I never liked the dentist. You could actually say I'm afraid of the dentist. Of course, the dentist I had as a child was indicted recently for fraud for drilling holes in peoples' teeth to get the insurance money, so that could explain it!!

Dino, yes, if more could coooperate around the world, things would improve. Thanks for the kind words about the quilt, it was tough at times doing it. I was in charge of finding the names and dividing them amoungst the 5 persons who were writing them on the quilt. Reading the list, seeing families with children listed together, was heart wrenching!

We saw "Bourne Ultimatum" yesterday and it was the best movie I've seen in a while. It kept you riveted and at the edge of your seat from the moment it started, right to the end!

At the age of five I went to the dentist for the first time. He was a miracle worker. He told me that if that tooth hurt again, come back and he would snatch it out. Miraculously, it never hurt again.

Dino, what a great use of the yoghurt! I do not like the too sweet ones either, but bit of flavoring and sweet if OK.

Stella, sorry the weather did not cooperate for your anniversary celebration! The movie sounds good. I shall put on my list to rent when it comes out. We have not been to a movie in forever! I much rather see it at home, so if I miss something, can rewind and catch it hehehe, it is also god for potty or snack breaks. love the pause button,

We get the newshour with John Lehrer here. It is heart wrenching when they show, in silence, some of the soldiers who have died. And then there are all the Iraqis, too. And people all over the world dying unnecessarily. Everyday I am thankful that I live in a country where a sore knee can be replaced and where I can walk along the beach safely, and the government gives me enough for essentials.

We don't go to the movies very often, only a couple of times a year. Usually we see something that would go over better on the big screen, like Bond movies or Harry Potter.

MizT, I didn't have a problem last time I uploaded, but that was some time ago. I hope you solve the problem 'cos I'd love to see the close up. It could be a server problem, if not one that Gath can fix. Can you upload to Flickr?

I don't know if Gath is around. I put a question on the question page because I wanted to know how he put the personal pictures on his page, but he never answered. I want to get rid of Flickr. Ever since I got that message from the guy on Flickr, it gives me the creeps.

Yes, Dino, we are among the most fortunate of people. I was reading about some new use of an old plant, forget the name, grows in tropical countries and used as a living fence to protect crops. they have seeds that are more easily turned into bio fuel. BUT in following links, I saw how terribly poor so many persons were in these countries growing this plant! to have a source of a fuel they could make at hand from somethng that was not being utilized, could give them light and a way to cook, and it was life changing for them!

Dino, yes, I did upload the photo I have on flickr, and I could put it there. It is just, if I put it on gallery, it would be on the page as MOAT RECENT and noone would have to go and hunt it . I will put it on flicker for anyone wanting to see it, they can go find it :>)

Biofuel is a fancy word for moonshine. It's not hard to make.

RUBY, this biofule was not alcohol, but oil. It was being made for modified oil lamps and for a oil cooker they adapted to make it work.

MizT, My brother has been trying to start a business making paper from something other than wood, like wheat stubble. But he has not been able to get finance for it.

In Australia we have native fruits with very high food value, but so far, no-one interested in turning them into a crop. And hemp is cheaper and better quality than cotton. (the story there is that the cotton business stopped the manufacture of hemp).

And so on. We are very wasteful.

So sorry to have missed you all. Just returned home from attending D#3's mentor program graduation. We are extremely proud of her. Unfortunately, her mentor was unable to be there so our daughter got up by herself to show and speak about the project they had worked on and did very well.

Thank you Julie for continued wishes for D#2. She was enough of a pia to make me think she is on the mend but one never likes to see their kids unwell.

Congrats to your daughter for doing a great job, Gail!

Right now they are showing the Ground Zero ceremonies for 9/11. I remember watching it all happen live on TV. I think it is something you never forget.

My brother was on his way to work near there but was running late. My neice was in college in NYC and was babysitting(the building had to be evacuated) at the time. My cousin worked in the Twin Towers but he had worked very late the night before so he was going in late. His brother was supposed to have a meeting there that morning but at the last minute it got postponed. My brother's old trading firm had there offices in there and he knew many of the people who who killed from that firm. ( he opened his own trading firm in NJ 9 months before) It always amazes me on how close to home that attack occurred.

Yes dino, we have much to be thankful for. I give thanks every day for the simple things that we take for granted, like being able to walk down the street to buy a paper of my choice, without having to dodge stray bullets. For having a home. Freedom to say and believe what I want, when I want. I have never agreed that the answer for the killings is more deaths. When will it all end. Sorry, soapbox over!

Stella, the attacks happened very late, our time. I had fallen asleep on the couch next to hubby who was watching something quite dull when the news flashed on the TV. He tried to wake me but slept on. When we went to work the next day, it was in a state of shock. We took a TV into the factory, it was something you just couldn't take your eyes off. So unbelievable.

When I think of the events of 9/11, the panic and the pain are still very fresh. The phones were all clogged up and you couldn't through anywhere. I guess that's why I try not to think of it. How do you stop the crazy people of the world and what do you do when a crazy person is in power in a country and is virtually holding the human race hostage. (e.g. Hitler, Mussolini, Idi Amin, etc.)
How does that saying go, evil triumphs when good men do nothing. Killing more people is not the solution, but how do you help in these situations.
