I am one of six children, five of them being females. Luckily, I was the baby of the crowd, separated from the rest of the girls by the only boy. The fights my sister's used to have were the stuff of legend!

School is going good this year. She likes the curriculum. It is in a workbook format and she tends to do best with that. How old are your children?

Rolanda, Much the same here. My dog is not used to rain. He wants to go out to chase the possums, then finds out its cold. I stand at the door and wait for him to do his u-turn and come back inside.

Stella, Pioneer is in California near Lake Tahoe
ie East of Sacramento and SF. Linda was flyimg from NZ to Sydney, staying overnight, then straight to SF (about 14 hours) and overnight in SF before going home. Not sure of the exact dates and I have not heard since they were first in Sydney. I am sure she will tell us all about the trip when she gets home and put some photos on her page.

The Lake Tahoe region is very beautiful. That's a long flight! And I thought going to Hawaii from here was long!

We did 22 hour flights to UK with about an hour in Bankok on the way over and in Singapore on the way home. Linda said the flight to Sydney was OK.
Went to a funeral today(greenkeepers wife who I had not met). She was in her 50's and died of the big C. However she had picked the songs for her funeral. She was a Queen's fan and at the beggining they were playing "another one bites the dust". She must have had a wacky sense of humour.

That is a wacky sense of humor. I don't think I would have the guts to play a song like that. However you die, the people left behind are still trying to deal with it and grieve. I wonder how the family felt about it?

Hello from not here!
Just read last posts before turning off. Can't help recalling the funeral of a friend's mother when we were in our mid twenties. She also died of the big C and therefore had planned her own funeral. It was a lovely solemn yet happy memorial to her. As it was time to leave the chapel, the last song played. It was an incredibly upbeat song from many years ago called 'Clap Clap' and it just put a smile to everyone's face as we filed out!
Sorry to butt in then run, just a memory.
Bye.

I don't know if this will come out right typed, and I couldn't figure it out, but here goes.
An interesting statement is coiled in the grid below. To spell it out, start with one letter and move to an adjacent letter in any direction. (hint: start with "F." One null.)
(dashes are to keep the letters separated)

R_S_T_L_I_F_N_A
U_G_I_E_L_I_G_U

On the topic of funerals; my SIL's sister dies the way she lived--with a tremendous sense of humor. the first song played at her funeral was also "Another One Bites the Dust", followed by similar music throughout. She didn't want it to be a solemn affair, but rather a great party celebrating her whacky, fun and humorous life. She died from a "benign" brain tumor.
