I'd go nuts without a car. Being alone doesn't bother me, but I have got to have a car. Otherwise, it sounds lovely.

Maybe skipping the coffee this morning would help. I always have to have ginger ale, chicken noodle soup and soda crackers (although the soup isn't what it used to be).

RUBY, I had chicken soup and soda crackers for last night's dinner! graduated to coffee this morning. which reminds me, I need to put the coffee pot on here, and offer morning coffee. I told you I am unusual, coffee settles my tummy. It will stay down when nothing else will!

NOW, that is better, coffee is ready, would you like a cup ruby??

MizT, glad you're feeling better. There's a gastric wog in my part of the world, too, but so far I've avoided that. I'm celebrating 'cos off the crutches and an all clear from my surgeon.

Good morning Ruby and MizT! MizT, it sounds like you had a bit of food poisoning. Most "bugs" are not viral. When it is food poisoning, the cause can stay in your system for a while and then rear its uglyness when you eat something that triggers it. My daughter had a bout of it last year. For a week she kept getting sick. It was at the point where she would have to go to the hospital. Then an emergency room nurse told me to give her a couple of tablespoons of apple cidar vinegar. I did and it worked. It burns going down, but the apple cidar vinegar kills the bad bacteria, ecoli, solmonila, etc. We use it all of the time now. Some people can be exposed to those things with barely a blip on their radar, but others, like me and my daughter, are very sensitive, and the slightest contaminant sends our system into chaos. If I even suspect something wasn't cooked right or may be contaminated, I take a spoonful of it. So if you continue to feel like you are holding it at bay, then try a spoonful.

Thanks for the advice, Stella. I'll remember that one for the future. Regular yogurt is a good protection, too.

I'm getting better everyday, but still get impatient that its not a quicker process. Ho hum. Patience is not one of my virtues. Can get down the track to the beach with just a walking stick and walk about 250 meters before turning and going home. That's OK for Merlin. He still gest a chance to chase the seagulls.

When my dentist was in the eighth and ninth grades he had me for his English teacher. He was not too tall, thin, very fair, blond, blue-eyed, and nice looking. One afternoon after school, I was going to help him with some project. He went to his locker to get his things and came back into the room holding one hand in the other, barely dripping blood. Before I could ask him what had happened, his eyes rolled back, his color drained and he was going down. I caught him so his head wouldn't hit the floor.
Twenty some years later, I found myself sitting in his dental chair. The first thing I asked him was if he still passed out at the sight of blood. He said only his own made him faint, mine wouldn't bother him at all.
I've been going to him for over ten years now, and he's the best dentist I've ever had. He has really worked on giving the shots as painlessly as possible, and I don't think anyone could do any better. I just love him, and, goodness knows, that hard to say about a dentist.

HI STELLA and DINO. I shall try the vinegar. Just in case. Althugh Al and i have eaten the same meals, esact. I know, mine could have a contaminate and his portion not, but i carefully cook all meats, and use safe handeling practices. Not sure I can do straight vinegar, but diluting with equal parts water should not hurt it.

I did the yogart part, love my yougart and yes, it has the live cultures.

Yes, I have yogurt every day and I talked my mom into having it too. She couldn't stand the taste of yogurt but she kept having problems. With her severe osteoporosis, it was not good to have those kind of problems.

The dentist I went to as a child was the sort who thought you ought to tough it out. My dentist these days has a meditation room next to his surgery and a little Zen garden outside the surgery window. I'm still apprehensive about going! Early conditioning seems to hang around for a long time.

DINO, congrats on graduating to the cane! I consider that lovely progress! healing takes time and you can be as impatient as you want, just try to do just enough exercise and not too much!

RUBY, cute dentist story! I thought we had lost you there. It took a bit more than a couple of minutes for that post to come through!

I decided not to post yesterday because hubby took off work so we could spend the day together for our 24th anniversary. The weather never cleared like it was supposed to, still hasn't, so we went to the movies and had a really nice day.

I taught next to a woman who had astoundingly high blood pressure. When it zoomed upward, she took a spoonful of vinegar.

While i was still housebound, a friend brought me some yoghurt, but it was a very sugary commercial one that I disliked. To get rid of it I put it into pancakes instead of milk. Delicious!
