Nola, good idea. You are so far ahead I think you deserve a break.

I have one child at home with a cold, and the other at school with the remnants of a cold and a twisted ankle... She said 'I seem to be catching everything that goes around'. I said - start eating your veges and breakfast!!

Related to the Ebob story - Ally tells me they call her (Ally) a 'choc top' at school - dark on the outside, blonde on the inside.

Good Late Afternoon, fellow Sudokuaholics!

Hello, Heidi, CynB, Gail, Suzy, Victoria, MizTricia, Broni, Theresa, Nola, and Tami!

CynB, I'm glad all the rain water was able to drain away from the house! I'm hoping the repairs could be done to the house quickly and not too expensively!

Gail, so glad to hear that things at your house are calming down a bit! Sending positive vibes that all is well!

Victoria, what wonderful news for your hubby! I hope he enjoys his new job!

Suzy, it's good news that Ebob is feeling better, but not so good that she decided to share her cold with Ally!

MizTricia, here's hoping that your hand will SOON be feeling better! Take care of yourself! I'm glad your second bout with snow didn't materialize and you only had a dusting!

Heidi, I hope you enjoyed the training class! I think I've counted 5 new calves. How many are you expecting? I'm glad neither Robert or his van were harmed when he went off the road!

V Viv, I'm so glad your weather seems to be improving!

Theresa, wish I could send you a bit of energy, but today I don't seem to have any extra to share! Our oldest grandie is 4. Luckly she hasn't guess my age, but she has asked me why I "walk like this" (demonstrating a waddle). That's one of the things I really worked hard on with my therapy. I do NOT want to walk with a waddle with my new knees! (Keep in mind,100 may seem like just a few years older than 17 to a 6-year-old!)

Nola, it's good to see you again today! Hmmm, I wonder why you might be tired? Course work, a 14-hour shift. It makes a good bit of sense to need a bit more sleep, I think!

Oh, Suzy, just tell Ebob and Ally that we're ALL allowed our blonde moments!

Heidi, I hope you enjoy your Cattlemen's meeting! I know you'll be out checking for calves sometime this evening! Stay warm!

Decided I better change avatars. Since we had another couple of inches of snow last night, I figured I'd join Heidi with a snowflake. Wish I could send some snow to V VIci!

Good morning lovely people - oh dear, I've forgotten everything I read.
Theresa - my daughter had her kids fooled for years that she was 22 but now they are 11 & 9 they can't be fooled any more. And since they went to my 60th party, they are well aware of how old I am now (62). Darnit!
Heidi - hope the cow and calf are alright.
Suzy - I used to have a boss, where if I said anything slightly dumb, he'd look at me, shake his head and say 'Cynth, You should have been a blonde'. And look at you, blonde and smarter than most of us, me in particular.
Still raining here this morning.
Hi to Julie, Nola, Tami, Broni etc - have a nice day all.

I'm back from picking up Ebob from school. I told her not to go!! She won't listen to me, but when her Physics teacher told her to go home she listened to him! Sigh. She's worried about missing too much work.

Hi everyone, just popping in quickly, skimmed throught the news - sorry about the colds, hope they're over soon.
I'm supposed to be ringing the doctor's for an appointment - don't know why I keep putting it off ... unless it's because I hate being prodded and poked! Oh well, guess I'd better get it over and done with! Have a great day everyone. :)

Julie, I have a friend who had problems with her knees for years. I wouldn't call it a waddle - call it a limp! I used to marvel at her as she always wore high heels.

Cyn, I used 29, until hubby threw a surprise 40th for me.... you should have heard them, they asked me questions about my age all night - so I told them their dad was 9 years older than me - served him right!

Hi everyone, I actually have work to do today - it's payday for us and for our suppliers.
Gail you asked yesterday about hubbys shoulder. It was ok until he started work again and the repetitiveness of driving trains started it aching again - that's also part of the reason for the new job as there is little or no driving involved. He is gradually building up the strength however it may never be fully functional again. His main problem is lifting higher than shoulder level.

Suzy the difference between boys and girls is amazing. My two sons wouldn't have been worried about missing out on school work. They would have been more concerned with missing time with their mates.
#2 son - James - had the day off work yesterday to go with his mate B to court. B was picked up drink driving in Noosa in January. He blew .19!
The result - 12 months without a licence and $1200 fine or 80 hours community service. He also lost his job - he was a courier driver - because he was driving the work van at the time. At nearly 21 you would think he would have learnt a thing or two but they all believe they are invincible.

Vicki - do you think he's learnt a thing or two, now? I hope so.
But so many don't, and many just ignore the licence ban and drive unlicenced.

Drinking and driving is so well publicized that there's really no excuse any more. I can remember as a teenager (many, many years ago) it was almost acceptable. When I think back on some of the stunts that I pulled as a teenager, it's a wonder I'm still alive.

Suzy... limping with both knees IS waddling.

It was a short meeting, so I'm home early. The first thing I did was grab a flashlight and go check on the newest calf. She was standing next to mama, nursing, when I got out there. I then walked the pasture and checked the other cows. No new calves.

Yikes Victoria - .19!! He has a death wish! Hubby was horrified a few weeks ago when the car load of teenagers died - speeding while drunk - and alcohol was left with all the tributes. No clue at all...

Suzy - seen that before - a cross at the side of the road marking where a person/persons died and alcohol amongst the flowers. Kids do think they're invincible.
Theresa - I have the horrors when I recall that my first husband and I used to go to friends places, drink all evening, drive home across town with our son on the seat between us, our daughter on my lap and NO seatbelts. The dangers of drink driving were not publicised like they are now, nor was it policed.
We were lucky!

I'd like to think he has learnt his lesson but boys really live "in the moment". Here's hoping that 12 months without his licence may be a good reminder in the future. Until that time is up he is riding his bike to the station to get to TAFE or relying on his mates for a lift.
I can remember driving home from parties and nightclubs when I shouldn't have been behind the wheel at all. With age comes wisdom (or perhaps a better idea of what is really stupid and dangerous!).

I drove home drunk one time when I was supposed to be pulling up a bit of floor at a friend's house. There was a guy there who was giving me the kind of attention that I didn't want, so I drove myself home. I met him again when we were both sober and he turned out to be a really nice guy - we dated for 2 years and are still friends.

Okay, wasn't going to do this, but they seem to work so well I'm going to ask for some SA vibes to go out to Mum. She is currently checking into a hotel near the hospital so she can go in for her surgery tomorrow. She is having a second hip replacement. (other side).

I haven't had an opportunity to speak to James about the court case yet. James knows he can't get to work without a licence - No licence = no job! Our biggest concern is that he will get stopped one morning and be asked to blow in the bag. Thank goodness he has decided to join alcohol free February.

Haven't done a puzzle for so long I wonder if my brain is still capable...could someone let me know if 'Halloween Downunder' comes up...would hate to miss those.

Please send some of the rain south top enders... The last rain here was so torrential that it all ran off...I want some gentle drizzle that will soak in. Was good to have the pool topped up tho!!

Glad calving is going well Heidi.

49 is a good year Suzy...neither too old or too young...good place to settle in for eternity methinks...
BTW...receive your email but outlook has been on the blink and haven't been able to reply...if you change your mind let me know...

Talking about outook...Lachie changed our protection to AVG...for some reason that became the end of all emails. Have now got it working on the laptop ...which also uses AVG for protection so go figure...

Anyway..to cut a long story short...I have NO addresses on the laptop other than those of people that have contacted me this week. To save me laboriously typing in all your addresses could you please send me an email and I can then just 'click' to enter you in my address book. Serendipity or what? Clean out all the old addresses that you never use...

Dogs are eating, and Rain's accidents are cleaned up. Once they're done with suppers, I'll go out to do another cow check. In 3 to 4 hours, I'll get up and check again. The 8 am cow check is done by IH.
