Bravo network here has a reality show called Top Chef on which young chefs cook in competition with each other. The new season began last night, and one of the chefs is a nice-looking young man from New Zealand. The contestants were told to bring a bag of supplies, and in NZ's bag was a jar of Megemite (sp). Someone saw it, referred to it as Vegemite, and he said it was yeast extract and magic in the right hands. He used it on his first challenge, a pizza, and won. It wasn't called for in his second dish and he didn't fare so well. I was rather tickled just to know about the stuff from y'all. Thanks, SA3.

, Everyone! It's just after midnight here, and time to head towards bed. I just wanted to pop in and say hello and wish everyone the best for the next few days. Our schedule is looking quite packed, so I may miss a few days here. If I find a spare minute or 2, I'll pop in and say Hello! Happy almost spring! (We can finally see some of the grass! Hooray!)
Take care, Everyone, and behave!

Just a quick visit because the pooter room is getting waaay too hot!
Becky, last night we had the Stuffed Pork Chops. I must say they were the moistest pork chops I have ever had. We all really enjoyed them. Had it with a potato bake and steamed vegies, meant to do some sauteed apple rings but forgot! Thank you very much for the suggestion and the receep.

I thought I had posted this morning, but apparently not. guess that is what I get for thinking!

Dull, grey, cloudy, damp, misty, rainy, cool, breezy kind of a miserable day, and it is in the 50's! Would think it was a cold winter day the way that damp is creeping into old bones today.

Hello everyone! Visiting my mom today for her 84th birthday.
Mom! Wishing you a wonderful day!
Max is marching in his first parade tomorrow for St. Patrick's Day down in Albany. I'm heading back home in the morning to catch the parade. I hope the weather holds out and they get all the stuff together that they need to march without me there.
Have a great day!

It's Saturday and hubby has gone to TAFE/school. We are supposed to be going out to celebrate our anniversary tonight because he will be at TAFE again on our actual anniversary (St Pats day). Not sure how awake he will be after getting up before 6 and possibly not getting home until 6 tonight....

WEATHER WATCH, once again. did I happen to mention I HATE NIGHT TIME T STORMS? I know, this is getting old, same ole same, but I just heard, this year, we have had 6 weekend, nightime, weather episodes, and i think there have been 4 weekends in a row.

Georgia, next state east and they get our weather half a day behind us, got our rainy day as a severe T storm this evening, and some kind of wind hit the Georgia (sports area) Dome during a college basketball game. bits and pieces of the awnings and facade fell into and outside the dome, but the building is still intact. No injuries, thankfully.

The next system shall be arriving at THREE AM, in my area. Hope it is just rain and no damaging winds tonight.

Maen Sudokuland, coffee is ready, join me for a cup today.

HAPPY ST PATRICK's DAY to everyone. It seems today is the offical day, as the Catholic Church changed the day for observation. Otherwise, St Pat's Day would fall on Holy Monday.

Kitty Cat story.

Yesterday hubby was in the storage building for something, I do not remember what. Screech followed him in, but would not come out when he was ready to leave. Hubby shut the door, leaving her inside, and came to the house for lunch. Figured if she were in there a bit, she would be happy to come out when he returned.

We finished lunch, and he went to back porch for a smoke. There was Phantom to greet him, and he was most insistant in his greeting. Then he starts trying to " herd' him, wants him to move. Cat walks a few steps away, and looks back in the classic kitty look that asks "are you following me?" Since he has not done this before, hubby decides to follow and see what's what.

Phantom leads him toward the storage building. As they get closer, hubby sees Screech cat on back legs at the glass, looking out and meowing, in a panic to get OUT. Phantom could not get her out, so, he came for Daddy to do it!

Smart Kitty.

MizT., I'm glad to see you this morning. I know you got hammered again last night. It's supposed to get here about 2:00pm(It's noon now).
That Phantom is a keeper. If he knows the "Timmy is in the well" trick. he's just like Lassie.
I've got to go batten down a couple of hatches. Stay safe.

RUBY, we did not get anything bad overnight. Went north of us, and again this morning. I posted about that, but looks like it did not get to the board. Maybe lost in cyber space? OR, did I post it on EASY? Well, I am sleep deprived, that is my story . . .

Tornado watch again today, our air is warm and juicy and windy, so we are keeping a weather eye open. at least it is daytime, and I do not have to STAY AWAKE OVERNIGHT to monitor it.

My emergency bag is still packed, (cash, checkbooks, medications, minimal personal care items, things you wod NOT want to do without if house blown away) my raincoat at the ready, I have on my trusty crocs which are great for wading through water if nescessary.

Temp is 78 and climbing, and SPRING is busting out all over! I see buds opening on some of the early trees, my plum tree has a few open buds, one Pear tree is almost full bloom, some varities of grass is getting green, and we have tornado warnings and watches, yep, it is offically spring here! Still looking for the dogwoods, have not seen one of them in bloom yet, and they are ALWAYS in bloomm for Easter here, no matter how early or how late Easter falls.

Back again - Ruby it's casual work helping to write procedures and convert some from one format to another. The procedures are called SWMS - Safe Work Method Statements, and we call them 'swims'. I'm working for a water company this time, so I call it "swimming for water"

it is a beautiful day in the neighborhood, lets slip on a light jacket and sit outside in the sun with our coffee this morning. You Yanks from northern states can come in your shorts or bikini for sunbathing hehehe. Temp is 54 and climbing, low humidity, light breeze and a SUN, lots of nice sunchine!

The grass turned green over night! the Bermuda variety that is, we have that in back and side yard. Front centipede lawn in front is always a bit later greening. ONE of the pear trees is in full bloom, lovely. I see buds opening on all the other kinds of trees, they have a grey or light green haze about the top most branches. Spring is busting it's britches!!

OH DEAR, greening grass is going to mean mowing will be in order again soon. YIKES, with the price of gasoline, I may have to get sheep to mow my grass. Wonder if Ray Ray has a spare sheep or 2 to rent out for the summer??

Someone asked about spring being the real tornado season, cause we had so many this winter already. yes, this was an unusual winter, we were much warmer here than usual, and the northern states were often much colder than usual. so when they shared some of thier cold air with us, it collided with mosit, warm air, and set about T storms and some small tornadoes. Spring brings on the possibility of larger, more destructive ones, and they often come in what is called an "outbreak" where one tornado follows another and another and another.

The one that hit Atlanta downtown was rated as an EF1, that is on the low end of the scale. I am so thankful it was not a 4 or a 5.

It is a beautiful spring day, indeed, MizT. We lucked out on the storms last night, but I don't think Columbia where Cyndi lives (I wish she'd come back.) was so fortunate. Let's hope everyone has a day as splendid as this.
