! It took me a whole day to remember skewers a couple of weeks ago. Luckily it has only happened a few times in the classroom, and not for anything I was really well prepared for.

Many of the girls spent very little on their dresses. Alie's, as you know, was from an op shop, the girl in the photo spent $40 on hers. Another of her friends spent $500 - but the rich grandparents bought hers for her. The ticket was the expensive part at $55. They weren't being mean to Alie voting her as Prom King. She thought it was hilarious and was more comfortable with that idea than queen...

Tami, although it's been 16 years, you'd think your garage door would be nice enough to wait until the new year to break... One day you will be out from under this and it will all be a bad memory. Hugs..

Another great week! I am happy and even happier with my pay cheque.
Have the serviceman coming tomorrow to repair the sloshy thingy, keeps on tripping the power hopefully I will still have some pay cheque to enjoy.
Been growing my hair and had some highlights put in last Saturday, I would have to do a head stand for you to see them so they are going to redo them this Saturday, takes time from my weekend but will have a head full of highlights!
Day off for Cous but have come home to an empty house and enjoying the quiet, except for Bella the Basset who thinks she has to be the protector of the domain, so is guarding the front gate and using her deep woof to scare those who dare to cross the street in front of the property.

Love and Hugs to you all.

I too am thankful for all our friends here on Sudoku/SA.
Mother/daughter day today - we are starting my Christmas shopping. I can't get into the spirit this year. Am even wondering if I will put up my Christmas tree. I usually put it up on the last weekend in November but that won't be happening. Maybe by next weekend I will have more Xmas spirit.
I hope all our US friends had a Happy Thanksgiving with their nearest and dearest.
Love and hugs to all.

Happy Birthday Dylan!

Cyn, Merry Christmas!! Did that help? Are you getting some Xmas spirit yet?

I have a free first period today, which is nice after my 4 period day yesterday... I planned to spend this period planning for year 9. I've kinda sorta done that so here I am.

Daily anecdote:
Yesterday year 8 turned into monsters! This is not the 8M class I have at the other school, but yesterday they could have been! I have to say though, they are still not the worst class I have had!

Theresa, how are you doing? Are you still starting squares for your D or have you started on the one you plan to donate? Where is the photo of the one for your FIL??!! How are your feet?

Mamacita, I hope you are getting lots of reading and relaxing time and that you didn't have to cook Thanksgiving dinner!

Gail, I love your Ds artwork! She is amazingly talented! In NSW people studying the course she is studying (I think it's the same one) will have to fork out huge amounts or money next year. The NSW government has decided people who go to TAFE aren't worth investing in. Idiots!

Yesterday we got our 2 seater electrical recliner. The cat thinks it should have the second seat when I am sitting on it!
It came in two HUGE boxes so I have folded them up and the grandkids can make cubby houses with them at Christmas.
I got into some more Christmas shopping today. Pyjamas for some of the grand nieces and nephews and the undies for my family. It is a start but still a long way to go.

Hi folks.
Happy birthday Dylan.
Having trouble getting my head around it being 5 weeks until Christmas..
Have made no plans.. other than to try and find a table to eat off.. that will mean staying home for a change...

That won't be happening anytime soon. In between answering emails from a new on-line friend and trying to charm his pants off I am packing ready for our Spring Retreat...

http://www.africandrumming.com.au/retreats/retreat.htm#prog

Hope we don't scare all the wildlife ... but then drummers are a form of wildlife...

Have enjoyed reading the posts on FB referencing Thanksgiving.. we all have so much to be thankful for.. for starters we are alive and like all of you I am so thankful that I have found you all.
My home away from home.. love you guys..

Broni so glad 'life is good'...
I feel exactly the same.. life just keeps getting better & better.

Even so I have a few big challenges coming up over the next few weeks and it is scaring the life out of me.. now that I have said it I am going back to working on positive outcomes. I may not repeat it because I will no doubt go into a state of denial as soon as we reach December.. need you all to send me healing vibes for the 21st.. I've just lost my GP and have idea how I will cope without him in my court. He has helped me weather many a storm over the last few decades..in particular the last.

Had a few other things I wanted to say but they have all slipped by me now... Back to thinking about and working on the things that are so good about today. Can only live and experience one day at a time. Tomorrow, as we all know, never comes so why stress over it..

Presentation night at the bowling club tonight. I will get two runner up awards.
We will also have a one man band which means we will have some dancing after dinner and the awards.
Belated Happy Birthday to Dylan.
I am sure you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving dinner and are too 'Stuffed Full' to be on here. Yes we do all have many things in life to be thankful for, especially all our SA friends.
Suzy, any chance of you getting some permanent work next year?
Suzy, any furniture we buy now needs to be suitable for 10 years time when we are in our 80's (what a frightening thought!!!)
Bean, so pleased that you have so much going on in your life. You sound so much happier. (and yes we still have the cat)

June - I need that recliner - sounds great. I do have one but it's not electric.
Well probably half the Christmas shopping done - still not much Christmas spirit (only exhaustion). I was standing in Target waiting for Karin to find something and a woman came up near me and said - 'I just can't find my Christmas Spirit' - so I'm not alone. I usually put up my tree on the last weekend in November - suffice to say I'm not bothered yet!

Morning.

Suzy, I finished beginning all the squares for D but I haven't finished the one yet for FIL. My feet started aching again on Tuesday and today they are really sore ... again!

A lot of family upset here (extended family) and I have sort of gone into shut-down mode. My sister and BIL have disinherited their son ... this will definitely come and bite them all in the a$$ eventually.I read on FB that my nephew will be seeing a cardiologist ... don't know what that's about.

D is upset with my other sister's daughter over some accusations involving me. I read the messages to D and I don't blame her for being upset; I was too. So now D wants nothing to do with my niece or my sister, and now she wants nothing to do with my other sister either. Hubby's sister sent a nasty email last week saying we (or should I say mostly hubby) are not doing enough for his parents, especially his dad. Hubby will be spending full weekends with his dad starting this weekend. Hubby's sister feels hubby should take less hours at work and spend more time there. Hubby has tried to get a transfer down in the area where his father lives, but with no luck. That is a very depressed area economically and people are hanging onto their jobs. That city has had some major closures of businesses. So we will go shopping this afternoon and get supplies for hubby to take with him (his dad doesn't even have a coffee maker). Hubby needs to work because we need the money!

I have the grandies before and after school today. Oldest grandie has to change meds for her anxiety disorder because twice she has fallen asleep at school. The last few times I have watched them she has been oh soooooo cranky. I think by now I should be part owner of the Tylenol company.
