Gail you day out sounded great, that's the sort of thing we like to do. Hopefully this year the weather will be kind to us and we will get out and about.
The UK has severe weather warnings out for Monday and Tuesday. We are expecting winds up to 80mph in the south (where I am). Will cross fingers and hope not too much damage is done.

Well, I will not be sure what time it really is for about 3 weeks. My puter did not make the change. I think it's clock still is set for the changing at the OLD time. Hummm, had this same problem during Fall back, and hubby never resolved it for me. I shall go and manually set clock , but as I remember that does not stay. Oh well, it does not really matter if I know wht time it is. I go to bed when sleepy, wake up when I have slept long enough, and eat when I am hungry. Only thng I need clock for is to catch up with a favorite TV show and NOT to make a trip to town too late to go to bank hehe.
That is life in the slow lane for today,
Tricia, seeing sunshine today yippee

everyone. I have been around, just haven't had much time lately. I catch up on all the posts and then it's time to get on with the day. I had to go to the coast with hubby. When he bought his work truck, he left his pick-up down there. He didn't want to take the bus down and I guess he wanted me to have a break. Had a great time. Amber has finished one year of school work and is starting the next. Spring is slowly taking over. I can see almost half of our lawn. It gets quite muddy on the other side of the house and the dogs are always tracking it in.
The one thing I hate about spring. Poor Amber was quite upset the other day because everything was melting.
She really loves winter. I have had a nice relaxing Sunday morning and now I think I shall go get STUFF done. Miss you all.

I think I have tricked my computer. It SAYS it will update for daylight savings, but it will do it in 3 weeks. So, I told the computer it was now in the EASTERN time zone, sent it on a virtual vacation hehe, It geta 3 week holiday and I get correct time on my computer. So many ways to do the same thing on a computer

Rena, did I understand correctly that Amber is half a year ahead in her school work? Wow! I'm not sure if Aussie kids could get away with that unless they were home schooled. Having said that, d2s school is very small so all of the classes are combination classes (d2 is in 4/5/6 combo) and one little girl who should be in Year 3 has been put in Year 4 and is doing Year 6 spelling words. But she still would only get the work at the same rate as the rest of the class...

Suzy,
Amber is currently behind in her school. We switched from correspondence type to a curriculum I mark and keep track of. Nothing to send in. The placement test put her at a lower grade than she should be. She is dyslexic and we weren't getting any help from the teachers in the other programs. We will be doing catch-up for a couple more years.

Good Evening All...Been busy shopping and getting ready for my big trip....hoping to be able to meet
We have experienced heavy rain and wind storms up with a few sudokuholics in Europe...but many are already booked...however some cracks are appearing and some of us just might get to enjoy a cuppa...or at the least a telephone convo. We have experienced heavy rain and wind storms, lightening, thunder, and floods in the area...many have lost power...but very little snow thankfully!Temps have gone up and down...this is the period of change..just hope it decides which way its going to go. Time to walk the doggie..... catch you later...peace

That's hard. Is she primary school (elementary) or high school level? I hope primary school so there is less to catch up on!!!! Kudos, bows, and awe from me for taking on the challenge. I've seen parents complain but do nothing about it. You are to be admired....

My niece is currently travelling around Oz with her parents. She is attempting to study by correspondence but is finding it really hard. They say they are just starting to get the hang of it after 4 weeks. I think they were even thinking of coming home if they couldn't work it out. I've offered help via email, but they don't always have access to that in the wilds of Oz.

Good morning all! Cold, 15*F, but we got all rain and ice. Looks like you got buried Becky! Hope the snow is now manageable. Just north of here, it turned cold so fast on Saturday that they ended up with 1 1/2 inches of ice on top of the snow. The area is crippled and it knocked out cable here from Saturday night to Sunday noon. I don't think they have power up there yet and the news crews couldn't even get into the town because it is on a hill and the roads were so icy that they couldn't be driven on. I heard this morning that their schools are still closed up there.

Good Morning All. Stella, I am getting excited since I only have a couple of weeks to go. No, I've never been to Europe and didn't really have much interest for awhile...but boy has that changed....I just wish I hadn't waited until our dollar is trading so low against the euros....it does limit the buying power...lol, plus the airline restrictions make it cheaper to buy on the Internet rather than in person.

Sudokuland. I did not sleep in, but I had to WORK today, yuck. hubby needed help and I was it. Computer stuff, OK, not bad, but I did have to turn off MSN messenger and not get on Sudokuland today, bummer.
I just caught up on SA3, HI to all, and Mama hope you have a good time getting ready for your trip. the anticipation is a fun part of it for me, how about you.
Rena, glad Amber is doing well in her schooling. You just might get caught up soon, she seems to be doing well.
My grandson who is dyslexic was in one of the "programs" for children with special needs, but it was not working out for him. The lady in charge of all speial ed programs of school distric came to his planning meeting, heard my Daughter state problems he was having ( teachers not giving him extra time by assigning him reading a week in advance) and other problems. they changed his prigram, and she met with all his teachers "to straighten them out". They also have some computer program and equiptment that will "read" to him, it was bought for sight impaired, but she said if they could find someone to teach him how to operate it, he would have access to that at school. You scan in anyting written, and it reads to you. she said there is also software that must be liscened to each computer that would let him download it to his lap top, ( nope, he do not have one yet, but that is a possibility) and they are looking into that, so he can scan in at school and then have it read to him later. Probably in car on way to and from sports, a good way to multitask. I hope it works out for him.
Well, he went to first class for machine, noone showed up to teach him, so he turned it on and had it running when a teacher came in to try to help him. He is very computer literate, so, now he can use and they also want him to teach others how to use it. Part of his community service, they must have 20 hours service to graduate. He already has over that, and only 10th grade.

Morning all, hi Rolanda, best to keep out of the heat today! Off to buy a new dishwasher, fed up with having to open and shut three times, then kick the bottom of the door then press start! (It won't start without all that carry on). Another new shopping centre opened in Armadale last Tuesday. I think we have more shops that people. Byeee

Hi all.
Stella, spent yesterday digging out some of our neighbors. About half are elderly and we didn't want them out there.
It's official, we got 20 1/2 inches of snow with this storm. The weatherman said that the last time this much snow fell at one time was during the Civil War.

Cyndi, happy belated anniversary.
Brenda, hope your son has a good time. The closest I got to New York was the Statue of Liberty. We debated on whether or not to go to the twin towers, but we had a pre-wedding party to go to and didn't go.

Mamacita, hope you have fun in Europe. I tried your new puzzle, but on the one level I couldn't find the yellow button. Was that the problem you ran into?
Rolanda and Lynda, our dishwasher hardly ever breaks down, can be a little reluctant, but eventually gets the job done. As you've probably guessed, it's me.

I wished I had taken pictures of our dog. He loves the snow. During the storm, he'd go out and just stand and look around. When he came in, he had so much snow on him that his coat looked white. While we cleared driveways and sidewalks, he'd run and leap through it. When he got tired, would just lay down and watch.
