I probably missed you by this () much! Hope all is otherwise well with you and your family. Angelique must be growing by leaps and bounds. How is your granddaughter doing with all of this new responsibility? I'm sure she has a great support group around her!

Angel was a month old on Monday, and she's growing well. Ray spent her birthday in court, trying to get the father involved financally, if he chooses not to do anything else. She does have a good group around her, and she's back in school already...just another year to complete before she has her degree....so all seems well.

June - I bet your friend is more than a bit stressed right now!! With all of the damage others have had, it could take a while to get a tradesman out to fix anything. That will probably be the most frustrating bit for her.

Brenda - I know what you mean about cleaning only to have to do it again! On Wednesday I had the kitchen looking spiffy, only to have two 11 year olds bake a cake and make Ferrero Roche. There was flour, icing sugar, chocolate, rice bubbles, etc etc all over everything!!!

Stella - what year of school is Brendan in? d1 had to do subjects like performing arts, visual arts and technology (everything from cooking to computers) for the first 2 years of high school (7th and 8th grade). She really bombed at performing arts - singing, dancing and playing an instrument in front of people is not what she considers fun!! Here though, it is only the last couple of years of school that matter (in terms of gpa equivalent I mean)

I have the girls joggers standing in front of a heater this morning. It's not cold enough to have a heater on, but the banging and crashing of shoes in the dryer would wake everyone up, and might damage the shoes!! The shoes will have had 2 hours in front of the heater, probably not enough to get completely dry. They might have been a bit drier if the girls had thought to remove their orthotics when they got home last night!!!!

Suzy, have you tried grying shoes with a hair dryer. You can blow the air right into the shoes that way. Only takes a while drying one shoe at a time.
The Water Board is responsilbe for my friends sewage problem (it has happened before) so they are generally pretty quick on the job. We have not been in touch with her for a few days.
Getting the roof fixed, along with hundreds of others in the area will be more of a problem.

Hi all. This is me not here again!
Just a boring old day doing STUFF around the house. Might drag myself out into the garden for a while.
Having afternoon tea with a girlfriend later so that is something positive to look forward to.
Mama, take care of yourself. I had one of 'those' headaches last week. I reckon the only thing worse than going to bed with a headache is waking up the next morning and it's still there!
Stella, get Max to help you with that tree, otherwise you may as well spray paint it green and keep it there ready for next year!

I have not really looked at the news. Did the rain do much damage? Did it get into the catchment area and top up the dams? Unfortunately it will probably increase the humidity
which you do not like

no damage.. other than power poles fires cutting electricity to some homes.. ie mine..
no topping up of the dams either unfortunately.. the ground too dry for run offs..
been good for the garden.. the soil is looking damp instead of bone dry, which no doubt will look dry in no time again !

MAMA, Book Report. I am over half way into the book. This one has been very interesting also. Not as happy with the Prior of Kingsbridge Cathedral, as I was with the previous Prior. But if they were the same personalities, guess that would be boring and not a new book!
Some very interesting twists and turns in this one. I think you will enjoy it.
Book is due back at Library Saturday, no way I shall be finished. I must remember to phone and ask to renew it.

Busy day here MizT, shopping etc. Had to come a differewnt way home as my road was closed by police. I think there was a gas leak somewhere near, offices around the area were evacuated. I have been to pick my youngest up from school (half term holidays start today) and the road is now open.

June, we have water coming thru the walls into the next room.
We did the boys bathroom a couple of years ago, which had the same problem. we only did the shower recess, and new vanity.
Our Ensuite is getting fully renewed. Fortunately with my Hubby being a Cabinet Maker (in our own business) and has lots of contacts.. ie plumber, electrician, tiler.. etc., so the costs wont be $$$'s, it will be slightly less at $$'s.

SA3'ers one and all...so impressed with 'certain people' that are able to rattle off a list of members names.......
Not surprised to find Gail pretending not to be here when she should be doing other things....recognise that behavior trait in myself!!
Lots of reading to do to catch up in the few days I've been away from the site....been so busy and knocked up [as in tired] after work that I've not even been able to complete the easy. Fell asleep on it!

Have, made a VERY interesting discovery over the last few days - headaches hadn't been nearly as bad/frequent as usual...wondering whether there is a link between them and toooooooo much time online! Might be time for an eye check me thinks!!
Can't believe the amount of rain that is falling along the eastern coast but still managing to miss out on Melbourne and much of Victoria.
Glad to hear that there has been a decent fall in the west.
June - good news about the cleaner. That is what I need to help me keep things a bit tidier!! My place is far toooo messy to get a cleaner in!! Now I bet that is ringing a bell or two in Cockatoo....he he...
