d2 made it home okay - quite late but completely oblivious of the fact. She sat in the middle of the bus and didn't even look out!
The conversation went something like 'you're late, did the bus have problems?' 'am I? I don't know.' 'Was there still water on the road?' 'I don't know' 'Did the bus stop anywhere?' 'I don't know'...

Suzy it is always the person at home that does the worrying!! Hope the flood waters soon subside. I lived on a river that was prone to flooding but we were well above the flood level in our home. The village would get surrounded and I can remember many occasions when we were all bused home from high school when the river started rising.

Today I had someone come to do the vacuumimg to make it easier on my back. BUT i spent so much time and energy getting everything moved off the floor my back was worse than if I had done some vacuuming in the first place.
However I would not have got the whole house done and as this is a permanent arrangement once a fortnight it will make me keep the house tidier than I normally do.(and hopefully get rid of some of the rubbish I tend to collect)

Hi Broni, it was OK. A lot of it was jobs that should have been done days ago and if someone who shall remain nameless had got out of bed before 9.30am it would have helped.
Have been resting and now is much better!

How wet are you where you are Broni? We have had a lot of rain again today. Fortunately got three loads of washing dry yesterday.
Have a friend who had damage to her roof weeks ago and with all the heavy rain the main sewer blocked and she had sewage coming up the drain holes and other outlets in the floor. All her carpets etc have had to be removed. She also has buckets to catch water coming through the damaged roof!!

This is the second time I have typed this comment, last time my internet connection dropped. I have now moved on to the desktop pooter which is more stable on the net.

You did the right thing getting someone in to help with the vacuuming June. It's surprising how such a simple (but tedious) job can hurt the back.
I went through my house yesterday, it looked lovely when I had finished, but today looks as if I haven't done anything so I have to start again.
Never mind I am let off cooking tonight as it is my daughter's birthday and we are going out to a steakhouse for dinner

I will pass on your birthday wishes to Elaine. We are actually going to 'The Outback' an Aussie themed steakhouse which is actually an American firm. We go there every so often, but as Elaine is trying to lose weight there is good as they don't smother the food in fattening sauces.

My Brother arrived in Perth safely on Tuesday evening. Don't expect to hear anything from him until he gets back, unless it is to tell me that they are extending their stay.

No school today! We had n ice storm last night and then a little snow on top of it this morning. Most of the schools have a 2 hour delay, but Max's school has kids from all different districts, so they just close. We had so much rain (and thunder and lightning, which is unheard of in winter) that all of the snow was gone and my front yard was flooded. Now, everything is white again! The weather has been so wierd!

Hi Stella, sounds like a very chilly time over in Saratoga. I have just been out into my garden and found a couple of tulips fully in flower. These are far too early. I saw some daffodils flowering the second week of January. Spring seems to be far too early.

Still not done with the tree. Wasn't home yesterday between doctor's appointment, dexa scan, church, and two soccer games, so nothing got done. The day before I spent the day looking for pictures for Brendan for his art class. He needed pictures that showed linear shadows. It took me the entire day to go through just my digital pictures. They take up most of the memory on the laptop! In the end, I don't know if he could even use any of the pictures. He's not very good at art and the fact that he is required to take it, worries me. I wouldn't want a class like that to ruin his gpa!

Brenda, I think nature is getting confused by the crazy weather. I heard a bird calling this morning and I usually don't hear them in the winter. It sounded a little distressed!

Coffee is on!
I am late today. Been up a while, getting hubby ready to get out the door this morning. He has an appointment today. Pack him a lunch, like a school boy hehe, but he is traveling to a remote location, to install computers. Company often brings in lunch for employees and when they do, he is invited to join. BUT they might not, or might bring in something not on his food plan, so I'll send him off with a brown bag today.

Hubby sounds as if he is a busy man. I thought he built those domes MizT.
I was pleased to hear that you came through the tornados unscathed. when I heard they were heading in your direction I hoped you would be ok. Hopefully your electics will not get a repeat of the gremlins you have just sorted out.

Brenda, he does build those domes, but this is our slack time, winter time. So, he works on computers also. Gives him something to do, and brings in a bit of spending money for him. Keeps him out of my hair, he has a reqason to go to his shop every day still heheh

Good morning SA3'ers...not a great day for me....I'm fighting with a headache that just won't quit.
Happy Birthday to Elaine. Enjoy the Outback. Sully and I went to an Outback nearby Tuesday....and my breakfast this morning included the last of my prime rib dinner. Boy, did I enjoy that!
Have a great day all.
