I'm off to bed in about 15 minutes. I need to get up early (for me) because the plumber will be back at 9 am to fill in the hole around the well, as well as trenches that had to be dug to find the break in the wire.
I was SUPPOSED to go to the UK Extension Expo tomorrow morning to help either cook and serve beef or man the Cattlemen's informational booth. I do this every year, unless an emergency intervenes. This qualifies.

It wasn't so bad, MizT. We were successful in the most important issue. But I have one of those headaches that wont quit, so came home from visiting sis and had a nana nap...a little better now, but I know this one is going to linger a while. I get cluster headaches, they come, stay for a few days then are a distant memory till next month...anyone noticing a cycle here?

Poor Gail. I hope that headache gives up quickly. They can be crippling while you have 'em.

The plumber arrived early... fortunately I was up and dressed already.... and the bad luck already started. The track-hoe has a dead battery.

I am back, sort of. I have a deadline for Monday, but it shouldn't be a problem. Just getting caught up on some nasty ffuts. I have read all the comments while having my coffee this morning. We were hoping to do some yard work today, but the weather turned out gloomier than predicted (surprise, surprise). It should be mandatory that the first day of spring be nice weather.
Heidi, I am on facebook, but I only joined to see if I could reconnect with old school chums and friends. I have been mildly successful. I'm not involved in all of the game applications as I just don't have time. Plus I know that I would be addicted if I started.
Gail, hope your headache is better.
My hands (pinkie fingers only) have been bothering me ... I have to set up x-rays for my hands in the near future.
Well, time to start thinking about "flinging food". Hope to be back later.

Morning all!
Went to a play with hubby last night. Just a local theatre company production, but it was fun! I couldn't believe how late it was when we got home - well, actually, there were moments during the production where it was easy to believe, but mostly we laughed a lot.

In this play there were 3 couples and 3 single people (I hope I haven't forgotten anyone). In the beginning of the play one of the married guys is trying to give a woman a fur coat so that she will sleep with him. It all gets very complicated and he actually ends up with nobody, while the husband of the woman he was trying to seduce has his secretary on the side, as well as the wife of the man trying to sleep with his wife. There is a very proper and innocent single guy who gets blamed for all of the affairs to cover the married guys butts, and it just kept getting more and more complicated and hilarious!!

Heidi, the pinkie finger on the right hand has arthritis, but it really only bothers me when it gets cold. I thought the one on the left hand was probably arthritis as well, but my doctor is not so sure; hence the x-rays. It bothers me all the time and the more I'm on the computer (which is how I make my living), the more it bothers me. It's swollen, inflamed, and sometimes locks in a straight position. It's funny how something so small can be so painful. Heat seems to help. But I'm not letting it stop me ... I won't give up my computer or my crafts!!!

I have been trying for 2 days now to get maps working. I'm going to have to take the laptop over town to get a better connection to do it. I think Susan from Queensland is somewhere in the middle of the area threatened by Ului, but I'm not sure!!!

Okay, now I'm not sure whether to laugh or blush... Do you know that when you have a slow connection there is this other thing you can do called - look in an atlas? Sigh.

It looks like the Ului crossed the coast 3 or 400km south of Susan. She's probably getting nasty winds and rains, but probably not the 200kph stuff....

Theresa, MizT and you have something in common it seems. If her docs are successful you will have a reference point! A sticky little finger would make typing quickly without errors very difficult. I hope the docs are able to help you.

Broni et al, I used to play just the mindjolt games on fb. Then someone from here got me into Bejeweled. Then my daughters wanted to play zoo and needed friends - they don't play much now. Then there is the lexulous/scrabble thing. There's a new one now (new to me), um, that's right, mahjongg. I play my lexulous moves once or twice a day, mindjolt once a week, my connection won't let me do much on zoo at the moment, and bejeweled and mahjongg take so long to load that I tend to open them and leave them open all day for my coffee breaks. My computer seems to be my drop off when I'm done with something point.... or my 'I don't want to do that' drop off point...

Theresa, do a search for trigger finger. that locking up sounds close to how trigger finger is explained. I have done a lot of reading about hand problems lately Trigger finger I am told is easily repaired. Boy so much can go wrong with hands, lots of bones, nerves, tendons and muscles there.
Heidi, hope they get the trenches filled soon. sorry you missed all the fun of serving at the Expo. Always a lot of good info from the Extension Service. I enjoyed the time I took thier master gardeners classes.

Gail, hope your headache is better. I have heard cluster headaches are even worse than migraine, and that is more than bad itself.

Rolanda been in lately? I do not remember seeing her this page.

Broni, I keep getting reminders that about 6 people have invited me to join face book. I just do not have time for another site to visit daily. I have 3 bulletin boards, takes time. No way I need a cyber farm or aquarium, if I had energy for such I should be caring for my real plants hehehe.

I am trying to make a decision. I had planned this week to buy more flowers, get all my containers filled, even if I needed to hire some help for a morning for the listing of containers, mixing of soil, things I cannot do one handed. BUT I could easily loose all my flowers while I am recovering from surgery. Al will have enough to do keeping up with his stuff, plus all the necessary stuff for me, not sure I can ask him to water plants also. He might get around to it, but not in a timely fashion, and plants do need routine regular care. I would ask a neighbor hood teenager to come help, but all the families with children have moved away. Just a bunch of us old fogies, and some younger working couples with small children now. Maybe I should buy me some silk flowers and stick in my pots hehehe.

Picnic is finished, way to much food, as is usual with this group. I just finished putting away pork roast and cake and sweet potatoes. somehow the left over stuffed eggs did not make it home, hopefully someone got them and can use them. Weather was perfect, warm, bit of a breeze, sunny. Can't ask for better than that.

I think it is time to sit with feet up a bit and perhaps a nice glass of iced tea. Catch you all later, hugs.

MizT, what a dilemma about the flowers - I know how much you love having them around. Maybe Al can help you set up one or two containers, just enough to be cheery during your recovery without being a lot of work to maintain?

I also have an offline version of mahjongg, which is why I was tempted to try the one on facebook. The online one is a different in that it is timed and you only have a minute to see what you can do. Those fb friend reminders are a pain in the tush. I kept getting reminder that my BIL had invited me - months after we had already connected up in there.

Thanks for the info, MizT. With trigger finger apparently the finger locks in a bent position, but my finger locks in a straight position. The other symptoms do fit however. Will have to see what my doctor says next time I go there (which just seems to be way too often lately).
Glad your picnic went well ... suddenly I feel very hungry!!!
As for Facebook, I reconnected with my high school best friend. I also reconnected with 3 kids (known as boat people at the time) that I used to babysit. It's fun catching up with them, but I'm disappointed that I haven't been able to find more friends from my past.

My oldest grandie (age 6) invited me to a sleepover this coming Friday. She has made a list of the things that she is planning for us. It goes as follows, with all the spellings that she used. I don't think she did a bad job considering she is only in grade 1.

for gramda

sekret hand shak
play tage
axersas
danc
eat intel war foll

I am not supposed to tell anyone about her plans, so you didn't hear it from me. I thought this was so sweet!!!

Theresa, I'm guilty of this, but I find that many people don't put photos of themselves in that little profile picture place so I find the names of old friends, but don't know which one is them! The difference with me is that my name is so weird people know it's me even though I don't have a profile pic...

on the Health Front.
Getting there, recovery is slow, not experiencing the 'exhaustive' tiredness anymore. Unless one has a busy day, like yesterday, at the Caravan and Camping Show, am overtired this morning.
I still get tired easily, down to one snooze a day, ie late morning/lunchtime, to keep me going till bedtime.
Cooking meals is a 'chore'!
Keeping the house respectively clean and tidy questionable.
Am keeping up with sloshing thingymejiggy, but the hot sliding thingymejiggy /folding is piling up and up and up.....

Theresa, I didn't get the eat until we're full one. Gorgeous!

Rolanda, I bet your settings are set at 'delete cookies on exit' or whatever fancy name they call it. You can probably change that. When I clean my cache I have the option to keep cookies for favourites anyway. If I uncheck that one I have to sign in again. Do I sound like I know what I'm talking about? If I do - fooled ya! I forgot about Farkle! It's one of the ones that used to load okay but now takes a loooong time. I'm going to take the lap top over town because sometimes that gives it a boost and when I get home it goes back to not-too-bad speeds instead of the pathetic speeds I have right now....

The has crossed my mind Zusy.. Got to get the #1 child to have a look at it..
Will NOT ask #2, even though he is very much capable of doing the same, but with him he will go on and on about the prog, and what I am using, and....
then try to install something else to fix it .. and .....
we end up with WW4 because he hasn't done what I wanted him to do in the first place !!!
With #1, yep Mum no worries! a few mins later, all done. No drama!!

Rolanda, you should start to get over that tired about 6 weeks after surgery. It is probably the anesthesia more than the surgery itself. When I worked hospital, one of the anesthesiologists was talking one day, said if he put you to sleep and then woke you back up with no surgery done, it would take you 6 weeks to get back to normal. Said it is the closest you can come to death and tell about it. They use powerful drugs, you know. I am glad you are a bit better. Any way you can hire someone to come in and do your ironing just once, to catch you up? Sometimes a bit of help can make a huge difference. I am looking now for someone to come in and give house a good cleaning before I have my surgery. So much I just cannot do now and for weeks after.

SUZY, I had to read the " eat till full" comment 3 times, before I got that, so you are not alone in having trouble. such a cute list.

Theresa, what does the grandie like to eat her fill of?

Heidi, I am getting lots of comments from people who have had hand surgery for one reason or another, Trigger finger, carpel tunnel, the CMC arthroplasty I will be having, and each one has said surgery was totally the correct decision, and they wished they had it done sooner.

DRATS, my computer clock jumped time again! AGGGH! It went back to standard time. My body is still on standard time, and if we have a few more sunny mornings, I might nudge it into daylight savings time.

It is forecast another cold front is approaching. Tomorrow's high for the day will be at midnight tonight, and that only 56, bummer. Tomorrow night's low very near freezing, I do hope we do not have frost to kill all the lovely buds on my pear trees!! I got out my new carpi pants today and hung them in closet, but will NOT need them tomorrow. Soon, hopefully soon.

Hello, Fellow Sudokuaholics!

Hi, MizTricia, Vivacious Viv, Gail, Broni, Heidi, Suzy, Theresa, Rolanda, and anyone I've missed!

MizT, I hope your Saturday dinner picnic was fun for everyone! We're just back from a wedding & reception. We went from temperatures in the 60's F to 40's last early evening in 15 minutes. Today we're in the low 30's and "enjoying" snow! I'm sure the bride, groom, and their families were disappointed, but everyone had fun. MizT, your experience in the middle of an accident sounds frightening! I don't know that I would have been of any help in such a situation. They were fortunate that you were there and could help!

V Viv, what an experience you had! How nice of you to stay with the young man once the lady & her husband were seen to! You're right that the lady is quite fortunate that it is only a broken collarbone, but still something to heal! So sorry to hear about your FIL! Sending prayers and positive vibes and hope they can find meds that help to control his pain!

Heidi, I hope your water situation fix lasts a good long time! Be careful walking about until the hole is filled, especially when you go out for nighttime calf checks!

Gail, it sounds like you had a full day planned! Hopefully the K room is looking spic and span by now. (Wouldn't it be nice if it would stay that way?) Good luck to D#3 as she begins work on her next masterpiece! Sending positive vibes for your sister and hope the transfer to a smaller facility turned out to be the best thing!

Thank you, Suzy, for thoughts & prayers for my BIL! He has been dealing with some troubling symptoms but no diagnosis or treatment. Sounds like your girls also enjoy the fine arts! Charcoal can be such fun, but SOO messy, thus the fixative! The play you and your hubby saw sounds interesting - and complicated.

MizT, wish I had been in your K room while you were making those yummy smells! Yes, a thumb is a good thing to have! So nice that hubby was there to lend a thumb!

Gail, I hope your headache has subsided by now!

Heidi, it's time for some better luck in your neck of the woods!

I agree with Broni & Theresa about FB - can be very helpful in tracking friends from years ago, but I don't get caught up in the games. Most days I don't even play Sudoku or do the jigsaw puzzles, though I really enjoy them - just come here, as that's all I have time for.

Theresa, good luck as you meet your latest deadlines! How fun that your grandie has invited you for a sleepover and has planned the evening. Her spelling is great for first grade and her ideas for a good time are well thought out! (I struggle at first with eating until you're full! Have fun!

Heidi, my Dad had his middle fingers lock in the bent position. I can't remember what it was called, but I think it had something to do with tendons. He never had the surgery, but the condition didn't improve.

Rolanda, wishing we could speed up your recovery, but sounds quite s

Heidi, thanks for point out the incomplete sentence to Rolanda! I certainly seem to remember typing it. I wonder where it went. Was it longer than is allowed! I don't think I've ever had that happen to me before.

Rolanda, wishing we could speed up your recovery, but sounds quite similar to what I remember from many years ago. It seems like forever before you can get through a day - or sometimes an activity - without feeling exhausted. Hang in there! It WILL get better!

(See, I even remember that I capitalized WILL - hopefully I have remembered what I had meant to say!
