Sorry, I got drawn into Nal's Flick'r page. So, in other words, the "fix" took months and didn't really accomplish anything? There MUST be some way to make subfolders for various themes, as holidays, animals, tie-dye, etc.

Oops, I'm sorry. I didn't look at the number of your post. Were you planning to get the TOPP, Heidi? I've just been wandering around. It's amazing how much time passes as you get caught up in photos!

Thanks, Heidi! I'll take it, as it's been a while. Things are pretty quiet this evening. (Well, evening for us.) Are you still doing cow checks, or has calving season ended for you?

Still doing cow checks, but less often. There are still a half dozen, or slightly more, cows left to calve.

We had a bit of an unnerving experience here a little while ago. Rain was laying next to me and suddenly had a seizure. It was a small one, but after losing Lucky to epilepsy the day before Rain arrived here, it's scared me.

Sorry, I was away checking emails. My sister has my BIL at Mayo Clinic (several days this week and several more next week) so I've been digesting information.

I don't remember how old Rain is - is this an older dog from an older couple? Unfortunately, I know nothing about epilepsy in dogs, but I think you shouldn't have to deal with it again, especially so soon! Sending positive vibes that this was an isolated incident that will not be repeated! Fingers crossed!

Nearly midnight here, and the yawns are becoming more frequent. I will head to bed wishing all the best (good health, happiness, wealth of spirit, plus enough wealth for a comfortable life) to everyone! Good Night!

HI Julie, and everyone. Not insomnia, my body just has not changed to daylight savings time yet! Since I do not have to be up a certain time, I do not have to go to bed a certain time, so I go to bed when I get sleepy, about now, 12 by the clock, but 11 pm by my body hehehe.

It will be some while before I know more about this surgery. They have to get an OK from my doc first, before doing all the other stuff, and my doc is on vacation this week. It is spring break here, and he took off to spend time with his son.

Hubby helped me bake cakes to carry to a Saturday dinner, picnic, weather should be warmer, I hope all turns out well for that. I also need to make some stuffed eggs. Hubby tomorrow will smoke a pork roast. With everyone bringing dishes, we should have a very good time! Spring is the best picnic time in Alabama, gets too hot and muggy come summer.

OK< time for bed, Julie, you can tell I read all the posts by how long I was on site. but too sleepy now to reply to all. I did ctch up reading, so enjoy being able to hear from eash of you.

Hugs to all and night night for me.

Hi everyone.
We are close here to changing back to normal time.
Yesterday when i went out in the car I was behind a young man in car who was about to do a left hand turn.
He was therefore not travelling very fast and neither was I but next minute I see something fly through the air and land on the roadway.
He had hit a lady on a pushbike, he had not seen her.
I put the handbrake on and left the car running and leapt out of the car and dialled OOO for the ambulance.
He was beside himself. He was calling the police.
She was lying on her left side, with her eyes shut but she was breathing.
He called his mum to come to the accident scene and I stayed with him as by this time he was crying, while the ambo's took the lady away and then we gave our details to the police.
Her husband had been with her on his pushbike but he had turned up into the street we were coming out of but she had proceeded straight along the other street. I asked him did he need help in transporting the bicycles, or if I could take him up to the hospital but he said, no I have called my neighbour.
I rang the hospital in the afternoon to see how the lady was but they would not give me any info.
I had recognized the young guy who works at one of our McDonalds stores here.
His Mum is a nurse and works at the hospital where they took the lady so I figured he would know how she had fared.
Today I tracked him down and he said she has a broken collarbone.
She was very lucky, thank god for helmets.
Anyhow he said I have something for you, at home in my fridge, to thank you for your assistance.
I said I do not want anything I was glad to be able to help.
But he insists so whatever it is I am to pick it up from him at his work Monday.

Apologies for the large post but had to explain it to you all. I was on my way to visit my father in law who is in hospital who has lung cancer but after that I did not feel like going to see him.
I went this morning instead and he is very frail.
They are having trouble controlling his pain and they were going to look at changing his meds today.
He is 88 and he says he has had enough of the pain.

Oh Viv, I am speechless at what you have been through!
Very sorry about your FIL. Sometimes the pain just gets too much. I have seen two older men with that dreaded smoker's disease, emphysema, just give up because it was too hard. They both slipped quietly away, no longer in distress.
You and your family are in my thoughts.
I hope his journey can be made as comfortable as possible ♥

Hi Gail. This is the third time in the last month he is back in hospital. He has had 2 falls as well.
He really cannot go home again as his wife cannot cope and we think she has some dementia.
If he does leave the hospital he really needs to go to some sort of care facility.
It is terrible to see him like this but he definitely has gone downhill since he had radiation, equal to 3 doses in one hit, just before christmas.
All I really know is it was a growth on what I thought was the outside of the lung but am not sure.
He has not smoked for years and years.
On the other hand my friend John, who has smoked since age 12 !! and is still smoking has all sorts of problems and a growth in his lung but he is still going. He has emphysema too, he is 73.

VIV, I know just what you mean, being unable to continue on to hospital to visit FIL after seeing and helping at that accident scene. A very similar thing happened to me when I was in nursing school, comming home from some class late night. Driving along and a body went past me in the air, a inebriated pedestrian had been hit, he just wandered into a 4 lane highway and was not seen by the driver in front of me that hit him. Body landed on the car behind me before hitting the road. Several cars stomped and some people from a nearby business came out. It took a few of the men there to psychically keep him lying still till medics arrived. He wanted to get up and walk off to find the bottle he had been drinking and he had a couple of really bad gashes, head and hip, and broken bones. We got him covered with blankets and kept him quite till medics arrived. It took a lot of talking to him to keep him quite. After medics arrived, I was asked to go sit with a lady in auto, this body had hit her car,and she was hysterical. I stayed talking with her till family could arrive to take her home, medics had checked her to be sure she was not injured. after it was all over, I was shaking so badly I had trouble driving, happily for me I was about 5 minutes from my home, I could not have driven far.

It was a good thing you went back home, after that kind of shock , driving is not the thing to do. I really can say I know how you felt, and sending big hugs to you. Hope someone was around to give you a real hug after that.

Sending wishes and prayers for your father in law, hoping that docs can get his pain under control. Some cancers can be such a wasting disease, leaving the body as frail as. Wishing the best possible outcome for him now.

A good Maen and Hugs to all, I must get coffee made, and then frost the cakes for tomorrow. We will get out smoker a bit later today and start smoking that huge hunk of meat, neighbor is cooking another in his smoker, we will have a LOT to eat and make the neighborhood smell soooo good doing it.

Broni... Gath's "fix" was no real help. Many Supporting members complained of needing to organize our smilies, since they're all mixed up in the box. Gath thought he understood and gave us the ability to put tags on them in the section called "Manage Smilies" on the "Update Details" page. We can't do a thing more with them in the "Your Smilies" box that we use to post with.

Viv... I bet you're still a bit shaky after that experience. Thank goodness that the ladies' injuries weren't more severe. You are a good person to stop and help. These days, people willing to get involved are few and far between.
I'm also sending my best wishes to your FIL. I hope he's able to be pain free and comfortable in the end, which is what he wants.

It's quite sore, since I was unable to follow Doctor's orders and rest completely for 24 hours afterwards, with NO lifting or hard work. Instead, I had to drag a large calf out of a pond and up a 3 ft. embankment, as well as wrestle with a few other calves that IH had separated from their mothers.

I'm sitting here waiting for the plumber. We don't have any water. Again. The circuit breaker for the well pump keeps tripping off. Four seconds after resetting it, it trips off again. There may be a short in the line somewhere or the circuit breaker may be defective. It's only been in place for just over a month.

The plumber has been here, and had to go to town for major supplies. The circuit breaker was NOT defective. The pressure tank for the well is busted and has to be replaced. And we still haven't located the source of the short. It may be a while before we have water.

New pressure tank installed, and still no water. The plumber and his helper are now picking up the track-hoe to dig up the well AGAIN!! I'm really getting sick of this. We probably won't have water until sometime tomorrow.

:( no water, Heidi, that sucks!

re the smilies, it would be great if, once tagged, they rearranged automatically into alphabetical order or something. You're right, Heidi, tagging them makes no difference to their order on the smilies page. Would be wonderful if you could select a tag, and only those smilies show up...

Early start today...first I have to do what I have been putting off for a day or so...the k-room needs attending.
Then D#3 and I are going to the shopping centre, she needs some art supplies for a school project, another masterpiece coming up, I suspect.
After that, we will head over and visit my sister again. She sent me a text saying she was being transferred to the hospital closer to her home, a smaller facility with better accommodations. I responded that it was good she let me know, otherwise I would have had to sit with a total stranger for a couple of hours!

Morning all!
Liz, how horrible. It was a good idea to chase up the young man as you now know the lady is okay. Wondering about that would be awful. The young man also sounds like a nice person, something good to hear these days. I am not surprised to hear how supportive you were of him. So sorry to hear about your FIL. I hope they find a way to control his pain soon.

MizT, your experience was horrible too! It was a lot to ask of you to sit with the lady who was hysterical. It was wonderful of you to do it anyway. As with Liz, I'm not surprised though.

Heidi, grrrr, doesn't this mean you are bucketing water for the animals?

The cows still to calve have access to the pond for water. I turned the others into the back pasture so they could drink out of the creek. The horses and bulls have access to city water. The dogs like to drink out of the fish pond anyway. I only have to haul water for the poultry.

Julie, thoughts and wishes to your sister and BIL...

Gail, thoughts and wishes to your sister too. Your visit to the wrong hospital would have been very noice for the person you sat with...

My Ds are also asking for more art supplies. If we go over town today I will look for fixative since they are both getting into charcoal in a big way.

Latest ... It appears that the well pump was damaged during the thunderstorm a little over a week ago. It looks like that;ll have to be replaced again. This one was only 4 or 5 months old.

OK... finally some good news. The well pump had not been killed by lightning. It's fine. One of the hot wires to it had broken... in the well... and was shorting out and arcing every time the pump tried to kick in, tripping the circuit breaker. We now have water, and a honking big hole in the back yard. They'll be back in the morning to finish the job.

Gail, I thought I was the one who named the wrong friend there a while, when Suzi kept saying LIZ. Come to find out it was our little cocktail waitress Suzi who was wrong hehehe.

SUZI, I Guess the medics who asked me to sit with the hysterical woman thought I could handle it, I was there helping tend to the injured up until they were set up and ready to take over.

Gail, hope you enjoyed your trip to shopping center and do not look at such a trip as torture as I would. I hate shopping.

Heidi, glad you have water and not having to buy a new pump. I would hate having a hole in the yard though, even overnight. DO NOT forget where it is and fall in on your way to do an after dark cow check.

OK, I still have eggs to stuff for tomorrow, hubby forgot to buy more eggs yesterday, brought them in this afternoon after installing a door and a sign this afternoon. I cooked and stuffed all the eggs I had this afternoon. You should have seen me peeling eggs one handed, hehehe. I was lucky, the first batch the sheels slipped right off. HOPE I am as fortunate this dozen.

I made a sweet potato apple bake today also! My oven has got a workout today, and of course today was a very warm day. I had windows open and fans blowing to keep that K room cool. you see, I have this rule about not having heat and AC on in the same day!!

He did not get the smoker going, so I oven roasted our meat, now people have a choice, Orange/rosemary oven roasted pork, or BBQ smoked pork. My house smells good! Al did have to come to the rescue to get the roast into pan and into oven, I just cannot handle, manipulate a 10 pound anything at the moment. Thumbs are kind of important, aren't they?
