Gail, hope you are starting to feel better. Not a good way to spend Mother's day.
I think an early night is on the agenda for me.

Morning all.

Happy Mother's Day to all those celebrating today.

Gail and Broni, hope you're soon feeling better.

June: {HUGS} Laura sounds like quite the little shopper - such thoughtful gifts.

MizT, yay ... you got your hose working. They sure are time and back savers.

Tami, a mother's weekend wouldn't fly here either. I would be happy with just one day!!!!

Well done, Suzy - now get over here and help me with my flower beds -- that's an order, young lady!!! Hugs.

I had an awful day yesterday. Hubby's aunt was totally devastated at the loss of her husband.

First of all we were about 10 minutes late for the funeral. I thought an hour and a half was enough time to get there - I was wrong. The church was packed and we ended up sitting in the balcony. Lunch afterwards in the local public school was put on by the ladies of the church.

Then off to in-laws for Mother's Day celebration. Some celebration - the guys did not plan anything!!!! KFC and only ice cream from in-laws freezer for dessert. And the women went around and set the table, cleaned up afterwards, etc. I was furious and lit into hubby. "This is one day out of the whole year. You know it's coming around the same time every year. Could you not have at least gotten a cake? Would it have hurt to set the table and put the extra chairs out? KFC, really???" I ended up not having anything to eat. I can't eat KFC; I can't eat fried foods. I told huibby to get 2 of each salad and I even wrote it down for him. He came back with 1 of each: "But it said they were the larghe size." To which I said, "What part of 2 don't you understand?" By the time the salads got to me they were pretty well empty.

CAN YOU FEEL THE LOVE???? All in all a very disappointing day. Came home and went to bed.

Hubby is working today and won't be home until 7:30 PM. It's a cloudy day but it's not supposed to rain so I guess I'll work on the flower beds. First another coffee ....

Some people see things that are and ask, Why? Some people dream of things that never were and ask, Why not? Some people have to go to work and don't have time for all that.

Gail, I hope by the time you read this you are feeling better... not a good way to spend mothers day.

June, whoops, didn't mean to steal your comment, just felt the same..

Theresa, your hubby messed up this year, I hope he does better next year. I suspect that you would have been less bothered by it if you had not been having such a hard time for the last several months. Hubby says you should cheat on him to pay him back. Like that will make YOU feel better. MEN!!

I'm just feeling down in the dumps and sorry for myself. Why do I let things like this bother me? I just figured with the 4 guys in the family something could have been planned. As I said to hubby, his mom is looking very frail and might well not be around for another Mother's Day. I guess I'm feeling guilty too because I should have known and I should have planned something. Also hubby paid for the entire meal and only his mom and sister offered to pay, which he refused and rightly so.

Brenda, it's still early here so I haven't heard from my daughter yet. I'm sure she will be in touch with me in a bit.

Got the sloshy thing going.

We did not go to my home town yesterday. On Mother's Day is when I really miss my mom and I just didn't have the heart to go there - too many memories right now.

Onwards and upwards - the weeds await my arrival.

Good Morning Friends. If you do not mind, I am ignoring Mother's Day this year. Wrote a long whine about why, but erased it, no need to dump on all of you who are enjoying your day.

Warm and sunny, headed for hot by afternoon. Will be a AC day later today.

Hugs to all with extras.

Happy Mother's day to all. I hope for those of you not having a good day/weekend things will improve. I am blessed with what I have. Hubby is not the most thoughtful, but he does not forget mother's day. I always get flowers from him and the boys. They usually wake me up by jumping on me in bed but this year they knew I needed to sleep in, and let me.

My parents and brother will be here in about 90 minutes for brunch. Need to get cooking. I actually like making brunch and there are only two things that need to get cooked. The rest is just throw on a plate or in a bowl type stuff. Talk to you all later.

Tami, yoy have mentioned before how much your boys have grown. I guess if they jump on you in bed, it would surely wake you up. Have fun at your brunch.

Theresa.... It sounds like your hubby has studied under the master...IH. That's exactly the sort of thing he'd do.... and has. You have my complete sympathy. And I will give you an alibi when you want it.

Just got up to feed the cat, came to the computer and a message from my niece say she had lost her 14 year old son. No details but for it to happen on Mother's day makes it even worse. I am feeling sick to the stomach.

JUNE, so sorry to hear of the loss of your great nephew. No parent should have to bury a child. I too feel a bit sick to my stomach hearing this, holiday deaths are so hard on the family. Hugs, thoughts and prayers go out to you and the entire family. Such a tragedy. Do keep us informed, and keep coming back here with your thoughts and feelings. We care.

June, I'm still thinking of you and your niece.... my heart is breaking for all of you.

Alie is home from school still sick. I think she did too much this weekend with the performance and then helping out on mother's day.

Thank you for that Suzy. We are no longer real close to my youngest sister and her family (her choice)but I have spoken to her this morning. They were trail bike riding and he went into a tree. It is something both his parents did since they were youngsters and he has done since he could sit on a bike. He was one of the good teenagers, a school captain in primary, joined the air force cadets in high school etc. He will be missed. I had not seen him for about 10 years.

June, my brothers were the same. Les once went under the back of a car - he figured it was better than trying to go through it - and spent 12 months with a pin in his leg. Another time he came off riding alone in the bush and dragged himself on his elbows for 40 minutes until someone heard him calling. A couple of years ago he broke his collar bone. You'd think he would have given up on bikes long ago!! Paul hasn't injured himself on a bike, but now he has a harley who knows?
