Hello, CynB, Suzy, Judy, Victoria, Theresa, Heidi, Bean and Broni!

CynB, I hope the rain has subsided or ended for now and you are having a more pleasant afternoon!

Suzy, maybe it was important to Ebob to have a teacher/teachers see her as so dedicated to school and learning that she didn't stay at home when she was sick?

Judy, I hope you were able to reach the doctor's office for an appointment. (Nothing serious, I hope!)

Victoria, I hope your son's friend will realize WHY he shouldn't drive drunk and never let it happen again! Hopefully your son will take the lesson to heart!

Suzy, I'm sending lots of warm hugs, positive vibes and prayers for you AND your Mum! I hope all goes well with her surgery and her rehab afterwards!

Bean, also sending warm hugs & positive vibes to you! I hope you can soon find just the right combination to feel better!

Heidi, it's good to hear that IH takes a turn with the calf checks! I don't think we're due to get above freezing any day this week. I'm glad you will!

And now, it's off to bed for me!

He pretends to do a cow check. He stands in the driveway, and if he sees nothing going on, he acts like everything is OK. I go into the pasture and look at every cow and calf. IH has been known to step over a cow dying of milk fever (calcium deficiency that happens with heavy milkers) and ignoring her. Milk fever is probably the most dramatic recovery a Vet can produce. As long as there's the tiniest spark of life... the cow can be comatose... and she gets some IV calcium, she hops right up and looks like nothing happened to her.... all in under 10 minutes.

Just tried to have a video call with June, no luck. She said she will be posting here before heading to Jordan in 2 hours, internet is very expensive there so don't expect to hear much.

Suzy, my thoughts will be with you and your mother tomorrow.

Today hubby has had a burst of energy and we have rearranged our bedroom...it never ceases to amaze me how much bigger a room seems from a different perspective. Mind you, it could be because of the dozen wash baskets of stuff we took out...I have let things slide over the last few weeks, god what a mess!

Sometimes we need to let things slide, Gail. After all, they're just "things" and need to be kept in their proper perspective.

Hi everyone.
Heidi can IH do the checks in the night to give you a break? or is that a silly question?
Good wishes going your Mum's way Suzy.
Hi Gail, I have let things slide here too but am feeling better than I have been.
June you will be looking forward to returning home so you can put your feet up.
Welcome Victoria and Hi Broni and Julie.
Better hit the sack here.
Avon deliveries the next two days.

Very silly question, V Viv. I am a night person, he's a morning person. There is no way that he'd ever get up at night to check MY animals.

Heidi, how many of last years calves will you sell? Hope you have a warmer day today, I will try to send some of our expected warm up your way.

I have just read about 4 pages. NO WAY I can type answers to all I read. Suzy, hope all goes well with your Mom. Broni and Vicki, hope you got home after the flooding. BTW Welcome Vicki, good to see you here. CYN hubby said the hardest thing he ever had to learn about being in business was when to walk away from a customer. Took him long enough to get to that point! Glad noone was injured when the tree slipped, that can be so dangerous.

OK, hand says that is it for now, sorry If I did not get to you today, but I read and thought appropriate thoughts {smile}.

We're selling 24 of them. A buddy of IH's had committed to buy them earlier, and went back on his word. We normally send them out to the feedlot in Kansas, but when this guy pleaded with us to let him have them, we passed up the opportunity to ship them. So we were stuck with 24 extra mouths to feed. And you have no idea how much they can eat. Way over a ton of hay A DAY!

Time to put away my cupid for another year! I had forgotten to do that.

Heidi, I did not think you had year old calves when the new ones were born last year. That explains a LOT. Not nice of him to go back on a verbal agreement!!

Done working them, and I'm exhausted. Now I have to drive up to the Pain Management Clinic for a meds pick up. That's almost an hour each way.

Good morning all.
Heidi, I'm exhausted just reading all the things you do during a day without having to get up to check cows all night long! I know I wouldn't cope on a farm at all. We have a show here called "The farmer wants a wife". I'd be one of the rejects for sure.

I still need to figure out something for supper. Don't have much in the house.

Vicki... My whole life has revolved around animals, since I was a baby. (My first word was not mama or dada, but "horse".) I can think of no other lifestyle for myself. Yes, there's work, but the rewards are worth it. To me, each birth is a miracle that I get to witness repeatedly, and sometimes participate in. I just love watching the animals, and learning from them. And the dogs give me unconditional love.

Congratulations Rolanda ... great aunts are like grandparents, we get to spoil them. Congrats also to your number 1 son!
Glad you made it home safely Heidi. I know exactly how you feel about your animal friends. I secretly feel that there must be something suspect about someone who doesn't like animals at all. I love them all but have never had the opportunity to do what you're doing. So let me say thank you for doing more than your share for the animal kingdom.

Rolanda, congratulations on future grand niece/nephew #7.
I love it when the nieces and nephews are becoming parents. I love being able to buy something for the new baby - it's all so cute. We are now great aunt & uncle to 17 with the latest arrival in December. Unfortunately most of ours live in Sydney and Canberra (with 4 currently in Hong Kong) so we don't get to see them very much.

Good morning lovely people!
Suzy - thinking of you and your Mum today. Let us know when you have some news, you know how we wait and worry!
Rolanda - congrats to Robert and also on your prospective great niece/nephew. If you and Vicki get this excited now, imagine when you hear you're going to become grandparents! Nothing like it - and this is coming from someone who was blase about the prospect before it happened!
Heidi - I have nothing but admiration for you and the care and love you give your animals. I would like to think that one day your efforts will be rewarded officially. However, in the meantime, I'm sure your reward is happy and healthy animals. Bravo!
Nice to hear from June. If she's going to Jordan, I wonder if she'll get to Petra - a place on my bucket list since I read an Agatha Christie book set there as a teenager.
Hi to Theresa and MizT and all others who pass this way!

Vietnam is an interesting place. Very different to Aus. The number of motobikes!!!!!!!!!! population of Ho Chi Minh City is about 7M and I think the must be that many motobikes as well
